    Yeah, when I found that "hack" it changed how I created everything. Glad you took the time to share this. I've been using it for some time now and the possibilities are endless.

      Right, it is cool that this works and certainly a good tool to know how to use.

    Hello, could you please explain how to convert any sound into an instrumental or a chant through Audio to MIDI in Mixcraft 10?
    Thank you

    Every time I go to open or hit activate on melodyne mixcraft just closes to my Home Screen, so I have to reopen mixcraft…over and over… can never get the melodyne to work

      I don't know if this is the case with you, but a while back I had several versions of Melodyne installed on the same PC. These had been installed with previous versions of Mixcraft. There was conflict between the versions, so I downloaded the latest version from the Melodyne site and uninstalled the old versions. It worked and has been reliable ever since. Perhaps you can get support from Acoustica.

    This is AMazing! Thank you so much for showing us this! How well does Melodyne handle transposing full songs with multiple instrument parts?

    • @GuitarBasement
      @GuitarBasement  3 года назад

      Thanks, glad you liked it. That's a good question. When I have a minute perhaps I'll try that and post the results. I've tried classical guitar music and you sometimes get a bit of a mess. I imagine you may have just too much editing to do to extract what you want from it. I'll put it on my todo list and see if I can get to it soon.

    • @Hawksearcher
      @Hawksearcher 3 года назад

      @@GuitarBasement True, especially if Melodyne extracts the audio file to one single midi lane. I would imagine that if you could find a version of a song that has its audio file separated into parts, it would work much better. I'll also try it out some time and let you know!

    The version of Melodyne which comes with Mixcraft is "Essential" which is monophonic. For handling polyphonic audio, you need "Editor" or "Studio". Were you able to do polyphonic audio to MIDI conversion with "Essential"?

    • @GuitarBasement
      @GuitarBasement  3 года назад

      I am no authority on what the different Melodyne versions do. Here's a more complex example of polyphonic music transcription: ruclips.net/video/_UF7pqUJBi0/видео.html. So yes, you can convert polyphonic audio to midi. As I understand it though, you can't use Melodyne Essential to edit individual notes of an analogue track. My examples only show modifying midi notes AFTER conversion.

      @@GuitarBasement Hi, Thanks for your speedy response. So glad that you enjoyed my Sax Playing. I also play flute, guitar and some keyboards. I enjoy engineering sound designs and working in MixCraft, for me way easier that Garage Band as I am also a PC and not very much in favor of Macbooks. I feel that I can learn so much from you regards to Setting up a Website with which I can feature my music all in one portal. Any Advise on this would be greatly appreciated. Hi, can you also provide steps or a video to install Melodyne so that I can take my Sax melodic line and convert to MIDI

    • @GuitarBasement
      @GuitarBasement  4 года назад +1

      I am not sure that I can repeat the steps to getting Melodyne working. There was some complication on my machine with a previous version being installed. After I uninstalled the old version I was able to get things working. Then i had to register and setup a new version. Mixcaft 9 originally came with Melodyne 4. It looks like they switched to Melodyne 5 now. I download 5 from the melodyne site and the same registration code worked. Let me see if I can outline the steps in a video this weekend.

      @@GuitarBasement so its just the "stock" melodyne integration feature on Mixcraft Pro?
      on their specs they say it only works on monophonic audio, yet you have proved it does polyphony too!!! thank you so much. guess i will grab the Black Friday 59 bucks offer to upgrade :D

    How can you play guitar but make it sound like piano on mix craft

    • @GuitarBasement
      @GuitarBasement  3 года назад

      Record your audio track in Mixcraft first. Then if you have Studio Pro version with Melodyne activated you can convert the file to a MIDI track. Once the MIDI track is created, use any available VST instrument on the MIDI track.
