Am I the only one disappointed/underwhelmed w Chanel ? This is a special year for Chanel beauty but I'm not sure the releases are actually that special or creative. Extremely bland packaging for sure. Fun maybe but we had several fun and colourful releases last year and gorgeous special releases over the years. Limited Edition does not equal special or unique or well curated. It just means you need to fight to get it not unlike people might fight over great discounts at their local Walmart... Spending more on this "experience" doesn't make us more sophisticated 😂
Well the last two releases this year, I mean since the Holidays, weren’t bad. Only this release looks a bit underwhelming but I still am attracted to the one and done eyeshadow.
I totally agree with what you are saying and have sent a few emails to Chanel stating the very same thing. They don't offer sales or get-with-purchase because it will lessen the brand, but they use aggressive marking with the never-ending "limited edition" releases to get you to buy their not-so-great collections. I have bought entire collections and never touched them....only because I may not be able to buy them at a later date. I can always sell them on the secondary markets if I don't like them. How is that luxury? Is this really any better than a sale or get-with-purchase? Is this the look Chanel is going for? Panic buying? I am so turned off by this that I have for the first time in my life, started buying other brands and am very happy with my purchases from them. I love Guerlain and Florasis. Chanel seems to be focused on the younger generations and has forgotten about the "old guard" like myself who has been buying them almost exclusively since 1982.
Oh wow, I don't see how those mascaras could look good on anyone except as an editorial look. However I was curious to see how they looked so thank you for showing them! I love the jade eyeshadow so pretty on you!
Finally, someone is talking about the crazy pricing for luxury beauty nowadays. I agree with you that it's too much. And I also agree with you that this release is kinda a mess. I never liked it when there were multiple products in one pan. And the shades selection is weird and all over the place. I may like a blush shade, but I don't like a bronzer or a highlighter, so then I need to buy two or three of these oversized products, but it just diminishes the original purpose of being the perfect 3-in-1 palette. If it was possible to select your preferred bronzer, blush and highlighter shade, it would make more sense.
Your rants on this collection is my favorite 😅. The only thing I will be getting the blanc single shadow and maybe the purple one. Interested in sampling the Comete fragrance as well. Thank you for sharing ❤
What works for me w colourful mascaras is actually doing black mascara first and applying the colour over. Also very helpful to make it look good is using an eyeliner in the same tone but few shades darker to add more definition to the eyes. And definitely put a beige or white liner in the water line
I wonder if this collection is marketed toward younger customers who are new to Chanel makeup. The mascaras are not for me, but I think all in all it’s very pretty. Strikes me as youthful and healthy. I don’t think I would purchase anything without trying in person. Thank you!

They are releasing into boutiques. They are raising the prices. They are staggering releases. Chanel probably hears the word "drops" with horror. They have to be careful how they use Jennie, put her on the expensive stuff for the customer Chanel REALLY wants, which is the boutique spender. They don't need the aspirational customer (go back to Coach and Lauder where she belongs 😂), they want the one already there who is getting the suit, and who wants the makeup to go with the suit. The 3-color palette fits into that, it's a one-season disposable for a higher income bracket. What else can they do? They don't want a carefully curated palette to sell out in under an hour. It leaves nothing for their boutique buyers. When I was young I liked the working professional aspect to Coco Chanel. I was also convent-raised like she was, the simple white-on-black was the code. Now on some days it just says rich dad, that's what these bronzers feel like, more TF or La Mer.
I have invisible lashes and blonde hair and I wouldn't go anywhere near that mascara - but thanks for taking one (or two) for the team! The eye shadow looks were both gorgeous, I love watching you do eye makeup, you have amazing skills, it always looks perfect.
Hi Jennifer - Thank you for your review. I was thinking that I was alone in my thoughts of the collection this year. I have for many years bought the Les Beiges collection but this year my thoughts have changed. I have enough highlighters, bronzers and blushes that I don't need a combined large compact. I am also branching out to other brands and have to thank you for trying and reviewing RMS Beauty as I have aging skin and feel I am looking for something Chanel is not offering. With living expenses increasing money has to be stretched many different ways so in evaluating my budget I will vary around my choices and cannot continuing purchasing Chanel exclusively. I still love Chanel I just have to evaluate my needs and not worry about the limited editions so much and FOMO. I hope I am not alone in this choice and I was happy to hear your review and agree with you wholeheartedly.
Because it's CHANEL, it will all sell out. I'm a long standing CHANEL lover - if I'm honest, they are missing the mark quite a bit for me lately. Money well saved and appreciate the review as always.

