  • nothing breeds more contempt for this world
    than memories now formed every moment
    a new seed is grown to no reason the

    i'm no jury really don't care how you feel the pleasant notion of miraculous change
    drifts into multiple jeers you want the good life
    you break your back you snap your fingers
    you snap your neck seconds drip thru my hands

    Prong (and Helmet too) paved the way for so many bands for years to come, shame they didn't get the widescale recognition (success) they deserved but they certainly have the respect from those of us who know.

    This band is the only reason I went to prom. This girl named Jamie came up to me while I had and still was drinking wild turkey, and asked me if I would go to prom. Well being drunk and partially def in one ear I thought she said prong haha and I was like "sure hell yeah I'll go with you" the next day she called me and told me she was so happy I said I would go to prom with her lol yeah ,true story. I did like I said go through with the prom date, but there was no prong

      Damn straight brother. I'm 40, I remember when music was still good. I feel sorry for todays youth that will never experience what it's like to have music like this tossed at them from every angle. I'll be a headbanger till I die.

      @gorgan1314 9 лет назад +3

      I dunno. In the late nineties it sure went for a tailspin. Music was just so damn good for so many decades it's hard to see what become of it. I cant believe the masses swallow what the industry shoves down their throat. I still have my cd's tho...and tapes ; )

    • @gorgan1314
      @gorgan1314 9 лет назад +2

      Not really I guess. What makes 2003 a specific drop off point? What I know for sure is that the industry is geared toward making a product that sounds good to the greatest amount of people. Talent and innovation take a back seat to profits. The people that gobble up the latest shit that the industry feeds them far out number those with discerning ears. Until people get fed up with rehashed hits made on a computer, most "music" will be trash.

      Kim Martin I've read the whole thread and still can't get your point. Bands from the 80's 90's and 2000's is a vague concept, since a lot ot them are still in activity. Do you mean that even those bands suck nowadays? Or you mean there is no good NEW band starting after 2003?
      Anyways, I like Prong today because it reminds me good times. But for Metal Music standards from their time, they really sucked. For instance, by 1994 (the year of Snap your fingers) we had Pantera, Fear Factory and Sepultura... the standards where veeeery high, and Prong sounded as just some commercial jiberjaber "industrial" metal.

      I was at the former Starwood in Nashville, TN for that show. Sepultura didn't show. I earned a police escort out of that show for transporting the moshpit from the field to the front row. My best friend to this day, was responsible for my release. We were escorted out, on the way to the car he decided to help me over a chain link fence directly into the backstage. Having been the only one expelled and banned, he was able to reenter w/his stub. I wondered around backstage and ate some of the food they had laid out, until security noticed my "lack of" a backstage pass. I was again expelled. Back into general population this time...I think I broke a bone in my wrist that night. Fucking awesome show!!!!!

    • @skytale35
      @skytale35 8 лет назад +2

      prong predates S.O.D. by about a decade, shortest straw, i don't get the reference, shortest straw was standard tuning all the way and there wasn't much stop and go, harvester of sorrow had plenty of stop and go if you want to point out metallica. If you want to look to disprove this asinine statement Exodus would be a perfect reference. Half another references from that same era, and even they werent the first.

    • @garyreagan6049
