In Mexico we use the term 'comprados' (bribed) in order to describe those who attend PRI rallies. @@kinetickennons This was not the traditional taking of power for a president. That was held earlier in the day where Peña Nieto handed over AMLO the control of the country. What happened in the Zocalo was 68 original native nations handed the walking staff of power to President Obrador. I'm so glad you guys experienced this with us, because whether you like Amlo or not, and this administration, it wasn't just about celebrating a president. It was for me that we can finally say we had a democratic institution that did function properly and within the rule of law. That's good for me because it means that Mexico is growing and more involved politically.
Thank you Hillary & Greg for being our ears, eyes & feet in México 🇲🇽! Both my parents are from Morelia, I was born & raised in Chicago, been to Mexico for many years BUT it’s been now 25 years that I haven’t been there... so thank you so much for showing me the current México 🇲🇽!! Love you guys!!!You’re FANTASTIC!!!👍❤️🇲🇽😃
You should come back to visit Morelia! It's one of our favorite cities! It might be the number 1 favorite actually!! The food, people, and city are all beautiful!
That’s why I love you guys! Leave politics aside and just enjoy the moment. Glad you took us with you to experience the transfer of power and you did it in a very respectful way. Politics unfortunately divide people and not everyone is gonna be happy with a new president. Hopefully the comments stay clean and to those who are or who aren’t happy with the new president of Mexico I say be respectful, this is the president that the majority of people voted for and for Christ sakes let the man do his job! He just took control of the nation, only time will tell. I do not take sides but I do respect what the people voted for and do hope this man does great for the country of Mexico. All I can say is let the man do his job and hope for the best. Let’s all do our part to make Mexico great!
Politics is so divisive these days. Maybe it always has been? I felt pretty conflicted about making this video- but considering our proximity to the Zocalo it was kind of hard to avoid. Regardless of how people feel about AMLO it was really interesting for us to see! I never imagined we would experience that event here in Mexico! I would never be crazy enough to see it in the US lol. But to be fair it's usually super cold in DC in January!
Right people think that he already broke all his promises and the man has not even had his first day on the actual job. Incredible. Honestly most people I talk to voted for AMLO there is no real opposition right now, all the opposition is just noisy online they would never say what they say in person. It is easy to fight people online.
@@MAHispanos and Guillermo Ochoa: really only online?? Did you saw today march against AMLO?? Kennons: This is the first time of AMLOFest, this is not part of the protocol of change of president. By the way, the part when AMLO get a "clean up" (limpia) is against the law because is a kind of religious belief (religión) and law split religion from goverment. Also is against the law use the national anthem to music your video. There is a law for the use of national simbols (flag, national emblem (escudo nacional) and anthem). Be careful with that. Finally I want to say.....Vivan los churros rellenos calientitos por solo diez pesitos!! :)
Guillermo Villaseor Gomez like I said there will always be people in favor and people against!! Okay we get, there’s not a video where someone shows the Mexican flag or national anthem where you don’t bring up the same thing that it’s against the law!! Yes we get it everyone gets it and yet people still do it! There’s more important things to worry about than worrying about someone that’s happy waving the flag or singing the national anthem on a sports game, on the streets or any other place for that matter. Reason why no one bothers to enforce that law for the most part. It seem you are more worried or mad about people having a good time and waving the flag and singing the national anthem than the actual law enforcement!! Get over it dude and let these people enjoy themselves!! I see the same comment from you over and over and over!! If you don’t like it then get into law enforcement and bust all these people cuz the only one I see making a big deal about this is YOU!!! And like I said let the man do his job, Time will tell and those people protesting, fine they have every right to do so but at the end of the day AMLO won fare and square, like I said time will tell and I just wish the best for Mexico
Thank you so much to share with us. the feelings of this remarkable event for all Mexicans in Mexico and out of Mexico. and to see you guy's in the zocalo of Mexico city joined Amlo and whole Mexico. toma de protesta y VIVA MEXICO!!!!
You got to experience a very historic moment in Mexico. I would have loved to be there. The first time in 80 years that the people actually elected a new president. I think it would be equal to you being there for Obama's inauguration. Regardless of politics, truly a historic moment for Mexico and you where there! Loved seeing your perspective just as witnesses to something so monumental for this country.
Now you guys You are part of the history of Mexico , this video now is parte of the history , Amlo looks is the must beloved president of Mexico for many years
Alfonso Garcia Believe me, he will do it. not only for mexico. if not because the American continent needs an example of leadership and honesty. in his speech yesterday. He showed him Nicolas Maduro and Evo morals. not be dictators re-electing in power. I never liked AMLO. For looking populist. Since many people looser, they will want him to perform miracles. But AMLO is in the magnifying glass of the world and will know how to measure his power. he has a lot of experience!
GREAT TO SEE YOU GUYS DOING THIS VIDEO!!! :) Regardless our political views or whatever you want to call it this is real history in the making !
Great video. Thanks for being there and witness history. Also thanks for being there for all of the ones that couldn’t be there. Love you guys and thank you again
@@agusr3419¿No me digas?

