The anatomical correlations mentioned, like the hypoglossal canal, are interesting. Doesn't sapiens also have a unique expanded oral and pharyngeal cavity that allows allows increased variation in overtones that allow us to produce a wider variety of mouth sounds than other humans/hominins?
