- Video 3 finds us continuing the Overland Route through the Owyhee Canyonlands in Oregon state. We ford the river twice and explored the ruins of an old homestead. The Hattie Harrell Ranch was a work cattle ranch that was sold back to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) back in 1927 in preparation for the Owyhee Reservoir.

Your watching Primal Outdoors - Camping, Overlanding and Van Life. I am living the van life in my Ford E350 4x4 Van traveling around the remote public land system in Oregon.
"Were her thoughts filled with relief or sadness with leaving a place that I am sure still holds a part of her soul." Jason, your words are as beautiful as your photography.
❤
Truly a beautifully crafted episode Jason. This was a pleasure to watch.
Well said 👍🏻
Next level drone footage on this one. Love your content.
My grandparents lost a place in North Dakota during the depression/dustbowl in the 1930's. I also look at these abandoned places with similar thoughts: Christmases, birthdays celebrated, babies born and other stories untold.
The music really makes your videos, Jason. Thank you for all of your work.
Hello, las historias de unos, a veces, son las leyendas de otros, saludos desdePuenteareas, buenos días.
Wonderful storytelling and video as well Jason. I really enjoyed this episode.
amazing drone work there
Beautiful place. Thanks for sharing your adventure
So good. Thank you Jason. Great story to share.
Best camping/Overland channel out there 💯
I am enchanted by the story about Hattie and her boys. Thank you for sharing!🙏♥️
Beautiful site, excellent video footage. Thanks for sharing, so long.
Incredible that somebody carved out a living in such a remote, desolate area. That materials were hauled in seems unbelievable.
Absolutely beautiful videography, music, and narration. Loved the drone footage and the history. Thank you for sharing the adventure and history.
So awesome, I would love to check that out sometime
Great video! Often would love to hear old stories which are lost in time!!!! Thanks, Jason
Wow. Great story dude thanks. Imagine that woman raising a family there in the 20s. I'm humbled. Greg. Calgary
Looks like a very cool old ranch. Thank you for show us and give the back story on it.
Best overland channel on RUclips. Thanks bro. 👍
Hey there Jason once again thank you very much for bringing us along this is a beautiful video I will stop anything to watch them as you make them, I went ahead and use my imagination as I was watching the video and I enjoyed very much thank very much, be safe.👍👍🙋♂️🙋♂️
I love the history of the early settlers in Eastern Oregon. The Coyote Works channel also shares your appreciation of historical homesteads. The end of the video about the ranch, with the videography and narration was excellent; even had my wife come and watch that part. It's a wonder how much harder their lives were then compared to what we think is hard now, helps to give us perspective.
Wow Jason... what a great episode. Your drone footage, music, narration and story telling are spot on. Your final narration of the life of Haiti and sons was awe inspiring. I too had my wife come watch that portion and we both mentioned how cool a tribute it was to those hard working folks. Keep up the great content, as we always look forward to new vids.
That was most enjoyable content you created,,thank you for that...
Beautiful ode to a hard working, industrious family far from civilization...Great country.
Deep, meaningful words and some crafty dronework! Will certainly be watching this more than once 😉😁
Wow!!! That old farm sted... such history. Just so incredible. Some day, I would love to walk there!!!! Thank you sooo much for the video, it is amazing!!! Oh, next time you find yourself at Walmart, look for the battery powered fuel pump, stick. I use fuel jugs to fill my skid steer. That pump is awesome!!!!! I HIGHLY recommend one. (Saves one's back from lifting heavy fuel cans!!) Thanks again Jason. Fantastic video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This video touched my heart...your storytelling was on point and I thank you for sharing your findings of this ranch.
Hauntingly, beautiful scenes that leaves an imprint on the heart just from the scenes you included to the facts and speculation you shared.
Bravo 👏🏽👏🏾👏🏻
Looks very relaxing bro. 👍
Beautiful video. I love the old homesteads. BTW, I had an aunt named Hattie and it was pronounced "Hat-ty".
One of your best videos Jason. Beautiful!
That was some great drone footage. Impressed with your flying through the trees then under hour awning. Great story also.
Never give up! Well done!
It can sometimes make me sad as I stumble across places like this and ponder. This was someone's hopes and dreams that they poured their blood, sweat, and tears into! Did they succeed or fail? Was this a stepping stone to a better place or the bitter end? Thanks for sharing the back story. Great video!
Nice to travel with good friends
Man !....
Your narration made me teleport back in their time.
To be honest, it made me a bit emotional too.
Good work Sir .
Next is Donalds fuel trip 👌
Another outstanding video. Your commentary and beautiful videography at the end choked me up.
Well done, Brian! History deserves such appreciation...👍😎🇨🇦
Always enjoy watching you videos keep them coming.
Wow! Thanks, Jason, for a fascinating episode.
Your video capture, editing, and sound design are superb.