Staying at home? You might as well not even go to Mexico. I would definitely be in the zocalo with everyone else. The portapotties are a huge improvement from when I was there (in ancient times, lol). The zocalo was crowded like that when I was there for New Year also - except there were no restrooms anywhere. Seeing something on TV is not the same as being there. You have to experience it.
They didn't have portapotties for New Years? I don't even want to know where people used the bathroom! We hope everything is going well for you Betty :)

Some on either side if the divide will criticize this video. As a political junkie of several decades pedigree , I think you do a good job threading the needle. You do a good job of exploring all aspects of Mexican culture and national life. There are some darker realities of life there, as life everywhere, that you have yet to explore. Perhaps one day you will. Then you will run the risk of committing journalism. Or, maybe not.
We won't see much journalism here. We've been living here for over 2 years- so unfortunately we have experienced some darker sides- but it's a big downer to be negative and focus on that! haha
Great video guys! FYI this AMLO guy is going to be great not just for Mexico, but for all of the Americas as a whole! Amazing speech he gave yesterday. Let's see if he delivers! Happy Sunday guys hope you guys are enjoying the holidays!
You guys did great and I like what you said about experiencing this for yourself, through your own eyes and seeing this major event from your own perspective instead of from What you hear or see on tv! They did it as a way to break the event, but those fuckers were part of the regime that killed those students, every mexican knows this and despise them for bringing this up in the middle of the ceremony, So yea it was a shameless act on their side but AMLO replied.
Maybe you don´t know but that was a unique event in history, just compared to the last one, 12/01/2012, there was a freaking riot, police and people got involved in a confrontation, it was awful, and then just see the difference. That ceremony were the indigenous people gives the ruler staff to AMLO was the only time that happened in our history. You are blessed to be witness of this new era.

Thanks for give us your point of view of this important Mexican event, special for us live in USA!!!!!!! Greetings from Idaho USA.
I've been crying through your whole video. My mother was born in Tancitaro, Michoacan in 1911 and I am so proud of being half Mexican. Thank you!

Octavio Chavez exactly
Viva AMLO yesterday was historical, with our new president, Viva Mexico. Thanks for the video!!😁👍

i really wish you guy's become Mexicans. becouse i can see you. my friends love Mexico so much. blessings y VIVA MEXICO!!!!
Now you guys
You are part of the history of Mexico , this video now is parte of the history , Amlo looks is the must beloved president of Mexico for many years
Alfonso Garcia not sure about that!!..most likely not!!!!
Just for 2018-2019
I love my country and I wish the best , do you ?
Not true.
Proud of our president! Wish I could be there.
As always Great video Guys! You are my favorites Gringos my friends. Mexico Love you!
GREAT TO SEE YOU GUYS DOING THIS VIDEO!!! :) Regardless our political views or whatever you want to call it this is real history in the making ! A day that will be talked about for many many years in the future. From the smallest community in Mexico to the biggest city, everybody were watching this broadcast.
Great video. Thanks for being there and witness history. Also thanks for being there for all of the ones that couldn’t be there. Love you guys and thank you again
@@agusr3419¿No me digas?
Thank you guys you are doing a great job communicating your cultural and traveling experiences in Mexico.
Guys, you are very responsible and respectful with us (culture, people and with the politics). This video reflect that!!! Thanks!!
I agree with you Niyu Luna, thanks Kennons. Mexico loves you ❤️
Thank you very much for making a video on this such historic event!!!
You did it well !.. you are presenting the culture , the events and traditions of Mexico. So it does not matter who won the elections or the political side, you are there now and you should show it.. good for you and thank you..