But, I did see another video where the creator mixed the med rose gold highligher and bronzer together...and it was stunning. Hi Jenn, I couldn’t agree more with you on this collection. I will get just the metallic jade eyeshadow , though I know it’s overpriced. I loved the lilac shade, but on my eyes it was really disappointing. Thanks again for your great work, as always.
Ooohhh I tried the comete . My SA gave me a sample as well and I wore it twice ….. I adore it . I’m 66 and I’ve worn Chanel no 5 almost exclusively since I was 16. Never really been overly tempted by another perfume for long. But this one. Ooohhh !!! I’m in Australia and I can get the 75 ml but I’m going to buy the 200 ml. I don’t care about the cost . Seriously It’s divine . Love the eyeshadows too, so far I have 5 of them. They wear so so well .
I am so happy that you mention the truth ,I wish more people would be honest. I don’t like the oversized palettes , and I’m not happy with the prices . I have been buying Chanel for years and love their makeup but I am not going to buy these palettes .
Ok I am very fair for reference Chanel B10, CDP O10, Valentino LN2 etc and I bought the Deep mauve. It is stunning! The "bronzer" is a deep plum brown. I don't bronze, but brontour the hollows of my cheeks. With a light hand fluffy brush it worked and blush was beautiful as well. I plan on using the three colors separately though. As for the price it is very much on par for the size of the palette compared to other brands.
I cant wait to get the parfum! 🎉 I agree with the brown ( cuir brun 928) eyeshadow that you love ( i think it was xmas 2020?), I love it too and bought two back ups at the time. Still going strong, and formula still beautiful, and the best "one and done" and long lasting shadow i have. ❤

Thanks for keeping it real and taking a financial hit for your viewers! We are the same skin tone and I had already decided to forgo this collection. Maybe I’d have been slightly tempted if it weren’t for the ever increasing prices. I’ve been having a blast with my Byredo palette and my Guerlain bronzer and blushes plus CdP highlighters are beautiful I also picked up a Patrick Ta blush, one from Rare Beauty and one from Valentino on sale and those are beautiful as well. Btw, the Lisa Eldridge skin tint in T3 is lovely, though the T1 works as well - still figuring out when to use which one…. the Comète sounds wonderful!
Oh my gosh Jennifer! Thank you so much for this video! Finally someone who just say as it is! Or at least I happen to feel precisely how you feel - I absolutely despise this idea of smacking all these products together in one pan, one huge pan. All I can see is a muddy mess after couple of use. Give me compact of blush, compact of bronzer and compact of highlighter (which I definitely don’t need), but not all together 😫 I also not a fan of single eyeshadows, I find myself never using them, so this release was so disappointing for me, but on a brighter side I saved some money! Thank you so much ❤
I genuinely don’t get the negativity in the comments about this collection it’s really easy, wearable. Let’s not get into ranting for the sake of it and to have a point of difference. I thought I wasn’t going to get the palette but (I got light coral) it is stunning on, either separately or together. It’s easy to get each colour separately on a decent size brush. It’s £75 here in the UK and you get a ton of product. £25 ea for a bronzer, blush, highlight? Not bad for Chanel.
The new Comete perfume caught my eye too - and I believe we share similar fragrance styles. So I’ll probably love it too! If you ever consider decanting fragrance samples from your collection, I would be your first customer! 😊
You are a woman after my own heart. I always say I should use those plastic kids’ plates with the compartments to eat. I like to be able to see my protein, vegetable and starch. I don’t mind if they touch, but I’m not a stew kind of woman. I also agree this Chanel powder release is a pass for me. Even the “cool” toned palettes have warm bronzers. Many pinks turn orange on me as it is, so a bronzer that leans remotely warm is going to make me look like a pumpkin. I don’t get Chanel or many of the other fashion houses. I’ll stick to Tom Ford Terra and Gucci Fair 1 and a few others. I did see one content creator who had the medium gold rose, swirl all three colors together and warm up her face with it and that took away some of the orange, but why would I spend $95 on a product like this to swirl everything together!?! I will pick up a couple of the singles when they are released more widely.
Who is Chanel's customer any more? Seriously. I follow Sofia Sees Beauty and she's in IT. She's in her early 30s and seems to have money to blow. She likes a lot of things that you and I dismiss. Of course, she doesn't have a history with these brands to compare the past products and prices that we do. I'm just being driven to other great brands out there. I'll try Swede Beauty. Your lashes are stunningly long. As for Chanel parfum, I used to wear some of the Les Exclusifs, but they raised their prices through the ozone. I now buy any of the ones I want from Selfridges. And I'm getting smaller bottles, if I get any at all. I have signature parfums in other brands, so I don't need these. And I'm more of an amber fan in perfumes. Thanks for your review! I love this review. I love the honesty, I also 💯 agree with the combined blush/bronzer/ highlight. I also agree on the single shadows - prefer a pallete. Although after agreeing with you on many many things I now will purchase Victoria Beckham shadow sticks
I am with you in that I don’t love a palette that has no dividers between the colors. I’m still kicking myself for not getting the lighter Chanel face palette from last year as that did appeal to me in a way that these do not. I have had the Talpa single for years and I enjoy it. I also enjoy those weird single shadows that came in the jars - I use those all the time! Thanks for reviewing these products as I was so curious about them. Hi Jen, I totally agree with you. I don’t like the idea of mixing up the bronzer and blush and highlighter either. I can’t control the shades of each even when I want to layer them together on my face.
for May and June, I will be on a no-buy for makeup as I really do not need anything else than what's in my stash now. I get sucked into buying with the limited edition hype....unfortunately. Like need another bronzer! 🙄I did buy the Chanel new Les Beiges bronzer and blush in light coral....🙈 But, I will be building my fragrance wardrobe with classic scents this year. Guerlain and Houbgant will be my focus. The 230 Gris Paris and 240 Brun Fauve are limited edition and I picked up both because I need a matte gray and a new red brown eyeshadow. I'm waiting for my sample of the Comete perfume before I take the plunge and buy. Holy crap on a cracker....it's $500.00! I better love it for that price point.
Personally I like colored mascara, especially on the lower lashes. I do a thick coat there. On the top lashes I coat them and then add a touch of black or dark brown to the tips. That way I don’t lose definition on them
I just love your reviews and appreciate your honesty. I look forward to better Chanel releases in the Fall perhaps. I’m going to use rivage and eclat de nuit a lot and wait patiently for something more interesting. I have the old Talpa eyeshadow and love it! Glad Chanel kept that one!
Thanks so much for reviewing these products and for giving your honest opinion of everything. While all of the products look beautiful on you, I like the eye shadows the best. The healthy glow palettes confuse me as the color configurations seem off and the mascaras are too “young” for me at 59. I like Chanel cosmetics a lot, but I get frustrated with the difficulty I have in finding what I want in stock online. I may have to contact your SA! Deserved. 5 Oversized Bronzers of which 4 look almost identical. It is disappointing. Again the warm undertones issue on the light shades.. i want one of them, but only to make a point of just going for the right shade, adjusting intensity if the formula allows to
And maybe it will be also my turning point in consumation if it disappointed. I understand that they want that piece of cake, watching the market spiraling into the skies but they still earn a fortune staying in the right lane of high end.

