@@Jims-Garage We use both Jitsi and MiroTalk SFU. While Jitsi has proven to be reliable, its setup process is often complicated. On the other hand, MiroTalk SFU (not the P2P you're referring in this video). stands out with its streamlined, efficient solution, offering impressive performance, an easy setup, and a range of innovative features making it a highly promising alternative! We love it!
No, it doesn't require video but it's not the best alternative for Discord as there's no history or permanant channels. Check out Riot or Matrix for something more similar.
I am confused: all of a sudden 0:59 I have to install it. Where does it come from? I understand that I can use via the browser and that's it. What do I have to install? and why?
@@enricocialdini6194 it's installed with Docker on your own hardware. This is why it's private and free (if those are new terms to you I have videos on Docker etc).
Thanks for the demo and info. Another great fantastic video Jim. Have a wonderful day
the consistency uploads and quality content from this channel 🔥
Thanks, I keep trying :)
This is really brilliant. Thanks from Florida.
Glad it was helpful!
Everything seems so simple when Jim's explaining it.
Thanks, let me know how you get on with it.
I love it! Would you also be able to review MiroTalk SFU?
@@githubissue-of7rb I'll consider it, thanks.
How does it compare to jitsi? I always found jitsi complicated to deploy, so really looking forward to trying this one
@@enissay9950 this is so much easier to deploy.
Please make a video on how to set up Microsoft Studio Visual Code. I've always found it to be a daunting task. Also, how to integrate with Ansible.
@@Renull55 I've already covered both of those, check them out
Are there some bandwidth requirements to consider?
@@thorstensievert4369 always, but it's fairly light for voice only. A few low quality video streams also won't be too taxing.
Hey Jim, did you had chance to try other solutions like Jitsi by any chance? Any opinions which you like better?
Used Jitsi for years and I have a video on it, it's a great tool.

Does it require video? Like if we wanted to use it to replace discord?

Do you have a guide for a free open source PBX?
What's a PBX?
@@Jims-Garage Private Branch Exchange like those network phones in offices
@@pr0jectSkyneT ahh, I see. I will look into it but I have no prior experience.
@Jims-Garage appreciate it. I think there are some free open source options now, but I'm not too certain.

Turn / Coturn?
I mentioned it but didn't deploy it. It's quite simple to do but requires a VPS.

An alternative to Jitsi?!?!
Absolutely, and it's much easier to setup (not saying better though, both are great!).