Hello!! Yesterday was a pleasure see to you and la güera in downtown!! you and la güera speak very well Spanish!! I hope see you again...
Hola Francisco! Glad we ran into you amigo :)
Thanks for sharing this moment in Mexico’s life.
Nice video guys. Thanks for sharing such historic event. I completely understand your point of view and idea behind this video. You guys want to share what’s happening in Mexico that’s it. I just wish the best luck to my home country. God bless Mexico 🇲🇽.
We all hope for the best for Mexico :) There are a lot of disagreements on how to get there- but we all want to be safe, secure, and have enough money to eat :)
Thank you for showing us this. You guys are fantastic.
I think it was cool you attended and showed us good footage from such a historic event, regardless of who I voted for, someone needed to share with us el Zocalo that night. Thank you guys.
Amlo our legitimate Mexican President,
Staying at home? You might as well not even go to Mexico. I would definitely be in the zocalo with everyone else. The portapotties are a huge improvement from when I was there (in ancient times, lol). The zocalo was crowded like that when I was there for New Year also - except there were no restrooms anywhere. Seeing something on TV is not the same as being there. You have to experience it.
They didn't have portapotties for New Years? I don't even want to know where people used the bathroom!
We hope everything is going well for you Betty :)
@@kinetickennons Thank you so much. Celebrated my b-day and my best friend's b-day last night at a seafood restaurant - Two 70ish ladies gettin' out. And the New Years - that was decades ago. Things have improved.

So glad to see u are quite mature and grown-up youtubers.... thanks a lot for showing this to us all.
Guys!! You just lived a historical moment! That ritual from the indigenous people was so relevant, so important, I assume that ritual, the last time took place in 1521!!! So, imagine you guys the significance to our ancestral cultures!! To all the mexicans that can appreciated this ancient cultures that we are proud, I was in tears guys, finally one president really acknowledged the importance of this land, our ancestors must be happy now.
Agustin Escobar Labastida Our ancestors are happy, no matter what. That is their legacy. That is what make us the most advanced country in the world.
I didn't know that an ancient ritual took place tht long ago by a president!? And may I ask why did they do it in this occasion?
Love your videos and Viva Mexico!🇲🇽

Congratulations Team Kennons!! I love that you decided to show the transition of power. It’s part of your travel journey and part of the Mexican culture.

I I watched the whole event through TV but your video was far more realistic enriching and gave me a very interesting perspective right from the actual zócalo. thank you very much for for taking the chance of going there and showed us the people, the flags, the speech and even the cute little Lopez obrador dolls.
All of the memorabilia was really funny to me! I didn't expect that at all! lol
It's funny how funny you are😏 That was the culture of the ancestors🤨 Forget about the political All presidents promise many things to win

Come, and: Live Mexico! 🇲🇽
We've been living here for over 2 years- so unfortunately we have experienced some darker sides- but it's a big downer to be negative and focus on that! haha
Great video thanks for showing us the celebration.
Great video guys! FYI this AMLO guy is going to be great not just for Mexico, but for all of the Americas as a whole! Amazing speech he gave yesterday. Let's see if he delivers! Happy Sunday guys hope you guys are enjoying the holidays!

You guys did great and I like what you said about experiencing this for yourself, through your own eyes and seeing this major event from your own perspective instead of from
What you hear or see on tv! You guys are digging deeper in to Mexico! It did seem much calmer than I expected from the comments you were receiving, Great video! 🇺🇸💙🇲🇽
I had tears in my eyes as the diputados counted to 43 for the ayotzinapa students... Viva México y viva AMLO! Que Dios lo cuide
I had tears reading your post. Justice for the 43 students . Viva Andre's Manuel lopez obrador. #AMLO
no digas mamadas
They did it as a way to break the event, but those fuckers were part of the regime that killed those students, every mexican knows this and despise them for bringing this up in the middle of the ceremony, So yea it was a shameless act on their side but AMLO replied.
Thx u! guys. Awesome job. Keep it up
Hola primer saludo!
Buenos dias Juan!
YOU HAVE TO GO TO LOS PINOS please. Love you guys
