You can move the goal posts endlessly throughout a season. They were winning in a very unsustainable way. As soon as the low danger shots stopped going in, and Larkin got hurt, and Lyon was overworked, well you saw what happened.
Good discussion regarding Patrick Kane, guys👍👏! I freely admit that I had real reservations about his signing with the team, initially. However, I'm happy to say that since his arrival in Detroit, I have been genuinely impressed with not just PK's on-ice play, but also his chemistry with the rest of the team (particularly younger players like Lucas Raymond). Personally speaking, even though Patrick Kane's now decisively proved the hip surgery naysayers wrong (and will therefore likely receive some financially stronger off-season offers from stronger SC contenders than the Red Wings), I feel reasonably sure that he will ultimately elect to extend his stay in Detroit, without too much waiting or off-ice drama. Great discussion regarding who may or may not coming back next season. 100% agree with you regarding Christian Fisher and his role and value to the team, both on and off the ice🎯! Let's hope that Steve Y. gives him at least a two-year extension and a decent (though not bank-busting) raise to match, this coming off-season🤞! Keep up the good work, guys. The Red Wings are still alive in the playoff race (after the Buffalo win) and it's April 8th -- let's hope they keep it rolling!
Czarnik as 2C. Always a gamer. That said, the younger, bigger, stronger skating Veleno is an RFA, but this just shows Lalonde has little faith in Veleno
We are playing meaningful games in April, but I think the way we collapsed the final part of season tells us that this team didn't progress that much this season. If we come back next year with the same coach and players, I don't think that is a recipe for future success.
@@Nall412 Because he is slow as shit and takes stupid penalties, he is 35 and they can replace his spot on the PP with Sprong, Berggren or someone else.
Wings are exactly where we wanted them to be- still playing meaningful games in April. Good show.
Goal posts move when you have 9 point cushion and blow it. Especially after brining Kane here. Not good vibes here in Detroit.

If they're going to play Czarnik as 2C, why not call up Kasper?
Lmao Matt said, "what about Marco Kasper?" literally less than 30 seconds after I posted this comment as I'm watching the video. 😂
2024/25: No Lalonde, nice guy but in over his head. 2nd line: Kane/Danielson/Cat
That would be sweet, though I think D needs at least part of the year in GR to adjust to the pro game.
Berube isn't the type of coach to play rookies. If you hate petry getting over played you'll hate Berube. He got fired for a reason.
Berggren should be in top six not on a fourth line

Perron for a couple more years? screw that
Whynot?
