For those uncertain of what the last scene is, it's a column of hearses being escorted down what is known as the Highway of Heroes, which is a stretch of highway which connects the Airforce base in Trenton Ontario, where the planes coming back from overseas with the bodies of Canadian soldiers land, to Toronto where the military coroner's office is. When a motorcade comes by it is almost always the case that people line up on the overpasses and salute the fallen heroes as they ride past. There is also a famous song about it with the same name if you're interested.