The only reason I’d be tempted by the mauve one is if blending all the colors together created that Fall mauve blush but even then it’s too much product 😂 Agree as well on prices. Also, the excitement with some of the powders is the design. This straight line design isn’t doing much for me. 😂 I want to sample the Cometé fragrance tho I think it might be for me as well!!
Very honest and realistic video. The only thing is that I can only see the blush on your face when you turn it. Try to wear it more in front of your face
I use the Deep Mauve all mixed together on my light medium with cool undertones as a blush and am really enjoying it. Don't really have anything like it in my blush collection.

So sorry the Les Beiges palettes are not working for you. Against popular opinion, I bought the deep mauve and deep rose gold (I'm a B20 in Chanel foundations) but I am so so glad I did and they work for me! And I can confirm that they are very pigmented and long lasting. (I'm one of those that wears the makeup from 8am-8pm, work long hours in the office, and expect high performance makeup). I've been using these for a whole week now and what I do is NOT to swirl the brush to mix all the 3 colours; instead, I lightly "drag" my brush up-down and down-up for both the deep palettes and then apply as all over bronzer. Using a slightly smaller brush, I then use the pink or purply-pink to top up on my cheeks. All very controlled since they are extremely pigmented and I'm light skin-toned. And then I use a powder foundation in the center of my face to harmonise it all. I also use both palettes on my eyes for a really nice monochromatic look. I'll tell you --> these last all day! And I hardly use setting spray. I only use the Givenchy Prisme Libre loose powder to "set" my makeup. For reference, I have drier skin in winter and more combination skin in the summer.
Obviously noone swatched the eyeshadow shade Rouge Cosmos. This is limited in Europe. I bought it, and I have to say it is terrific. Especially for blue/ green eyes.

