    Another top video fella, shame your double figure ray didn’t make a show but plenty of decent rays showing along the South Wales coast recently.
    Stick with the dongle fella it’s definitely the way to go and no more deep hooked fish to worry about.
    Looking forward to your next adventure.

    Nice one mate. Live down the road from the spit in Cardiff👍 not sure if it’s easier but less of a walk is parking by caravan park and walking through the farmers field (track on outside of fields). You have to navigate down the cliff but it’s a path and not as daunting as it sounds. Also, walk down as far as you can go for the blondes on there. Bigger tides the better and it shows another sand bank 40-50 yards out which you can get onto and cast that bit further👍

    • @theawfulangler
      @theawfulangler  Год назад

      Cheers, mate. I saw some cars parked outside the caravan park on the way down, thought visitors must not be allowed on site. Saw the local guys walk down out of the site. Then, driving back up the hill, I saw the gate and the path 🤦🏻‍♂️ I'll know now for next time 👍🏼

    Great Content. Even though it was sh*te but some different species. I don't know about you but I am always full of hope when trying a new venue, and enjoy it even if it was bad. Then decide it was the tactics I was using rather than the fishing was just plain bad on that day.😎😎😎

    • @theawfulangler
      @theawfulangler  Год назад

      You can learn something from every trip 100%. This was definitely just down to my poor choice. The southerly winds were too much, really, my casts were probably no more than 60yds. I should have listened to my head and gone north Wales, rather than my heart and gone south.

  • @nicksmith4648

    That build up to fishing 'the' mark is great. Then usually ends in disappointment. If you watch the videos around South Wales at the minute you'd think there was double figure rays coming out every minute.
    Locals who can pick and choose conditions and tides have such a massive advantage (fair play to them - I'm only jealous 😅)

    • @darrengodfrey6568
      @darrengodfrey6568 Год назад +1

      The fishing down there is really hard going You have to really work to get the target fish it aint as easy as they make it look an how high up you are on the high water marks

    • @theawfulangler
      @theawfulangler  Год назад +2

      @nicksmith4648 agree mate. I like the build up and the anticipation. Often its not rewarded though. But I learn something every trip which hopefully makes me a better angler

    • @theawfulangler
      @theawfulangler  Год назад +1

      @darrengodfrey6568 fishing in general isn't as easy as some of the channels would have you believe. That's why I like to show all my sessions. When the local boys I know down there were staying in bed, I should have headed north instead 🤣

    • @theawfulangler
      @theawfulangler  Год назад +1

      Don't say things like that! I was very tempted to go to layde Bay thinking I would shelter, a little, from the winds 😭

    • @theawfulangler
      @theawfulangler  Год назад

      🤣 that's me having a shocker of a winter then! The excessive facial fungus is an annual occurrence for me.
      The weather drops, I get lazy with the trimmer, Sarah complains about the scruff, makes me determined to keep it, gets itchy but too long for my clippers 🤣🤣
      Maybe if I start combing and oiling it, throw on a 3 piece suit I might catch a couple
