She may be gone but will not never be forgotten. She lives on in the minds and hearts of all the ex riders like myself who who lived and breathed the place. We hold some of the best memories of our lives. We have all got old but those memories can never be erased.
Recently stayed at El Caballo in WA, the original resort. What a sad, sorry state it was in. Spiders and cobwebs, broken roofing, carpet stains and damp, dark corridors. Old, tired rooms. Hardly any guests with most of the resort closed off including the function rooms and reception area. A very scary place! Only a shadow of its former self.
I went to 2 raves there in 1997. One on I think it was the 12th Dec or the 13th - either way I celebrated my 18th birthday (the 13th) and 2 n a bit weeks later I spent NYE there. Best raves ever!
I went there about 20 years ago now when I was 8 - 10 years old and it seemed a little run down then. As my dad took me and all that was on that day was the train and we rode the go karts, as the horses had been cancelled for the day. It was a nice place back then but seemed run down, if my translation is correct El Caballo Blanco translates to "The White Horse" I don't know what it is about Spanish culture and architecture but I'm rather fond of it and will eventually get to Spain one day.
MarkehMe, A recent story in the paper confirmed that the El Caballo Blanco land has been rezoned for housing development. Hundreds of houses to be built on the land.
It's funny, I was just thinking about this place the other day, because my girlfriend speaks spanish. I suddenly remembered "El caballo blanco".... I went there when I was 6, but I was too young to know what the place was named after, now I know....."The white horse"...good memories from here.
i went here as a kid in the 1980's then in the late 1990's around 1998/99 i went to 2 rave parties here, One was called Vision Valley (could of been December 1998) and there may have been another party caled Utopia or something. The place looked derelict then and it was closed down but the main arena whcih still stunk like horses and horse shit was the dance floor.. i remember my best friend and I hiding in the carpark from her brother LOL
+Daniel Martinez a family bought it when this shut down for 200k, they are now offering him over 1.9 million for 1 acre!! (the whole lot is over 5 acres)
Hi Irene, I've heard a few different stories. 1999: The park stops functioning as a park but still remains open for weddings. 2000: The park is closed and Sharyn Spark moves onto the property to care for the horses. Shyryn will be releasing a book about the park. Some controversy surrounding its closure would be revealed in the book.
interesting! all i know is the story a guy told me today who came and gave us a quote for a roller door, i wanted a particular type and asked if he has any he could show me that had same type and he mentioned "the family who bought the land" have it, that we could look at. and that is when he told me this story. so not sure what the truth is. UNLESS...... the family that bought , bought in the area around the park?
Is the world's most hideous mansion still there? 3 stories and totally made out of brown bricks. Rendering wasn't a big thing back then. Even the interior was brick - brick, brick and more BRICK!

used to see this advertised on tv but never went there.
I went there in the early 80's when i was about 8 - the horse show is something i have never forgotten.
Used to come here every year as a kid, heartbroken to know it closed down.

Sad to see it like that. I used to go there as a kid.
I go to Sydney Horse Riding Centre, which is right next to that place!

So sad to see it...I've a really good memories about this place, it's the best thing I've seen as a child in Australia. :( (I'm from Italy)
Yes, next door to golf course.. on Camden Valley Way, heading towards Camden NSW
Such a pity. I suppose that Sydney's urban sprawl will inevitably catch up with the land in the near future and all will be forgotten

Is this place right next to a gold course not too far from Campbeltown?
what area is the pool located in? i went here in november 2012 it still looks identical, good condition, i think because its so far from the road
Do you know who owns the premises?? Im looking for a place to start a rescue centre
Amethyst Blaze The land has been rezoned for housing development.