I’d love a comparison of new Mono shadows from Chanel, Dior and CDP. They have overlapping shade options, if not exact formula, texture. Would love to know which you prefer, pigmentation, etc.
It’s great to here more cool tones are coming in make up. I’m so tired of trying to fit my cool fair skin into the popular warm colors everywhere. I used to love the single eye shadows so I’ll probably at least give them a look. Is there a color you recommend for a one and done?
I agree. When I saw the $90 price for what it is, I said no way! I am very disappointed in the direction Chanel seems to be taking. I expected great things because it is an anniversary year. The products themselves are underwhelming, and the way they are released, to me is disingenuous. It's like they are playing with customers to create a frenzied atmosphere and a competition to get a particular "limited edition" item. This is a hard pass for me. I have always been a Chanel lover/collector. I don't know who there target audience is, but I'm thinking it's not me anymore.

It’s smart to do oversized and single product, because they get to charge us more for the component mostly, but yeah I hate oversized. I did buy the Chanel oversized highlight from the holiday , and immediately when trying to store it was like, why did I do that?! I’ve decluttered pretty much all my oversized stuff. I’m trying to stay firming in not buying it, to vote with my dollars.
If you tried a coat of dark blue or even black mascara and then tried the lilac as a topper would that work? I’m guessing probably not but it might be an interesting experiment. I’m glad I watched your review on the giant powders because it’s a pass for me. I know that bronzer is designed to be warm, but they are really warm. The single shadows look great, but the perfume looks like the best of your haul. I’m excited to give the perfume a try! Hopefully, the perfume will show up at Harrods because last year I picked up Chanel 1957 and even with steep shipping it was less than the boutique price in the US.

I agree I can’t stand the three products in one and Tom Ford was doing that for a while. Thank you so much for your honesty and please always tell us when a product is worth the money and when it’s not we need honesty especially when we’re gonna be spending a stupid amount of money on Make up everything is crazy. Even a frosty at Wendy’s is outrageous everywhere you go you feel like you’re getting ripped off and we understand and I’m like you I can afford certain things but I just haven’t been able to purchase because it just doesn’t feel right I hope things get better with inflation and everything because I’m OK but I want everybody else to be better to and we’re very fortunate. We can even be thinking about luxury make up and if we can spend two to $500 or $1000 on make up and donate it to something positive unless it is worth the money, and it’s something where the brand is excelling to excellent, but if it’s just Using its name and selling crap it’s our job as consumers so stop buying it until they make the jet the change so again I have followed you since the beginning and I am a fellow redhead, so I am extremely face like you, and the truth wins every time we love you so much, Jennifer you keep us entertained and I hope you reach your goal of 10,000 very soonGod bless Lauren

Hi Jen, I did touch some of the eyeshadow a few months ago to test the texture, I have to say they were pretty dry and hard in the pan for my taste. Probably because they were samples and everyone was touching them.
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for featuring these new Les Beiges items. I agree with your assessment of the highlighter/bronzer/blush compacts - out-dated and impractical design and too expensive. The limited shade range in the new single eyeshadows makes me suspect that Chanel had been planning a wider release and most of the collection is stuck in production. Lash lightening mascaras… WT??? I have purchased every Chanel collection released over the past year and I am not tempted in the least to pick up any of the new items - even on sale. As usual, I appreciate your swatches and demos. Ha ha, I love the analogy! I don't like my food to touch either! "But", I have been on a makeup low-buy and I bought two. I have only worn one , but so far I think they are great in general and for travel. I had skipped the oversized bronzers, and the oversized face & eye pallets from last year. But compared to Hourglass (which everyone goes gaga over), all the product/shades are usable. On a side note, single shades (eye) do nothing for me!
I am not an all in one palette girl because I am very picky about the colors I like. I was also very interested in the deep mauve of all the options just because I want it more for a blush option.
Chanel pricing is getting ridiculous I agree across all items in their brand. I got to try the oversized healthy glow powder and really liked the light coral. I didn’t want to purchase before trying because 😮 $95. It’s already sold out by Friday. Luckily my SA was able to pin one down. I love the oversized bronzers from 2 years, it’s my favorite! So much so I do take it with when I travel. My only gripe is it’s oversized….i would prefer they rerelease it into a normal size. Frankly I’m fatigued by all the oversized compacts by Chanel. Can we go to normal size with less crazy prices? Also, I wanted to get a sample of Comete but my boutique didn’t have any of the samples yet. However, I can tell the SA’s are trying to really sell it. 😆

I completely agree with you on this Chanel powder. The price is maybe forgivable if the product was better. I have similar glow powders from Chanel that are 10 yrs old with this same concept of blush, illuminating powder and they’re not great - formula just isn’t good enough. Then the shades - the lightest won’t work for me because it’s too warm and medium is too deep. I don’t know who this product is for because there are better options with this concept. I can see wanting one compact like this for travel or long day out at the beach, but not this one! Chanel innovation is working in reverse.

