Hey man, loved the reaction! I suggest doing "A Sailor's Tale" song. It has no music video, if that's a requirement. For songs with music videos: Nensha Strangler Descent Saw Redfog The Shadowing Open Eye There are more, but just to give you my recommendations! :)
Melodic Death Metal is one of the metal genres I enjoy when done well. I listened to at least 20 albums in 2023 that could qualify as Melodic Death Metal. Descent by Orbit Culture would be in my top 10 but not in my top 5. My top 5 are (at least today) - 5. The Singularity (Phase II - Xenotaph) by Scar Symmetry (I will see them at ProgPower) 4. A Sign Of Things To Come by Sylosis 3. Kalmah by Kalmah (although self titled, the band has been around for more than 20 years) 2. Anno 1696 by Insomnium 1. Air Not Meant For Us by Fires in the Distance (IMHO, a masterpiece) Edit: Although probably more Melodic Doom, I want to mention The Garden by Hanging Garden. It is one of my absolute favorite albums from 2023 in any genre.
I usually don’t gravitate towards something like this, because the musicality usually gets really messy/compressed (just my opinion)…..but you said exactly what I was thinking. You can pick out and hear every instrument. Clean transitions, awesome drumming, fast and technical…..I really liked this. Going to have to check out more of them.

Niklas does just about everything you can think of. Guitar, only vocalist, producer, mixer, mastermind.
They are amazing. We are one with orbit culture
This band is really starting to grow on me.
You need to go back and listen to everything, especially the nija album and the track North Star of nija live in studio

It's Orbit Culture, so you know it's gonna be a banger. Some heavy content tho. Come prepared. 🤘
