When Freddie said "I still love you", he was addressing Queen fans who weren't even born yet. Even though he wasn't going to live long enough to see the births of future Queen fans, he was letting us know ahead of time that he still loves us even if he was going to be dead for a long time once we were born.
It makes me sad that I never got to meet him. I was only a few years born to late. I feel like he says goodbye in this song. You can tell how sick he was in the video
a dear friend who passed away in her sleep the night before last, I dedicate this song to you. We in many ways were polar opposites, yet in many ways the same. We have been friends for 65 years, from the day we meet in 1st grade. Our lives took us in many directions and we did not see each other or talk for long periods of time, but our friendship never waivered. This song reminds of being little girls playing together at her parents farm, knowing you didn't come in on her mom's wet kitchen floor, to sharing secrets and dancing at high school dances. The day I couldn't be at her wedding because I had to work, but managed to see her for a quick 5 minutes as she was dressing for her wedding. To being able to reconnect through facebook even though we lived hours apart. Isn't it funny how people find each other again after so many years and find you do still have a bond that cannot be broken.
My husband just died of cancer a couple of months ago..... I ran across this song and the memories from our youth come flooding back to me. Freddy's songs can still touch and capture hearts after all these years. RIP.
This was his goodbye song😭😭💔🤧in the video he looks so sick it breaks my heart💔💔 why do the good people have too die??🤧🤧😭😭💔🙏🏼 RIP Freddie Mercury, you were just too good for this world☁️☁️ your a legend the world won’t soon forget 👑 ☁️💔🙏🏼😭🤧
Isabel Cabrales It breaks my heart when I watch the original video to this song. Freddie Mercury was and still is Talented even though he isn’t here anymore. ❤️❤️😍😍
This song I've always felt was Freddy's way of saying goodbye to his fans and admirers. Recently this song has taken on new meaning. 7 weeks ago I lost my Dad to terminal cancer. For most of my life till I was 28 I resented him. Something dramatically changed when I was 28. I'm now 58 and I can proudly say "Dad you were and always will be my Hero". Freddy thank you so much for this song that has taught me what's important to remember in life. Daddy i miss you terribly and I love you with all my heart.
I'm only 14 but i grew up listening to his music.Freddie was truly a great man indeed. What we can't forget is when he was here he brought so much joy for everyone. Freddie mercury was truly a Legend
Lost my Dad recently, he loved music. I was with him when the news broke that Freddie had died. I was a young teenager and remembered my Dad saying all the good ones are taken to soon. My Das was taken to soon.
He looked so weak. I cry throughout the video and song, as I miss Freddie so much. 28 years ago this November since Freddie sadly passed away. Freddie was such a kind and gentle, loving, adoring, cheeky, gorgeous, and a very courageous man... He knew he was dying of AIDS, and he still went and recorded this song... That takes some courage.
I do not think this song is sad, although I reconnected with a lost love. The amazing part was after so much time apart, the love we had for each other was still there. I want to believe there is still hope for a world where we can all find serenity, love and understanding in our lives. It took me almost a life time and my journey is far from over. I try to find positives instead of the negative in my travels.
As a kid/young person I just thought it was a nice little song. As I get older I find that I can relate more and more to the lyrics. One of Queens most profound and greatest songs imo.
He was nearing the end of his life, but still mustered to sing this song which was very poignant at the time, as people knew he was dying. It resonates with me as I had not long since lost my dad to asbestosis, my sister and brother passed away and I was soon in a cruel divorce which made me ill. RIP
❤😢 nostalgic One of his best songs It’s like he was reminiscing about the past, present and future knowing he was on borrow time. Saying his last goodbye and his love to his fans ❤ 2024
I had discovered this song a day or so ago and after listening to the first few lyrics, my eyes had begun bawling. It is such a beautiful, heart touching, and sad song.
It's a very heart touching song. My nan always said she wanted this played at her funeral, she loved and adored queen. Well it was her funeral 2 weeks ago and we played it as the exit song :( x
Played at My Fathers funeral not a dry eye , what a tribute , Mom Mother’s of the 60s on always watched Days Of Our Lives soap , hAd just released 91 Freddie’s last Greatest songs GOD Bless Amen!.
This has always been one of my favourites of Freddie/Queen. It is one of those songs & lyrics that out of the blue i feel the need to play. It takes me back in time to so many times, events, in my life, with a deep sorrow for todays upheaval that we are all forced to exist in. I say exist, as i am sure that so many like myself were lucky enough to actually grow up through the best times when things were simple, but very special. Bless you Freddie, for this song!
I'm 33, my introduction to Queen was when Freddie Mercury died in 1991 and they re-released Bohemian Rhapsody. Much like young people now are introduced to Queen through the MOVIE Bohemian Rhapsody. This song was written by the drummer Roger Taylor and reminds me of my childhood. I remember as a small kid crying about Freddie Mercury's death. Another song that is really heart wrenching is 'In my defence' on the solo album he did, it was written by Dave Clark but it seems so appropriate to be sung by Freddie Mercury.
It makes you want to go back in time. But yesterday doesnt exist anymore and you will end up being confused. This song makes me sad i cant go back but happy i had good times and who says more funs not in our future.
My best friends mom just passed away this week. I went to her viewing today and am going to her funeral tomorrow. I knew her 22 years. She was a wonderful person
Played for Dads funeral viewing July 1992 no one heard song before really went over Great touched hearts everyone wanted a copy exspecially Mom she Loved daytime soap opera These are the Days of our Lives later that year it made radio play Perfect Thanks Freddie we still Love ❤️ You Amen 🙏!.
Oh god i love this man. As a 14 year Old Girl I wasnt born when he was Alive, but i can still say that We will never find someone like him, he was a true legend. The Music today is nothing like Queen (or other 70s and 80s Music) I just wish more people knew How wonderfull Freddie is and How deep his Music goes

This song is so sad. I can really relate to it, and it is to touching. Anyone who has disliked this has either got amazingly bad taste in music and deserves a life bad from the world, or they are blind. And to everyone who has liked it, well done. You've done a good thing today. ♡.♡ ^_~
I see this video when i was a kid and i cried. He looks weak and sick and despite that, record this video to his fans, to say "hey i have not forgotten you, i love you"
Brian's solo and guitar work in this track to me sound like he is channeling his love and hurt crying for Freddie knowing he is going but not wanting him to leave haunting and beautiful in equal measure.
Freddie is easily one of the best vocalists of all time
He IS the best!

The last Freddie's song ever recorded was 'Mother Love'. At the time Freddie was yet so weak that Brian had to sing the last part of that song instead
