Woodpeckers new Add-an-Inch Block provides a safe and accurate way to make multiple short cross-cuts. Clamp the block to your rip fence well in front of the blade, then slide your stock to the block and make the cut. The offset between the block and the fence protects against trapping the cut pieces between the blade and the fence. As a bonus, since the block is exactly one inch wide, you can use the scale on your rip fence to set the desired dimension…just add an inch, set the fence and get ready to cut stacks of identical blocks.
