Prong - Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck (Stereo)

- nothing breeds more contempt for this world
than memories now formed every moment
a new seed is grown to no reason the
trouble unfolds for the trials of today
i'm no jury really don't care how you feel the pleasant notion of miraculous change
drifts into multiple jeers you want the good life
you break your back you snap your fingers
you snap your neck seconds drip thru my hands
washed of moments unborn all the spaces
between bleed a tribute to a sacrament
never exposed a message to the forces,
I've no pity don't know how thankful to feel expectations
of my daily bread gives me the hunger to steal
Glad the youth of today have this. When I was a kiddie you hoped n prayed MTV would show it on hbb.
Expectations of my daily bread give me the hunger to steal.
still sounds as fresh as the day i first heard it. a true metal classic. prong are super under rated
This song still hits hard even 20 years later...
Kicks ass . I can't tell you how many times I almodt snspped my own neck jamming to this .
30 years later...
Nice picture fitting for this song , I think the picture Prong used maybe maybe was from a old SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN cover from Frank Frazetta don't quote me
Prong (and Helmet too) paved the way for so many bands for years to come, shame they didn't get the widescale recognition (success) they deserved but they certainly have the respect from those of us who know.
TrephineArtist true
Thank you for mentioning Helmet.
TrephineArtist Helmet's Meantime album is a straight killer start to finish
TrephineArtist true
I wish they give a concert with Ministry and Fear factory
Im an old school headbanger..... like I remember the day Kill Em All came out. This song just KICKS ASS. Pay attention kids. They don't make em like this anymore
Old school here as well, I agree with ya... still a metalhead at 44....
Eric Jones 45 here mate
+crinoid1919 Good music is timeless , come on guy , you know that!!
well I'm 16 right now I guess I paid attention because I'm one of a few people my age who actually knows prong and six feet under and even dethklok and the only other person who likes what I like is my best friend
you are on the path to wisdom my young friend. This may not be your cup of tea, but have you tried Infectious Grooves? they are another rare ass kicking gem of a band. give em a chance. its some of the members of Suicidal Tendencies.. who is another band you should know :D
This band is the only reason I went to prom. This girl named Jamie came up to me while I had and still was drinking wild turkey, and asked me if I would go to prom. Well being drunk and partially def in one ear I thought she said prong haha and I was like "sure hell yeah I'll go with you" the next day she called me and told me she was so happy I said I would go to prom with her lol yeah ,true story. I did like I said go through with the prom date, but there was no prong
Your sense of compassion is overdeveloped. . .
and then you woke up?
well did you at least give her the prong?
Karl Unterreiner Yep, this story checks out....
Karl Unterreiner yep prep she dumped you 😂
When I was a wee lad at the age of 4 or 5, I would demand this song be played on loop in the car whenever we went somewhere. I'm quite happy my father raised me right.
Prong and other bands of this caliber weren't meant to be heard by all.. our circle was meant to be small...
Jessica Morrow True but we are alot harder
couldn't agree more......comment of the day my lady
Jessica Morrow so true
They came with Helmut not but a year ago
🤘truth
Prong is in my favs with Corrosion of Conformity, Helmet and Clutch! Real rock real groove! Real man's rock!
thats funny; i listened 2 "clean my wounds" COC right b4 this. it musta reminded me of this song, cuz i was like, "oh,remember "snap your fingers, snap your neck?! i gotta hear that now." jus taking a little stroll down memory lane...good times.
Just listened to COC clean my wounds too. I listen to it every morning before I go to work. Added with a little bit of FEAR to my morning coffee.
Played this out 43 times never had a bad response
you had me up to Helmet
Ladies like this tooooo!
Prong is killer, definitely ahead of they're time. They have been a big influence for alot of bands.Check out they're discography. They've always written good songs with that heavy, precise, and groove-laden sound.
This is what good music sounded like before all you kids started stretching out your earlobes and going gluten free.
my ears are stretched and I'm probably throwing down more thrash and harder shit than you all day!
