You really need to wet the surface before you apply the cement to increase the bond. Otherwise very creative using your hands and the plastic bag to help save on the mess.

How to repair the cement between bricks? They are dry out and have creaated gaps between bricks. Thank you for reply in advance.

Fixing this issue is not difficult. You can use high quality cement and reply it between bricks with right tools

I liked your approach using your hands. Seems like you lose less material than with a trowel or putty knife for the application. I've done one foundation wall of my house and it turned out "ok" but I think the other walls I'm going to try your method. . I was going to use ready mix concrete patch and repair this time. What do you think? Less work in the mixing.

I feel a lot more comfortable use my hands because that concrete doesn't dry out quickly and can be smoothed out slowly