I agree, it’s an easy pass. Nothing special about this, all the blushes they released in the all latest collections, are similar, and bronzer, It’s hard for me to find warm enough. And just got 2 YSL and Hermes, now this would be great m for those my younger days, when I was beach girl, very tanned and minimal makeup. It’s like all in one, but now I don’t need one product to have all. Eyeshadows I have way too many quads, quints, palettes, I don’t need single ones. Mascara I do love Allure mascara, but I already have both black and red. Have a blessed day🙏❤️
The byredo new palette is amazing. I need to try Sweed eyeshadows but the rest of the products are amazing and RMS has amazing blushes. I’ll be trying more of their products soon!
Personally, I have no need of a single compact that contains blusher, bronzer, and highlighter. I can understand, however, that it would have an appeal for someone who was doing a lot of traveling where traveling light was a requirement. Last year, my son and daughter-in-law traveled around Europe for a month with nothing but one carry on each. My beautiful daughter-in-law took a similar type of palette with her (a fraction of the price-I think it was Charlotte Tilbury) and then tossed it when they got on the plane to come home. I agree with you that there are so many similar products, do we really need to be paying top dollar for something we don’t really need?
These weird light pastel color mascaras will look weird on everyone, it’ll either aged people or make people look like aliens. Maybe use it for some Halloween special makeup effect but on normal days… it’s a fail product, maybe not the formula of the mascara, but the colors. I am as pale as you’re, and agree that Chanel should’ve come out a Light Rose Gold palette, no one wants an orangey tanned face while the rest of the body are fair.

What works for me w colourful mascaras is actually doing black mascara first and applying the colour over. Also very helpful to make it look good is using an eyeliner in the same tone but few shades darker to add more definition to the eyes. And definitely put a beige or white liner in the water line

I wonder if this collection is marketed toward younger customers who are new to Chanel makeup. The mascaras are not for me, but I think all in all it’s very pretty. Strikes me as youthful and healthy. I don’t think I would purchase anything without trying in person. Thank you!

They are releasing into boutiques. They are raising the prices. They are staggering releases. Chanel probably hears the word "drops" with horror. They have to be careful how they use Jennie, put her on the expensive stuff for the customer Chanel REALLY wants, which is the boutique spender. They don't need the aspirational customer (go back to Coach and Lauder where she belongs 😂), they want the one already there who is getting the suit, and who wants the makeup to go with the suit. The 3-color palette fits into that, it's a one-season disposable for a higher income bracket.
What else can they do? They don't want a carefully curated palette to sell out in under an hour. It leaves nothing for their boutique buyers. When I was young I liked the working professional aspect to Coco Chanel. I was also convent-raised like she was, the simple white-on-black was the code. Now on some days it just says rich dad, that's what these bronzers feel like, more TF or La Mer.
Beige sable is the one i repurchase the most often and I always have a back up, so i’m glad it’s still in the permanent collection!!
I have invisible lashes and blonde hair and I wouldn't go anywhere near that mascara - but thanks for taking one (or two) for the team! The eye shadow looks were both gorgeous, I love watching you do eye makeup, you have amazing skills, it always looks perfect.

Hi Jennifer - Thank you for your review. I was thinking that I was alone in my thoughts of the collection this year. I have for many years bought the Les Beiges collection but this year my thoughts have changed. I have enough highlighters, bronzers and blushes that I don't need a combined large compact. I am also branching out to other brands and have to thank you for trying and reviewing RMS Beauty as I have aging skin and feel I am looking for something Chanel is not offering. With living expenses increasing money has to be stretched many different ways so in evaluating my budget I will vary around my choices and cannot continuing purchasing Chanel exclusively. I still love Chanel I just have to evaluate my needs and not worry about the limited editions so much and FOMO. I hope I am not alone in this choice and I was happy to hear your review and agree with you wholeheartedly.

Ooohhh I tried the comete . My SA gave me a sample as well and I wore it twice ….. I adore it . I’m 66 and I’ve worn Chanel no 5 almost exclusively since I was 16. Never really been overly tempted by another perfume for long. But this one. Ooohhh !!! I’m in Australia and I can get the 75 ml but I’m going to buy the 200 ml. I don’t care about the cost . Seriously It’s divine . Love the eyeshadows too, so far I have 5 of them. They wear so so well .