+Thomas Derbyshire Good for you. I'm tattooed and pierced and make art out of dead animals.
Get a sense of humor and learn to accept a compliment for what it is. Rewind this song, turn up the bass, and chill man.
+DollyTheLlama I rock this shit daily, and was fucking with you. The art sounds cool
kudos m8
Word!
I don't always listen to prong on a tuesday night @ 2:11 A.M. but when i do so does my neighbor downstairs \m/

-Your neighbor
2/8/2019: 62 years old, this is great thanks new knife throwing music with a Jameson chaser.
One of the sickest riffs out there. PRONG is badass.
This genre of metal is tragically under appreciated.
Industrial/Thrash? It's a rare combo, Strapping Young Lad are the only other that come to mind, but I'm sure there's more who fit that description. Guessing you mostly meant Industrial, which is an awesome subgenre regardless
This song never get old
Few songs rock harder than this song right here. Still playing this on repeat in my CD player all these years later, incredible.
NotAnUndercoverCop justin credible?
Right were did they go
A CD player what's that lol. Ok I'm 36 most of mine have been stolen lost or scratched to shit of her the year. The cloud so far is working for me. HelI even bought a pickup without a CD player only digital media can be played in that thing

Nice
I´m 50 now but when i listen to it in my car as loud as hell, i can´t stop banging like in the good old days...makes me feel young ,beautiful and agressive again!!
Not everyone listens to this, but when I do.... ok you probably get where this is going.
This is what good music sounds like! Ive been listening to these guys for years and will till the day I die. Such a good song. Never gets old! \m/ \m/ Shout out to all my old school metal brothers who grew up on good rock and metal back in the 80s when mtv actually played music
A Classic Metal Song!
👊
Without a doubt a classic song.
they sure don't make music like this anymore
Damn straight brother. I'm 40, I remember when music was still good. I feel sorry for todays youth that will never experience what it's like to have music like this tossed at them from every angle. I'll be a headbanger till I die.
I dunno. In the late nineties it sure went for a tailspin. Music was just so damn good for so many decades it's hard to see what become of it. I cant believe the masses swallow what the industry shoves down their throat. I still have my cd's tho...and tapes ; )
Not really I guess. What makes 2003 a specific drop off point? What I know for sure is that the industry is geared toward making a product that sounds good to the greatest amount of people. Talent and innovation take a back seat to profits. The people that gobble up the latest shit that the industry feeds them far out number those with discerning ears. Until people get fed up with rehashed hits made on a computer, most "music" will be trash.
AMEN!!
Kim Martin I've read the whole thread and still can't get your point. Bands from the 80's 90's and 2000's is a vague concept, since a lot ot them are still in activity. Do you mean that even those bands suck nowadays? Or you mean there is no good NEW band starting after 2003?
Anyways, I like Prong today because it reminds me good times. But for Metal Music standards from their time, they really sucked. For instance, by 1994 (the year of Snap your fingers) we had Pantera, Fear Factory and Sepultura... the standards where veeeery high, and Prong sounded as just some commercial jiberjaber "industrial" metal.
Goddamnit Prong, come back. We need you.
They still tour and released an album not too long ago
still going strong..caught them here in Ottawa few years ago-and they beat the daylights out of this song.
Sirius Turbo channel played this the other day and i cant get enough nor louder,ROCK OUT... BC loggers rule👍
Prong. Hatchback open at the Juno Inlet Park in Florida, playing frisbee, smoking and beer drinking. It was a good life. I thank Prong for the early albums that we irritated other park visitors with. Is that bad? Heh. It was awesome.
Good song for family reunions and weddings.
wow... got to nick this one lmfao!*!
Thanks!😂
He's not just the coolest, he's not just the greatest, he is *JUSTIN CREDIBLE*
This is classic. Aggressive but the pace is controlled.
Year after year, I find myself coming back to this song, as well as a few others.
First time I heard this song in 15+ years! Still an Awesome song!!!!
