Many years ago, I was on expedition to Australia (Operation Raleigh now known as Raleigh International). We spent some time in a new park area, the Kathryn Park. Amongst the rangers there was a known local Emu, Blue. He was known for having a liking of the colour and was very much a character when you met him...he either loved or hated you! One morning down at the rangers hut we met up with the ranger before moving on to some work he needed us to do that day and Blue happened to be at the station. At the same time was a small group of tourists, Japanese by the looks and they were obviously interested in seeing an Emu up close. The ranger suggested we take a moment and watch what happened. Now, bear in mind that there were signs everywhere advising against interacting with the wildlife, feeding them etc as they were known as "unpredictable" (which in Australian ranger language at the time meant "Good for a laugh!"). The only comment he made was: "Blue likes blue"...the gent of the tourist group just happened to be dressed in a rather lovely blue suite as he turned away from Blue to sort out his camera for shots of him. It took Blue less than a second or so to run up and "mount" the rather unfortunate gentleman and express his "passion" for objects coloured blue. Now I'd like to say way instantly ran to his defence...or at least distracted Blue from his laser focussed point of attention and excitement...but I can't. We spent at least 20 seconds laughing our arses off, trying to get our hilarity under control before we could even manage to assist the poor chap being passionately assaulted by the bird. To this day I'm not sure if we should have intervened earlier ...or enjoyed the spectacle for longer.

@Mike Sixx Call me what you want! I'm thick skinned, Also, I think you're mistaking me as being something I'm not. I am white, but unlike you I don't get butt hurt! The only thing that offends me is stupidity!
@Mike Sixx Karen can be used with any race. It’s mainly shown as white because they’re the most populous in the countries that label them as “Karen.”
@Mike Sixx Although, you did get butt hurt over the word Karren! As I said earlier, I'm white! Unlike you and your bum chum, I don't see racism around every corner, or in every comment.
@ᚪᚢᛏᚢᛗ ᚱᚪᛇᛝᚹᚪᛏᛠᚱ Shut up Karen
I LOVE seeing these precious Karen and Amanda moments. I’m very emotionally invested in this entire farm
I'm a grown ass man and you'd still see me run like a little 6 year old girl while screaming if that huge raptor lookin hissing bird chased me 😆 🤣 that young lady has nerves of steel to get in there up to their faces but it's cool to see how much she loves them and vice versa. Ugh..that hiss though 😄 I didn't know they did that 😳
Love your comment. Had a good laugh.
@@janettucker3196 glad to give you a chuckle 😄 it would crack anyone up i imagine because I'm 35, 6 ft and about 230 lbs with tattoos and a beard but I've ran away from a giant rooster at my parents farm before when it chased me and a mean swan one time at the park in front of a family having a picnic while the little kids laughed 😆 🤣 it's just something about aggressive birds that hiss..even though I could stomp them to death (but never would) I find them terrifying 😆
@@accuser_of_the_brethren7816 it sounds like you have a good heart & soul to me towards animal’s. Your a giant in my eyes! 😊
@@teaglelover thanks so much, that's very kind of you to say. My father was an old fashioned woodsman from Kentucky and instilled in me the power, appreciation and respect that comes with nature and we're all really just guests of hers while we're here. Love your profile pic, take care 🙂
@Stephanie Maria 😆 and that's completely understandable, little red devil-copters 😄 I'll be honest, ladybugs are creepy but I would probably strip down to my underoos in a grocery store or even roll a car im driving if one of those cicada things lands in my lap 😱 it's totally the sound that does it for me "CHK-CHK-CHK-CHK" 😆 I hope I can toughen up one day in case I ever have kids bec then I'll have to be the one to protecc 😊 next time I see a 🐞 I'll make sure to tell them to leave you be 😊 thanks for sharing 😁😎
Animals are completely healing for us humans! We need them and they need us. The connections we can create with them and the love we can bring into their lives and vice versa....they have their own personalities their own likes and/or dislikes, so unique and cool to watch the love you have for each animal! its so special the relationships you grow with each one of those babies of yours.
"don't call the manager please" 😂😂
She's such a beauty! If only I were there I would give her all the cuddles ❤️ Thanks for uploading this video and making my day The Dodo ❤️
I love this lady and her farm. I'm so glad you all highlighted her.
I'm very happy for Karen the hissing Emu. Stanley the friendly Emu helped her learn how to trust humans again & her transformation from a pissed off hissing Emu to a cuddle buddy Emu, really a beautiful transformation.
Her & Stanley's adopted human mom is absolutely brave & very well patient when it comes to working with these magnificent giant bird's.
That's wonderful, this woman has a patient and kind soul to help this animal come out of its shell and learn to love.
You got on Dodo!
You and your animals are so awesome. Such an inspiration. Kisses to Karen and Stanley... and you!
I love how the lady is already implying that she is a human Karen.

Aww, it was so sweet when Karen warmed up and snuggled you! 😀
Thank You for taking your time with Karen. You are a wonderful person.
I love when they close their eyes and cuddle! Such expressions
Wow - your unwavering patience, love and compassion for your awesome animals is amazing. Amanda you’re a blessing - thank you for all you do!
I absolutely love Karen and Stanley! I love how Amanda shows their personalities so well...and makes them come to life even more.
This should be a kids book! I love this story. It made me cry. This woman is my hero
I watch useless farm on TikTok, and I am genuinely shocked to see Karen showing her love for anything other than the taste of cold blooded murder on her beak 😂😂
What a difference you made in Karens quality of life. Wow! Inspiring!
Amanda, this was a video that gave me endless smiles! They are lucky to have you and I know you feel lucky to have them 🥰
Amanda us a unique, wonderful, amazing person. She's one the people I strive to be more like. If everybody followed her example, the world would be a far better place.
People who watch the Urban Rescue Ranch are here wondering is she actually Kevin's wife Karen