I don’t like the oversized palettes , and I’m not happy with the prices . I have been buying Chanel for years and love their makeup but I am not going to buy these palettes .
Ok I am very fair for reference Chanel B10, CDP O10, Valentino LN2 etc and I bought the Deep mauve. It is stunning! The "bronzer" is a deep plum brown. I don't bronze, but brontour the hollows of my cheeks. With a light hand fluffy brush it worked and blush was beautiful as well. I plan on using the three colors separately though. As for the price it is very much on par for the size of the palette compared to other brands.

Maybe I’d have been slightly tempted if it weren’t for the ever increasing prices. I’ve been having a blast with my Byredo palette and my Guerlain bronzer and blushes plus CdP highlighters are beautiful I also picked up a Patrick Ta blush, one from Rare Beauty and one from Valentino on sale and those are beautiful as well. Btw, the Lisa Eldridge skin tint in T3 is lovely, though the T1 works as well - still figuring out when to use which one…. the Comète sounds wonderful!
Oh my gosh Jennifer! Thank you so much for this video! Finally someone who just say as it is! Or at least I happen to feel precisely how you feel - I absolutely despise this idea of smacking all these products together in one pan, one huge pan. All I can see is a muddy mess after couple of use. Give me compact of blush, compact of bronzer and compact of highlighter (which I definitely don’t need), but not all together 😫 I also not a fan of single eyeshadows, I find myself never using them, so this release was so disappointing for me, but on a brighter side I saved some money! Thank you so much ❤
I genuinely don’t get the negativity in the comments about this collection it’s really easy, wearable. Let’s not get into ranting for the sake of it and to have a point of difference. I thought I wasn’t going to get the palette but (I got light coral) it is stunning on, either separately or together. It’s easy to get each colour separately on a decent size brush. It’s £75 here in the UK and you get a ton of product. £25 ea for a bronzer, blush, highlight? Not bad for Chanel.
The new Comete perfume caught my eye too - and I believe we share similar fragrance styles. So I’ll probably love it too! If you ever consider decanting fragrance samples from your collection, I would be your first customer! 😊
You are a woman after my own heart. I always say I should use those plastic kids’ plates with the compartments to eat. I like to be able to see my protein, vegetable and starch. I don’t mind if they touch, but I’m not a stew kind of woman. I also agree this Chanel powder release is a pass for me. Even the “cool” toned palettes have warm bronzers. Many pinks turn orange on me as it is, so a bronzer that leans remotely warm is going to make me look like a pumpkin. I don’t get Chanel or many of the other fashion houses. I’ll stick to Tom Ford Terra and Gucci Fair 1 and a few others. I did see one content creator who had the medium gold rose, swirl all three colors together and warm up her face with it and that took away some of the orange, but why would I spend $95 on a product like this to swirl everything together!?! I will pick up a couple of the singles when they are released more widely.
Who is Chanel's customer any more? Seriously. I follow Sofia Sees Beauty and she's in IT. She's in her early 30s and seems to have money to blow. She likes a lot of things that you and I dismiss. Of course, she doesn't have a history with these brands to compare the past products and prices that we do. I'm just being driven to other great brands out there. I'll try Swede Beauty. Your lashes are stunningly long.
As for Chanel parfum, I used to wear some of the Les Exclusifs, but they raised their prices through the ozone. I now buy any of the ones I want from Selfridges. And I'm getting smaller bottles, if I get any at all. I have signature parfums in other brands, so I don't need these. And I'm more of an amber fan in perfumes.

I am with you in that I don’t love a palette that has no dividers between the colors. I’m still kicking myself for not getting the lighter Chanel face palette from last year as that did appeal to me in a way that these do not. I have had the Talpa single for years and I enjoy it. I also enjoy those weird single shadows that came in the jars - I use those all the time! Thanks for reviewing these products as I was so curious about them. Hi Jen, I totally agree with you. I don’t like the idea of mixing up the bronzer and blush and highlighter either. I can’t control the shades of each even when I want to layer them together on my face.
for May and June, I will be on a no-buy for makeup as I really do not need anything else than what's in my stash now. I get sucked into buying with the limited edition hype....unfortunately. Like need another bronzer! 🙄I did buy the Chanel new Les Beiges bronzer and blush in light coral....🙈 But, I will be building my fragrance wardrobe with classic scents this year. Guerlain and Houbgant will be my focus. The 230 Gris Paris and 240 Brun Fauve are limited edition and I picked up both because I need a matte gray and a new red brown eyeshadow. I'm waiting for my sample of the Comete perfume before I take the plunge and buy. Holy crap on a cracker....it's $500.00! I better love it for that price point.
Personally I like colored mascara, especially on the lower lashes. I do a thick coat there. On the top lashes I coat them and then add a touch of black or dark brown to the tips. That way I don’t lose definition on them
I just love your reviews and appreciate your honesty. I look forward to better Chanel releases in the Fall perhaps. I’m going to use rivage and eclat de nuit a lot and wait patiently for something more interesting. I have the old Talpa eyeshadow and love it! Glad Chanel kept that one!

