Despite their incredible value and singing Italy (and other similar ignorant and low value countries) allows their caging, used for calling and shooting. A great desperation. I have been heard and saw it for years. The only way is spend a life time destroying all those cages you see hanging in woods. Please do if you came across such a hell. Birds are martyrs. They are singing for us and human beings abuse them. The quintessence that describes our intelligence

The blackbird is so underrated by so many people and many will hear its song and think it is a more rare and beautiful looking bird. But there are few to rival their range and tones of song. A nice steady capture, thank you for sharing. )
That's a great bit of footage showing the content male Blackbird singing happily. They are so underrated and taken for granted. Much like the Songthrush, which is not seen as often these days.

Most bird species like to sing in the morning at or shortly after first light. It's a cacophonous symphony which I think everyone should experience once in their life. Bird watchers refer to this event as the dawn chorus. The video you shared with us above seems to be later in the morning, but that's to be expected with common blackbirds. They probably would like to sing all day if it weren't for the need to find food and water and the other things a blackbird needs to do during the day.

I've heard blackbirds singing outside of my bedroom window for years and in a few other locations but I never knew the bird it came from until now.
Somewhat unrelated, but I always thought the wood pigeons calling from the same trees were owls.
