Greetings from Hungary peeps. Its so cool to think that our people and thus languages are long distant siblings. And the it does sound alike in a way, and i feel a somewhat deep connection to this language. I am moved. Incredible❤
I’m not really familiar with metal and I just somehow stumbled upon this video and I was about to click off before I went “hold on, this is actually fire”
Very good band and I specially like the fact that they sing in Finnish , such a beautiful language. Suomen kieli on ihan kaunis! Skyforger from Latvia and Metsatöll from Estonia also kick some serious ass. Nothing against the English language, but it's amazing to listen to foreign bands from all over the world sing in their native languages, such a breath of fresh air. I am on a native languages folk/pagan metal binge 🙂
Maybe check out Alien Weaponry from New Zealand & Shepherds Reign from Samoa. Bit different style from Korpiklaani but they sing in their native language, which i also find very appealing. Special mention for the HU from Mongolia. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I've listened to alot Finnish bands.. being part finnish myself. Theirs so many Damn good ones, but I havta say Korpiklaani is one of the absolute best and very consistent. I never found one bad album and they manage to make things fresh and interesting. Oh and this song is awesome as well
Perkele is very hard to explain. Some say that Perkele is a devil or father of Satan. Finnish believes are strange because in past people (christians too) thought that there is still old gods in forests etc.
Perkele is the demonized name of Ukko, the god of the sky. Finnish mythology doesn't contain many evil-natured phenomenoms or characters, most of them (that were not evil) are made evil, but they're seen as different kinds of ways to live ones life and to establish certain basic laws and ways to deal with things I think. In finland the paganish ways were very strong, even after the christianity came. Even the christian god was sometimes called Ukko (because that way if the priest would misunderstand Ukko to his own god, he would give blessings to Ukko instead and folk could continue to worship Ukko.) Sometimes the name was about both Christian god and pagan god, and some worshipped both, so they would call both Ukko, saves some effort. So Ukko was called Perkele (probably by church) and after decades the name Perkele was demonized, as it was linked to the pagan god but not the Christian god.
Perfect!👍🏻 I expected that when the character (at the end) turned around, he would stare at himself ...😢 God, when that happened, I felt so sorry for him (not to mention previous or subsequent meanings in life with a being of darkness)😭
Hungarian, Bulgarian, Finnish belong to Uralic language group, while Turkish, Mongolian, Korean and Japanese belong to Altaic language group. So our languages span a large area from Pacific ocean through Central Asia and Anatolia and reaching to Baltic sea. Greetings from Turkey by the way. May Tengiri be with you as well as Odin and the Force.

+Erik ,Faust des Fenris To me, their older ones are the better ones! You can even star by listening to "Shaman", the band before Korpiklaani, if you wish to know it from the start! But my favourite albums will always be Tales along this road and Korven Kuningas!
I'm from Romania, a finnish bro showed me this masterpiece.
I love your music Finland, may God bless your beautiful people 🧡🧡🧡
Slut fratioare, ma bucur ca suntem mai multi cu gusturi bune
We have many Gods! Sadly our original ones mostly forgotten long time ago and worshipping places crushed by lazy and greedy fuckin Christian cunts!

Финского языка не знаю, но видеоряд делает понятным смысл песни для каждого.