The healthy glow palettes confuse me as the color configurations seem off and the mascaras are too “young” for me at 59. I like Chanel cosmetics a lot, but I get frustrated with the difficulty I have in finding what I want in stock online. I may have to contact your SA! I picked up the Brun Talpa shade a few months ago and it is such a great basic taupe shade to go with many looks.
Deserved. 5 Oversized Bronzers of which 4 look almost identical. It is disappointing. Again the warm undertones issue on the light shades.. i want one of them, but only to make a point of just going for the right shade, adjusting intensity if the formula allows to
And maybe it will be also my turning point in consumation if it disappointed. I understand that they want that piece of cake, watching the market spiraling into the skies but they still earn a fortune staying in the right lane of high end.

I use the Deep Mauve all mixed together on my light medium with cool undertones as a blush and am really enjoying it. Don't really have anything like it in my blush collection.

So sorry the Les Beiges palettes are not working for you. Against popular opinion, I bought the deep mauve and deep rose gold (I'm a B20 in Chanel foundations) but I am so so glad I did and they work for me! And I can confirm that they are very pigmented and long lasting. (I'm one of those that wears the makeup from 8am-8pm, work long hours in the office, and expect high performance makeup). I've been using these for a whole week now and what I do is NOT to swirl the brush to mix all the 3 colours; instead, I lightly "drag" my brush up-down and down-up for both the deep palettes and then apply as all over bronzer. Using a slightly smaller brush, I then use the pink or purply-pink to top up on my cheeks. All very controlled since they are extremely pigmented and I'm light skin-toned. And then I use a powder foundation in the center of my face to harmonise it all. I also use both palettes on my eyes for a really nice monochromatic look. I'll tell you --> these last all day! And I hardly use setting spray. I only use the Givenchy Prisme Libre loose powder to "set" my makeup. For reference, I have drier skin in winter and more combination skin in the summer.
Obviously noone swatched the eyeshadow shade Rouge Cosmos. This is limited in Europe. I bought it, and I have to say it is terrific. Especially for blue/ green eyes.

I’d love a comparison of new Mono shadows from Chanel, Dior and CDP. They have overlapping shade options, if not exact formula, texture. Would love to know which you prefer, pigmentation, etc.
It’s great to here more cool tones are coming in make up. I’m so tired of trying to fit my cool fair skin into the popular warm colors everywhere. I used to love the single eye shadows so I’ll probably at least give them a look. Is there a color you recommend for a one and done?
I agree. When I saw the $90 price for what it is, I said no way! I am very disappointed in the direction Chanel seems to be taking. I expected great things because it is an anniversary year. The products themselves are underwhelming, and the way they are released, to me is disingenuous. It's like they are playing with customers to create a frenzied atmosphere and a competition to get a particular "limited edition" item. This is a hard pass for me. I have always been a Chanel lover/collector. I don't know who there target audience is, but I'm thinking it's not me anymore.

I may get that metallic jade, but that probably it. It’s smart to do oversized and single product, because they get to charge us more for the component mostly, but yeah I hate oversized. I did buy the Chanel oversized highlight from the holiday , and immediately when trying to store it was like, why did I do that?! I’ve decluttered pretty much all my oversized stuff. I’m trying to stay firming in not buying it, to vote with my dollars.
If you tried a coat of dark blue or even black mascara and then tried the lilac as a topper would that work? I’m guessing probably not but it might be an interesting experiment. I’m glad I watched your review on the giant powders because it’s a pass for me. I know that bronzer is designed to be warm, but they are really warm. The single shadows look great, but the perfume looks like the best of your haul. I’m excited to give the perfume a try! Hopefully, the perfume will show up at Harrods because last year I picked up Chanel 1957 and even with steep shipping it was less than the boutique price in the US.

