    That was such an interesting run. The artstyle is cool, the change of settings is wild and the boss designs were so interesting and diverse.

    Epic run and congratulations! It's interesting how things start off with a certain theme and then it branches into outer space and sci-fi stuff. I was actually just thinking about Tiny Barbarian DX this morning too! It does a similar thing where you start the game and think it's a barbarian/cave-man setting and era but as you progress, you end up seeing more modern machines and I'm pretty sure you go into outer space as well but the details are hazy since I haven't played it since 2019.
    There are some awesome enemy and boss designs in this game, though. I also got a kick out of the second loop stage 1 right before the boss where the forest scenery is already scrolling at top speed even though the wall before the forest is more or less remaining on screen. All in all, a fantastic run and super engaging commentary as always!

      Thank you! Yeah I really like some of the things this game does in terms of designs and visuals. The gameplay is a bit too standard for me but it was worth playing through.

    Thanks for the commentary! I just listened to it after getting my own 1CC on Mahou Daisakusen (with Chitta & Homing) and agree with a lot of your observations.
    For me, the main draw of the game is that it is a cool audiovisual journey. The punishing deaths combined with the boss rush at the end just take away from the fun instead of being an interesting challenge. I really had Gradius syndrome with this one, where the most viable way to clear seemed to be no-missing until the damn ninja boss (and that's exactly what happened). I still enjoyed the game, but the M2 ShotTriggers port may have lured me away from what would probably been the more fun version to play, namely Sorcer Striker.
    Also, I didn't realize that coins increase rank and was collecting as many as I could for score 😅

      Thanks for your comment! Yeah, I agree on everything. It's a bit of a shame because the game is creative and looks so cool, but it's just a tad bit too strict for me. Sorcer Striker is more lenient (probably too much for experienced players tbh) and it's good to play games like these once in a while. Congrats on beating Mahou btw, it is no joke. You have a lot of impressive clears under your belt already!

      @@letsblocking Thanks! It kinda happened by accident that I got into shmups through the more challenging ones (like DDP) and they've been my main games for the past year and a half or so. Not that all games need to be difficult or that difficulty is always a good thing... See the case of Mahou vs Sorcer Striker :)

      @@VinuShmup Je suis surtout sur SF6 en fait 😄 Ça fait longtemps que j'ai pas touché à DDP, celui qui me fait de l'œil c'est Ketsui mais il est pas fastoche...

      ​@@letsblocking SF6 m'attirait bien perso, surtout Kimberley qui a l'air super sympa à jouer mais j'ai pas sauté le pas car j'ai peur de rester bloquer dans la boucles street pendant des mois voir plus après haha.
      Arcade pour Ketsui? Le mode Deathtiny est pas mal comme entre 2 la prochaine fois que je relance le jeu je me fixerai ça comme objectif de 1CC pour commencer ^^.

      Oui mode Arcade pour Ketsui, j'ai joué un peu au mode Deathtiny qui est très fun et facile sauf si on score comme un malade.

    GG and super fun to watch run! I’ve only seen this game mentioned by other shmuppers or as part of bulk-game reviews so seeing a commentated run pop up got me hype.

      Thank you! There's not much content about this game but it is pretty interesting. I probably wouldn't want to grind it though, a bit too old-school for my tastes.

    Weird, I was just thinking about purchasing this from the Japan psn store. I didn’t know there was an NA/EU version.
    Edit: Looks like it’s 4,070 yen ($28)

      The original arcade game had two versions (Mahou Daisakusen and Sorcer Striker) but the PS4 port that is available digitally on the JP PSN store only includes the Japanese version which is the more difficult one. It's still a good game but much more challenging than what you can see on this video. There is no recent port of the US version.

      In the PS4 version you can alter the difficulty to your liking, the menus are in Japanese but on the shmups forum they have translated them. Things like smaller hit box, slower bullets, lower rank and easy mode options. These options make the game very accessible for all.
      The games music is some of the best I've heard, the new orchestral arrangements are stunning. I highly recommend you pick this game up.
