I actually live in a Cabin in the Woods atop a mountain valley high hill and experience this type of weather a few times a year ; off the grid with a wood stove : cozy , comfortable , and secure .
I'm 65 & ready for some snow this year in indiana. My 5 yr old granddaughter loves snow & was disappointed last winter. I love the snow as it's falling out of the clouds. My favorite is snowing so heavy you get 2-3 inches in an hour. You have thunder & some lighting when it snows that heavy. Sleep well tonight & every night. My insomnia is at it's worst. Haven't slept in 8 days but only 8-10 hrs. Doctor prescribed me something but doesn't work.
To Jerry George I am so sorry for your loss. I understand what it is to be alone so I am sending you warm hugs and kind wishes that you will find peace and happiness once again. Do not loose yourself in the cold embrace of this freezing landscape but use the wind to blow away the hurt and trauma of the past. Start fresh, seek out new adventures, accept a smile from a stranger and let hope seep back into your heart. Find a safe harbor, a loving companion - dogs are amazing - give yourself time to recover. Life will be different but it will be ok. The challenge is to be here, you can do it!
On hot nights I lisen to this with fanon and actually get chills, love this and actually the sound remind me of snow storms at my grandmother's house , the wind howled there more than in the city because the houses were so far apart and there was much more space in between
ok what happened to my cabin here? i think the snow buried it...oh well i better start digging..I see a roof top..giggles...oh noooo i fell asleep...the wind n blizzard are so comforting....crawls inside through the roof top..slides down to the fireplace starts a fire..everything melts away but the wind...grabs the blankets and pillows ..gets cozy and watches the blizzard from outside the window....and with relaxation falls asleep peacefully....thank you so much Sean and Kris...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in case i dont get the time to wish you all a blessed holiday ......big squishy hugs from New Jersey....Ann PS: btw? im going to VA for the Christmas Holiday to see my son who just moved there alittle while ago ...pray for some snow and cross your fingers n toes we get some...lol....it would make my whole holiday...(ive never really been anywhere..smiles)...God Bless hon's...

This is so incredibly relaxing and especially since we're going through the worst heatwave here in the US. Hotter than hell outside but in my mind, I'm out there in that snow, nice and curled up all warm under a good pine or spruce on brink of falling asleep. Hello Florida! I've been to Miami a couple of times, it's a long way from our home. We live in the Kootenay Mountains in BC Canada and in a couple of months we will go from this 96' heat to cold snowy days and nights. Snuggling under a warm quilt is wonderful. Nice to see hand made ones. Wishing you hours of enjoyment making your own.

I view the snow and cold so much differently now that I do t have to work. It was a hassle before. Now I just want to buy a cabin and be able to go out and walk and enjoy it and an outside fire. Probably not in this much wind lol. Or have the option to stay in front of the fire and read read read. I always thought I would move to Florida from New England and now I don’t think I will. I love the forests too much. Living in ct I have access to both beaches and forests, and I don’t think I could give up either.
