With the Halloween thing, Catholic schools celebrate All Saints Day which is the day after Halloween and All Souls Day (day after that), so thats kinda their "Halloween" thing. The churches I go to celebrate Halloween. We don't celebrate demons, we celebrate... idk, getting candy and dressing up as our favorite character or animal. It's totally different when you bring worshipping and summoning of demons, which I guess is traditional Halloween? Idk. I've always seen it as casual. It's similar to how you view music I think, you said you stopped listening to some genre of music like EDM I think. I don't mind listening to some music that isn't very appropriate, only because I don't feel tempted to sin, my mind doesn't waver from God in those moments. It's like, idk, we live in weird times. In an ideal world we'd probably brand what kids do during Halloween as something different. I know in Finland they go trick or treating for Easter, or something like that it's in a similar vein as Halloween. But we associate Easter with the resurrection, right? Thats GOOD! So, yea, i think it just depends on if it tempts you to sin or not
Yes I agree, I still listen to EDM here and there, mostly while working out. I also think it can be casual and fun to go out trick or treating. I’m still undecided! But we had fun tonight going out with the kids trick or treating all as a family so I see that as a good thing!