I remember a night of coke , a sweet metal chick and this song over and over again as we lived that night like It was the Las night on the planet , thanks prong !
Nothing, breeds, more contempt
For this world than the memories now formed
Every moment a new seed,
Is grown to no reason, the trouble unfolds
For the trials, of today, I'm no jury
I really don't care how you feel
The pleasant notion of miraculous change
Drifts into multiple jeers
(Chorus)
You want the good life
You break your back
You snap your fingers
You snap your neck
Seconds drip, thru my hands
Washed of moments unborn
All the spaces between bleed
A tribute to a sacrament
Never exposed
A message to the forces
I've no pity don't know
How thankful to feel
Expectations of my daily bread
Gives me the hunger to steal
(Chorus)
You want the good life
You break your back
You snap your fingers
You snap your neck
repeat chorus
Ya! this one still my favorite song xx
Went to see Prong perform live in '95, especially so my gf and I could headbang to this song!! Also had a promo VHS concert video of Prong Live in Baltimore '94.
holy shit, my legs r jamming under the table in the work and my colleagues r watching me like im totally wicked
Yup
i went to a danzig concert in 2008 and 2009 and the guitarist looked familiar. it was this guy the singer. i only wished i screamed out "prong". prove u wrong!!!!! Expectations of my daily bread gives me the hunger to steal!!!
Hey Bevis this is cool
Huhuhu ya this rock's.
isn't this band Shlong?
heh heh he said prong!
What's up?!
Amen man! It was a golden age. When I tell some younger people (the ones who still like this music) some of the shows I saw back then, they get jealous. Like I did when my uncles would tell me about seeing Zep.
This song is not just the coolest.
This song is not just the best.
This song is JUSTIN CREDIBLE!
Just saw these guys in Chicago 2018 open up for Helmet. They're still high energy and real tight.
Just bought an 89 box Chevy that has been sitting for nearly a decade...a prong album was in the tape deck and it will stay there until I blow the speakers.
Love it Loud
Ahh... back when music was awesome
It seems like the best bands are always underrated
This is what good music sounds like before Peanut Allergies and fucking Gluten Diets. HAHAHAH
Bjørn yep
funny, although peanut allergies are actually a thing.
Hell yeah
Crazy what this world has become weak and un open minded snap there fingers snap there neck hahahahah
Bjørn You wanted know your ass from a hole in the ground. All i hear is clicking.
Prong has always kicked ass and always will.....
i used to work out to this song nothing like metal from back in the days
10 yr old me in the 90's + this downtuned guitar = mind blown.
Real heavy metal, scares kids now.
Hurts to many feelings.
Think of what a millennial mosh pit would be like.
Joshua Landry it would be like walking in jello.
fuck of im a kid and i love heavy metal itsin my familys bloodline so sit down be humble
Joshua Landry "millennial mosh-pit"?! Excuse me, but this seems to be a serious contradiction in terms. It's sort of like saying "dedicated public servant"; I'll quote Mark Twain on this: "Let's say you're an idiot. Then let's say that you're a member of Congress... but, I repeat myself!"
the kids of today. could not handle being in the pit of yesteryear.. we would have crushed them .!!!
Um excuse me, I'm moshing here! Omg I can hear it now! LOL
One of my all time favorites, can't go 2months without it Poppin in my head. Since it's release. Truly Amazing song.
Im am a old dude I love it!
52 here ...ya snap you`re neck
I remember once, while I was driving to work the DJ was giving the "concert updates" and he says: "We've got Hole opening up for Tool, Prong and Helmet on the 29th at the... Man, I laughed so hard I nearly ran my truck off the road! Those clowns on Fm 99 WNOR were always saying stuff that would get you fired these days. After the morning laugh he played this song, always a favorite of mine. 😂😂😂
I was at this original tour in maybe 93. Opened for White Zombie
Yes original Zombie was this same style.... Pure aggression....
