I FORGOT TO MENTION: I do prefer the Paris corner version over the original guidance and not just because of the price 🤣🤣 I feel like the original is a bit too strong for me, but the Paris corner version is lighter and I really love that fresh sweet pear that comes through. 🤓🤓🤓
Yay!!! I did order this and I am so excited to get my nose on it!! I have not smelled Guidance by Amouge ever but I'm excited to smell it ol❤
Alright Jamie, an update...I got my Bayn in!! First impression: Guidance is soooper oily on my skin compared to the OG Guidance. Bayn smelled smoky (that's weird) to my nose on first try. Guidance is deeper so for sure so you nailed this review and comparison. Although my nose is not that well trained but I'm picking up that they are starting to smell almost 1:1 now on me (oh I'm testing as I type), 1:1 in smell but I'm certain not so in performance cos almost 15 mins in and I still have more oily shine from Guidance😮. I have to agree with you 💯 percent, that Bayn is lighter. I was just telling Ker-leen , it couldn't possible perform like Guidance cos that one is a beast! 😅. That said, I love the lightness of this and enjoying testing it so far! I just wanted to update you❤

@@AlejandraRodriguez-kg5vz I love Paris corners version better just because it’s lighter and I get more of that fresh pear. I don’t personally smell anything smoky in that perfume but everybody’s skin chemistry is different🤓🤓🤓

I want Bayn Al Asrar for the bottle alone!! 😂😂 It sounds like Bayn Al Asrar is more inspired by Guidance as opposed to a dupe. Still sounds like a good fragrance!!

FYI I blind bought Guidance on Fragrancenet for less than $200 and am SO happy with it. I get compliments 9/10 times I wear it in public. I’ve been thinking about checking out this dupe but worry it won’t be as complex or blended as well
Oh my gosh, that’s an amazing price for that perfume 😵 well if you love the original guidance and you can get it for such a good price I would probably just stick with that 🤔 but if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative you could maybe get just a tester of the Paris corner version and see what you think🤷🏻♀️Or I also heard that DUA has a nice dupe of guidance as well, although I have not smelt that one myself. 🤓🤓🤓🤓

The bottle is beautiful and the scent lasted a long time on my tester strips. The dry-down really pretty. It’s so different than anything in my collection. ❤
Yes, I know exactly what you mean! It’s a really pretty perfume, but I’m still trying to figure out what I think of it because it is so interesting and very different than the perfumes I’m used to spelling🤓🤓🤓the way they have this fresh pear mixed with this deep heavy roasted hazelnut confuses my nose a little. But that doesn’t mean I dislike it. Im just trying to figure it out 🤣🤓😋
I always want to be the younger, cheaper, lighter, fresher sister! Guidance didn’t work for me, but love the presentation of this Paris Corner fragrance so much- the box, the story, the beautiful bottle…almost makes me not care what the juice inside smells like. Thanks for sharing.

I have this on the way. I haven’t smelled the original, though. I have only smelled two Amouge ever and so far haven’t cared for them. I like the idea that this is lighter and fresher, especially for spring and summer. I’m excited to smell it!
The original is nice, but it’s a bit heavy for my taste. But the Paris corner version is so much lighter and has a freshness to it that I really enjoy.🤓🤓🤓
Like you said sisters not twins. I like both but Paris Corner is definitely less deep and less complicated, not a bad thing for warmer temps. I dont wear Guidance in the warm weather.... Those deeper notes might come out with maceration. For now its a lovely, interesting pear scent I can wear now....
Yes, exactly. I’m not sure after it macerates for a couple months if it will get deeper or not but for right now it’s much lighter and fresher and I feel like it could be worn during summertime. Although I have not tested that theory out yet. 🤓🤓🤓🤓

Also, my hubby is from Puerto Rico and when I asked him to smell this perfume on me, he said it smells like Puerto Rico 🇵🇷💁♀️. I guess this perfume smells like a beautiful turquoise water beach 🏝️ resort vibes.

So I own Guidance and I'm just rubbing my palms together, waiting to get Bayn Al Asrar so I can compare them! Thanks for the video, Jamie. I didn't get the hype on Guidance on initial try at the store, but fell in love on second try from a sample I bought. I finally caved in and bought a full bottle. I do enjoy Guidance but find I'm not really reaching for it like I'd love to because I find it a wee bit strong (which I'm also happy about, I know that sounds weird 😂) . So for sure I cannot wait to try Bayn since you describe it's a lighter sister. Hopeful!💃🏽

Thank you for this review!! I can now make up my mind about buying Guidance. I got a sample, and then a 5 ml Spray, of Guidance and found that I absolutely LOOOOOVE it! I have been holding off on buying it, because of the price. 😬 I was really hoping this Paris Corner scent would be on point enough for me to save the money. But…I’m going to just spring for the 50 ml size of Guidance. I love it so much that I don’t want something that’s *almost* like it. Maybe I’ll end up getting the Paris Corner version later. The fresh pear being more dominant could be really nice.😊👍