I agree I can’t stand the three products in one and Tom Ford was doing that for a while. Thank you so much for your honesty and please always tell us when a product is worth the money and when it’s not we need honesty especially when we’re gonna be spending a stupid amount of money on Make up everything is crazy. Even a frosty at Wendy’s is outrageous everywhere you go you feel like you’re getting ripped off and we understand and I’m like you I can afford certain things but I just haven’t been able to purchase because it just doesn’t feel right I hope things get better with inflation and everything because I’m OK but I want everybody else to be better to and we’re very fortunate. We can even be thinking about luxury make up and if we can spend two to $500 or $1000 on make up and donate it to something positive unless it is worth the money, and it’s something where the brand is excelling to excellent, but if it’s just Using its name and selling crap it’s our job as consumers so stop buying it until they make the jet the change so again I have followed you since the beginning and I am a fellow redhead, so I am extremely face like you, and the truth wins every time we love you so much, Jennifer you keep us entertained and I hope you reach your goal of 10,000 very soonGod bless Lauren

Hi Jennifer! Thank you for featuring these new Les Beiges items. I agree with your assessment of the highlighter/bronzer/blush compacts - out-dated and impractical design and too expensive. The limited shade range in the new single eyeshadows makes me suspect that Chanel had been planning a wider release and most of the collection is stuck in production. Lash lightening mascaras… WT??? I have purchased every Chanel collection released over the past year and I am not tempted in the least to pick up any of the new items - even on sale. As usual, I appreciate your swatches and demos. Ha ha, I love the analogy! I don't like my food to touch either! "But", I have been on a makeup low-buy and I bought two. I have only worn one , but so far I think they are great in general and for travel. I had skipped the oversized bronzers, and the oversized face & eye pallets from last year. But compared to Hourglass (which everyone goes gaga over), all the product/shades are usable. On a side note, single shades (eye) do nothing for me!
I am not an all in one palette girl because I am very picky about the colors I like. I was also very interested in the deep mauve of all the options just because I want it more for a blush option.
Tom ford did this kind of palette multiples times too.

Chanel pricing is getting ridiculous I agree across all items in their brand. I got to try the oversized healthy glow powder and really liked the light coral. I didn’t want to purchase before trying because 😮 $95. It’s already sold out by Friday. Luckily my SA was able to pin one down. I love the oversized bronzers from 2 years, it’s my favorite! So much so I do take it with when I travel. My only gripe is it’s oversized….i would prefer they rerelease it into a normal size. Frankly I’m fatigued by all the oversized compacts by Chanel. Can we go to normal size with less crazy prices? Also, I wanted to get a sample of Comete but my boutique didn’t have any of the samples yet. However, I can tell the SA’s are trying to really sell it. 😆

I completely agree with you on this Chanel powder. The price is maybe forgivable if the product was better. I have similar glow powders from Chanel that are 10 yrs old with this same concept of blush, illuminating powder and they’re not great - formula just isn’t good enough. Then the shades - the lightest won’t work for me because it’s too warm and medium is too deep. I don’t know who this product is for because there are better options with this concept. I can see wanting one compact like this for travel or long day out at the beach, but not this one! Chanel innovation is working in reverse.

I agree, it’s an easy pass. Nothing special about this, all the blushes they released in the all latest collections, are similar, and bronzer, It’s hard for me to find warm enough. And just got 2 YSL and Hermes, now this would be great m for those my younger days, when I was beach girl, very tanned and minimal makeup. It’s like all in one, but now I don’t need one product to have all. Eyeshadows I have way too many quads, quints, palettes, I don’t need single ones. Mascara I do love Allure mascara, but I already have both black and red. Have a blessed day🙏❤️

Personally, I have no need of a single compact that contains blusher, bronzer, and highlighter. I can understand, however, that it would have an appeal for someone who was doing a lot of traveling where traveling light was a requirement. Last year, my son and daughter-in-law traveled around Europe for a month with nothing but one carry on each. My beautiful daughter-in-law took a similar type of palette with her (a fraction of the price-I think it was Charlotte Tilbury) and then tossed it when they got on the plane to come home. I agree with you that there are so many similar products, do we really need to be paying top dollar for something we don’t really need?

These weird light pastel color mascaras will look weird on everyone, it’ll either aged people or make people look like aliens. Maybe use it for some Halloween special makeup effect but on normal days… it’s a fail product, maybe not the formula of the mascara, but the colors. I am as pale as you’re, and agree that Chanel should’ve come out a Light Rose Gold palette, no one wants an orangey tanned face while the rest of the body are fair.