No you weren't
I was at the former Starwood in Nashville, TN for that show. Sepultura didn't show. I earned a police escort out of that show for transporting the moshpit from the field to the front row. My best friend to this day, was responsible for my release. We were escorted out, on the way to the car he decided to help me over a chain link fence directly into the backstage. Having been the only one expelled and banned, he was able to reenter w/his stub. I wondered around backstage and ate some of the food they had laid out, until security noticed my "lack of" a backstage pass. I was again expelled. Back into general population this time...I think I broke a bone in my wrist that night. Fucking awesome show!!!!!
Saw Prong a few years back. It was a pleasure to see them clobber the daylights out of this one.
My girlfriend bought a cd and i was like whos that? She said " Its Prong.....and i was like whoa
She's a keeper bro!
Found the cassette for this LP in a box of old cassettes. Played the song over and over again.
8-00-19 Still FreeKing Awwsome
Yet another obscure, lost metal gem. We metalheads dig deep for the good shit you know.
This is timeless music! 2019! I would love to snap some necks! Lmao!
Thanos: Disintagrate people.
Prong: MAKE THEM SUFFER
@ 3:10 peewee herman screams for the band
Someone must've said Today's Secret Word.

....and if you think A.I. will help you?! I HAVE THAT MUTHAFUCKAS CARD!!!!!!!!
stereo on the Hi-Fi. Awesomw show in the 90's with Pantera and Sepultura.
went to that show in spokane wa..
My cousin hit the Dallas date up for that show, said Prong stole the show.
Memphis. Can i get a witness
In ten xs i saw em I wouldnt say anyody ever stole a show from Pantera. Granted, Prong was badass. But still.
I'm a little jealous. Would've loved to have attended that.
Lyrics kick ass, bass is even, vocals adept, one of the classic rock songs. These guys keep churning it out, and it sounds great.
THE ARTWORK IS FROM FIRE AND ICE AND PAINTED BY FRANK FRAZETTA (HOWEVER YOU SPELL HIS LAST NAME)
There's a cool tribute on here to frank frazetta. High on Fires songs of thunder is the soundtrack to it. It's amazing.

_Today, it's on my iPhone and in my BMW X5. I love my life and I love my music!_
Great song
need to play HELLYEAH
First time i heard it in a snowboard movie in 1995 since then i hear it very often.these were trully good times with just real badass songs like that.gives me creeps...
Beavis tried to snap his fingers and neck at the same time. .... it didn't work out well for him
BURIAL HILL MOUNTAIN MEN LMFAO😂😂😂
Goddamn....this song ROCKS, in any era!!
Suicidal Tendencies needs to cover it !
Thats an interesting take on it, that sounds dope
Hmmmm......Not a bad idea !!!
I was a junior in High school cranking this out of my 6x9 speakers, cruising my 1979 Ford pinto 4 speed. Damn those were the days!
They started the downtuned-stop and go riff pattern.
yes agreed but I'd say Helmet too, roughly around the same time.
Both are badass bands
Tune down was S.O.D... stop go, was Metallica, shortest straw. waaay b4 this ever came out.
prong predates S.O.D. by about a decade, shortest straw, i don't get the reference, shortest straw was standard tuning all the way and there wasn't much stop and go, harvester of sorrow had plenty of stop and go if you want to point out metallica. If you want to look to disprove this asinine statement Exodus would be a perfect reference. Half another references from that same era, and even they werent the first.
mod, my bad.. stop go, metallica ref on shortest straw intro.
Frazetta for the win! One of the greatest artists of all time!
Oldie but goodie !
One of the best rock songs ever!!!
"you want the good life!?!?"
Early 90s what a great time for music 😀 hard times to make a buck but damn we had prong helmet n the Seattle scene... It was the best of times and the worst of times lol
U want the good life u break your back.....
Very good song, its on my play list lol
Stephie M add me😉
Stephie M
i see the love united in a prong song that has survived the years =)
Matt Niciporek TRUTHS

This one just pumps me up so damn much I cant get enough.thanks prong