This was a rare glimpse into the lives of those who came before us.
Happy Trails
That drone footage was awesome! Nice work Jason! 👍
Awesome video. Thank you.

Just awesome! Drone ninja! So well done! Videos just keep getting better. Enjoyed it. Thank you!
Love your channel. I found you when I came across your dog Daisy videos, when she sadly went missing 😔
I finally made a tribute video for my dog today, which I had to put to rest earlier this year.
Keep up the good work 👍
Love all of your videos. You are very good with the drone which adds that something extra that other similar channels can't quite capture. Keep those cameras rollin'.
Awesome storyline Jason. The drone footage!!
I am throroghly enjoying this series. Hopefully someday soon I too can check it out. Regards from Ody Slim
Great piece of history Jason. We will never truly know why they chose that place for their home. We can only imagine.
Excellect work on this one, Jason! Cheers!
Thank you Jason always a pleasure brother.
Drone was badass !!!
Well done
It will be interesting to see just which road Donald took to get fuel. I know all those roads and know the issues they can present. It was good to see he made it in the end though. Fun trip! Thanks for sharing! George.
Haha...yep, that was one of my craziest days of driving ever. Plus, in the interest of reconnaissance, I actually took one way out to the gas station, and a different way back down to the canyon. The whole thing was so many hours, so many miles, and such a headache, that I just wanted the drive to be over and didn't have it in me to film as much of it as I now wish I had, heh. But I'll tell that story in my next episode. 🙂
@@softroadingthewest I can only imagine. Looking forward to it...!
Great video, scenery and stories. Some day I hope to see at least a small part of that country. Another "Donald" from Eugene......
That drone footage is pretty bad ass.
good drone flying and story telling
Jason, very good video, one of your best.
Hi, I really appreciate your beautiful video work and your narrative about the people who lived on the ranch, really beautiful and thoughtful, thank you! We, and our dogs really enjoy your work, thank you!
Wow excellent video Jason .
First! I always wanted to do this 🤣🤣
But seriously, love the videos 👍👍
Thanks for the video!
Amazing!
Some great shots man! Really!!
Beautiful Jason
Another great video, nature, history and adventure, this one had it all, great job.
Small wood comes through once again!
Well done! What a beautiful ranch and you did a great job portraying the story being it all.
Wow, great work both on making it to your destination and the amazing video. Thank you for documenting these remote corners of our beautiful state. Are you going to be sharing the route? Thanks again.
10:07 looks like tail wheel off a sickle bar..I have an IH one here, gonna check tomorrow to see if I am correct. Also shots of a "drop rake" musta been grassy enough to cut hay. Nice vid
Incredible video my man. Cinematography and voice over was inspiring. I begin my full time van life journey on February 1st and can’t wait to make videos like this that touch so many people.
Another brilliant edit! The drone flying is amazing!
Gorgeous video. Thanks.
Magnificient🤟🤩
it must be very fun camping like this
A great video Jason. Love the story of the house, reminds me of many similar here in Western Australia. Cheers
Never seen a bag style jerry can before, definitely have to look for them now.
Great drone footage!
That drone game!
Awesome video
I like how u can just pack up and move your house wher u want
Very well done....... NOW..... how did you do the fly throughs? Fantastic!
Yeah buddy 🤙
Your videos are always so well done! Do you have wheel spacers on that ran or is your wheels just offset that much? Seems you have a lot of tire poking out from the fenders and didn't know if that messes with your ability to fit between objects besides your ladder haha
Is that a new drone getting those shots?
Do you have maps available of the route you took ? I’ve been wanting to get away from the willamette valley and go explore the owahee area with my boys for a few years now !
Yay!!
Wow.
Does a little spilled fuel effect the LINE-X? I've been thinking about doing this to my van. Love your channel btw.
No it doesn’t bother it . I have had spray liners for decades.
Jason, who makes your stove?
That would have been an interesting time to live in. Not like it is today. You really had to work back in the day but not like today where everything is online given to you or just a different world. It would have been interesting. No it would have been interesting.👍👍🙂🇨🇦🔥
👍
Love this adventure and the background on the ranch. Well done. I have to ask, what drone are you flying? Of all the RUclips creators I sub to, you seem to get the most use out of yours.
Where in the world did you guys store enough gas and fuel for this trip?
I’d love to do a paranormal investigation there. Wonder if she’s still around? 👻
Really nice job. Love this one. Keep on with the great Overlanding videos. PS: it’s much more than “content”…that word always sounds like filler to me. I’d call these adventures or something more special.
You guys need to realize we don't 2 fucks about your journey. We need an escape because you can be camping outdoors and we are stuck at home with toddlers. We also know 100% of your stuff is free or paid for. Please keep us Dads in mind and put out content that has fire camp busting ballz
If she raised her babies in that he house, she left with regret.
Bogus made Donald go get feul cause he saw the ranch already, so did you