Funny enough, I just bought a Guidance dupe but it's not this one! It's the one from DUA called The Guide! It hasn't been delivered yet but I'm very excited to compare it to my sample of Guidance. ❤❤
Edited to add: all I really want to know is: does the dupe have the same intoxicating scent trail as Guidance?! Cause that's what really matters to me. That scent trail is 😍😍
It sounds like Bayn Al Asrar is inspired by Guidance as opposed to a clone or a dupe of Guidance. ✌️🥰
The best Hazelnut fragrance on the market is still Zadig and Voltaire This is Her, hands down IMO. Have you tried that one?! It's hard not to like that fragrance. 😂❤
🤣🤣🤣I never watched the circle before but I did just get done watching baby reindeer🤓🤓🤓 no, I have never smelt any of the Zadig & voltaire perfumes before🤔 with this new one from Paris corner, it definitely is a lighter version so it’s not gonna leave a huge scent trail and stay on your skin forever like I feel the original guidance does. However, it does have a pretty decent little scent bubble. My oldest daughter came to visit and one of the first things she said was wow what is that perfume you’re wearing. So it definitely makes a statement. 🤓🤓🤓 I am curious to know how similar the DUA version of guidance is and what the performance is like.🤔

Congrats! This video is the first review I've seen for Bayn Al Asrar! I am curious about the Paris Corner version because I just could not get on board the Guidance bandwagon. It was SO strong, it gave me a headache. But....there were certain aspects that I liked about it. Does Bayn al Asrar have any spice at all in it? Because i do like the spice and vanilla and hazelnut notes in the OG. (p.s. that was for sure a boob 🙃)
Well, I’m sure I’m not the first person to review this perfume🤓but I’m glad you enjoyed this video🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 if you thought the original guidance was too strong then you might really enjoy this Paris corner dupe because it’s a much lighter fresher version. I will say it does have a little bit of that spice and the hazelnut and the vanilla. But it’s not as woody in my opinion. But just keep in mind that this perfume still is brand new so after it macerates for about a month, it may become stronger or maybe it will stay the same. I’m not really sure yet. I’m glad to see I wasn’t the only one that saw a boob🙈🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The best dupe I’ve find (really the only close one) is the Dua dupe “the guide”. It’s like 85% and lasts forever 😅❤

I got a sample of guidance and I have duas the guide , they smell identical to my nose ...that said I'm not sure I care for the scent , the jury is still out🤔

Honestly, I mainly picked it up because of the bottle and the packaging 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love collecting Middle Eastern perfumes🤓🤓🤓🤓 I do really enjoy that fresh sweet pear. I’m still not quite sure how I feel about the note of hazelnut in general but it’s growing on me😋😋😋

Your room is going to smell like Guidance for a week. 😂 That is the strongest perfume I've ever tried! I don't get any hazelnut or fruit, I just get a nuclear pickle wood note. My husband thinks it smells like Tulum, it definitely has a sandalwoody, hipster/hippy vibe going on for me.

The dupe is a much softer version and more fresh. It’s not nearly as woody as the original in my opinion.🤓😋

I think I'll actually like the lighter quality, i haven't smelled the OG,but I have enough 'deep' scents for now I'm trying to get more versatile fragrances.

I still need to test it out in hotter weather. But I feel like because it is lighter and has a little bit more freshness because of that pear and less spiciness I think it would be OK but I’m not positive yet 🤓🤓🤓
I have both and honestly don't get the hype. I have a decant of guidance and probably will not get a full bottle until it goes on a discount shop.
The original guidance is a bit too woody and strong for me personally. But I like the dupe. It’s definitely nothing to go crazy over in my opinion but it is nice. I’m not sure how I feel about the note of hazelnut yet.🤔 it’s growing on me🤓 I mainly really love the fresh sweet pear opening and the dry down with the vanilla the best. 🤓

I prefer stronger perfumes. Im in my 40s so i was around in the 90s when everything was in its original beastmode formulation and even drug store perfumes were beasts. After 2001 everything was reformulated, ingredients were banned and the birth of watered down garbage came to be. Also edt were not a thing. Who even heard of them. Now the market is flooded with them. And they are still expensive with no performance at all!!!Thats my opinion. I wish companies went back to just giving us a good performing edp from rhe start like years ago instead of all these different versions that still dont perdorm. They can make body spray versions for people that want a lighter version or for younger girls. I just remember what existed and i get pissy. Anyway. I'll stick with Guidance and ill try this maybe if i find it cheap. 👍 thanks
Yes, I completely agree🤓 90% of the time I want my fragrance to be beast mode. A lot of fragrances nowadays you have to overspray a lot to get that beast mode effect. we’re paying more for less quality it seems.

They definitely smell extremely similar, but the original is much more strong and spicy. The Bayn Al Asrar is a much lighter version, and the pear is more prominent, giving it a nice freshness. So the original definitely last longer and projects further but it’s because it’s much denser and heavier🤓
How does Janoon Rose compare? Which is the better dupe?
Hmmm I’m not sure what you mean🤔 Junoon rose is a totally different scent than the Bayn Al Asrar 🤔 I love both of them and I’m wearing them both regularly however, if I had to choose between one or the other, I would have to go with Junoon rose. It’s one of my very, very very favorites.🤓🤓🤓

But to me they aren’t necessarily twins. The Paris corner version just seems much lighter and fresher to my nose🤓🤓 I definitely don’t think anyone would notice a difference if you were wearing the cheaper version out in public.

I can’t tell if the A is meant to have an uppercase or a lowercase sound 🤔

When I first smelt leather in a perfume, I didn’t know how I felt but now I really enjoy it So I’m gonna give it some with hazelnut and see 🤷🏻♀️🤓😋 I will definitely say that if there’s somebody out there that loves the scent profile of guidance that I would imagine they would love this Paris corner version🤓😋
