I love this podcast/series! I'm going to have to try roasting veggies, that looked really good! We don't have an actual meal plan, but my husband & I make as much homemade food as possible. It's so much better bc, like you said, you know exactly what's in it. But how you eat with adding very little sugars is hard for me, bc I love my sweets, lol. Any snack/dessert ideas, where it's at least kinda sweet, but also healthy?
Breakfast is usually special k with cut fruit along with almond milk Lunch depends because sometimes I just skip but I'll usually have fruit with yogurt or hummus with chips Dinner every night is something different like Monday is waffles Tuesday is tv dinner Wedsday is Stir Fry Thursday is chicken Friday is Sushi Saturday is Stir fry and Sunday is cereal What I drink is water and I'm a cold 🦃

I love roasted veggies on a salad. Tofu scramble is yummy with garlic, salt, pepper, onion, cumin, tumeric and nutritional yeast adding in bell peppers onions and greens. I need to try adding avocado to my next berry smoothie. I really like to make a big batch of roasted veggies and a protein for easy meals during the week.
I want to start making roasted veggies and chicken for throughout the week as well, but does it taste the same 3-4, even 5 days later? I'm nervous it'll go bad.
@@Denah The chicken and veggies taste the same 4 days later. I put basic spices on the veggies and protein so then it is easy to turn them into new meals.
Avocado in smoothies are AMAZING😍 omg I love it!! I make one with a whole avokado. 1 banana, 1 lemon, 2 hands of spinitch, 2dl of frozen mango and a lil water in there pluss some protein powder. Omg thats good😍 I havent tryed adding the Maca tho.. might try it tomorrow morning acually🤔 but i allso do like different forrest berries with some cranberry juice and acai powder aswell😋 so jummy!!!
Kale, spinach, collard greens and celery are all awesome in a smoothie! Berries are awesome and smoothies, also nuts and seeds. So glad you're using almond milk! Save your health and the calves! The smoothie explains how you have such beautiful skin!

For people who want to start eating healthy, I have some recipes to start with!!! 1. Juice: spinach, cucumber, kale, a bit of pineapple, a bit of apple, and please no added sugar 2. Fish (any kind really) : grilled with olive oil, salt and pepper BUT add this: mix some chopped chilli peppers, shallots, a bit of cilantro, and a drizzle of olive oil and lime (this will make it taste amazing I'm not gonna lie) 3. avocado salad, personally one of my favorites and is really simple: avocado, cherry tomatoes, some greens, and bell peppers if you want And for the dressing: lemon, a little bit of olive oil, salt, pepper, and some chopped shallots/onions enjoy!!!
Enjoyed your video. My mom was also ahead of her time. No food coloring, fast food, sugar etc. she grew a huge garden and we ate a lot of fresh fish and garden veggies. My sisters and I also thought we were being deprived and just wanted a Big Mac and some M&Ms but now as adults we all realize the extreme love and care that went into all my mom did She knew before it was popular that food is fuel and medicine for health. I like almonds. But, I roast my own chickpeas/garbanzos while I'm roasting veggies. They are high in niacin and protein, with a few carbs to keep me going. I empty a large can (or three small cans) onto a cookie sheet. Drizzle with the smallest amount of olive oil, pepper, garlic, and salt. Shakes the pan so the beans are coated. Pop into he oven with your veggie at 350...then lower the temperature to 225 when you take the veggies out and cook for another hour or so. They take on the consistency of a popcorn kernal that hasn't quite popped.
I used to be very diligent about my diet. The I was thrown a curveball with being both hypoglycemic and hypotensive. Low blood pressure is dangerous so I am working on getting that in check! The smoothie looks so good! Kudos to your mom for keeping you all healthy! 👍❤️ well done mama Hough!

Hi. Ive found out from a few famous chefs , that you shouldn’t add oil to your veggies before roasting. They will exude their own juices. But you can add oil etc after there done and they’ll soak it up like a sponge. I’ve tried them this way. I’ll never go back to the other. Strictly dry roasting all my veggies now. 👍😊

I LOVE cooking my own food too!! I'm only 20 but i fell in love with cooking my meals last year and I even made a blog about it because it is so much fun for me to document the fun things I make and in turn have learned so much more about the nutritional benefits of the foods I love!!
I almost do the same thing! As a dancer I love having a daily and easy meal plan- I always have protein at each meal, I start my day with protein always like a protein shake, I have a salad or sandwitch with turkey or chicken sometimes seafood like tuna or salmon. And for dinner I also love spicy food and we have freezer meals we use to make healthy meals that are easy to access if we can’t cook- Mexican is a go to with lots of great veggies too!
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR !!!!!!!!!!!! SO SO GREAT! fav way to use it is in good girl moonshine! - apple cider vinegar, ginger, ice, turmeric, Macha and strawberries for sweetness!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for this video! I don't let my kids eat sugared cereal, graham crackers, fruit snacks or any thing like it. They eat mostly whole grains, vegetables, fruit and beans. Sometimes it makes them feel like they are getting the short end of the stick. I am going to have them watch this video to know they are not alone. :)
Try roasting brussels sprouts coated in olive oil, balsamic, and garlic minced up with salt and pepper. If you peel the little leaves off the brussel sprouts before roasting the leaves actually get crunchy like a little chip and are great on top of a salad.
Food looks good but I'd urge caution with the maca, especially for women who might have any hormone-sensitive conditions (i.e. some cancers, fibroids, endometriosis, etc.). Research! Research! webmd.com has a good, concise write-up.

Cover the aluminum pan with greased wax paper. And, switch to a saturated cooking fat. Olive oil is not stable at high temperatures! Fresh cold pressed, never heated EVOO is the healthy way to go.

One of my favs is roasted cabbage steaks. Sliced cabbage red and green drizzled with olive oil and garlic and roasted in oven. Filling and soooo good.

Cover the aluminum pan with greased wax paper. And, switch to a saturated cooking fat.
Olive oil is not stable at high temperatures! Fresh cold pressed, never heated EVOO is the healthy way to go.
