Wow, I was weeping by the end of this commercial...but it is so much more. This thing captures everything that can be right. Thank GOD for soldiers, for families that welcome them home. And thank God for even the unique memory that a car when we were teens can still evoke. God Bless you all
My Dad did give me his 10 year old Civic when I came home after four years and multiple deployments, at least it's a drivable car with usable backseats. Thanks Dad, I really appreciate it.
Wish I went after hi school in 02 bc now In my late 30s I know it is a honor to be in the military 🪖. My out look now is Being a American is signing up is a American tradition.
Those 83 die-hard Chevy fans decided that even though this was probably one of the most heart-warming ever made, they were still going to dislike the video no matter what.
The Vietnam generation of veterans couldn't even wear uniiforms in airports without being jeered at. There were no yellow ribbons, and nobody was even curious where we had been.
Im 17. Birthday is in a month exactly, my first car was and still is an 05 GT. Satin Silver. Worked my ass off for it, and took my first date out with it too. Ford for Life!!!!!!
I know this is a old video but it came across my recommended videos. So im taking the time to show my gratitude and appreciation for all who has/is serving for our country. Mad respect!!!!!
1. Tugged real hard on the heartstrings. 2. LOL at the kids commenting when they don't actually own a vehicle. 3. If you don't like America or the people serving it I'll help you pack. I can give you a long list of other countries that you would enjoy.
womanwonder10 TY I'm going to need it. Just went threw a C&P review from the VA= VA is looking at reducing my %. They will have an answer in 6 weeks, if I loose $, appeals take 2 years. As it is I'm living below poverty level and cant work if I wanted to.
My cousin did 4 tours in Iraq/Afghanistan and bought himself a Mustang when he returned the last time. I brought him to the dealership to pick it up after he arrived at the airport. This video is so close to the feeling I had when I saw him lay eyes on it for the first time. Powerful video!
I don't care if I'm a "fan" of Chevrolet, this commercial is beautiful and badass. Above all I'm a fan of American cars, Ford, Dodge, and putting my personal favorite last, Chevrolet. Whatever you drive or own be proud of it, and be tolerant of the guy who drives a different vehicle than you.
Mustangs have always been fun cars to have. Nothing feels better than owning one. That powerful and loud v8 is every Americans dream. All this new electronic shifting shit can't give a person the feeling of a good old stick shift on a weekend.
I am so glad I watched this. This is a REAL commercial. Fantastic. I just bought a Ford. Always owned foreign. It is a company that I am proud of for being responsible and not taking bail-out money like the others. I will never buy GM for that principle alone. I am also proud of our service men and women for their service in a difficult situation. My dad has had Fords- aerostar, taurus and explorer and neither had any troubles and he had high mileage on them.
retired military soldier: "Wow, Ford... so you're giving me this car in return for my service to this country?" Ford: "uuuhm.. well... uuh, you know... actually.... I mean NOT REALLY... [embarassingly laughing]... this was just meant metaphorically... you know... like you don't ACTUALLY get this car... like.. you know... BUT we're really proud of you... so... you take care" Ford leaves the chat*
My 22 yo son in law was killed in Afghanistan jan 07 2007. Leaving behind his wife who have been together since elementary school and Sunday school. At the time he had a yo daughter and 3 yo Son. This really got to me as my son never returned home.
G'day from downunda. I love my GT Falcon, and I love the American Mustangs, old and new. We do make pretty good cars, there and here. Ford, #1 forever!
i got a 89 ford bronco 214k miles, and a ford f150 157k miles. both run like the day they came out of the factory. dont look it, but they do. buddy of mine has a 98 ranger. 320k miles! runs perfect.
My 1995 Lincoln Town Car has 318,000-miles. Since new it has only had several power window repairs, rear air suspension conversion to coil springs, 1-water pump, and one a/c heat blend door. Not bad for 318,000-miles with over half being in town miles. Ford has always been good to the armed forces and Ford goes out of its way to give troops jobs. I think Ford is a great American company and I will continue to buy Ford. I have a 2009 F-150 that has 42,000- trouble free miles.
it's in theses moments that I wish I had a family that are as close as they look like they are... Mine is nfg at all but I accepted this a long time ago, the family of my wife to be is my real family now, I had a dream, it got realize differently.. like Ford.. He believe in his and look today where he took us......
see, toyotas, nissans, and all the other foreign cars may be made in america. But a real company is based here with a ceo who can speak english. Ford has american icons, Mustang, F-series. Not to mention, not taking a bailout. Real americans drive a ford through and through
How I felt when I came home and got mine outta storage only thing was I bought my own just before deployment. then about 8 months later after gettin married made the mistake of trading it in. I stayed ford and got an f150 but I miss my mustang and I will get another.
I was expecting him to press the key on which the camera pans out to an old Ford focus and the dad to start laughing. A bit like that numskull commercial :D
I've never heard of a 5 minute commercial. If I was watching something really important to me and this thing came on for five minutes, I'd probably throw my remote through the tv.
too bad that they dont make commercials that hit close to home like this anymore. the way you sell cars is to make the customer feel like they are a part of something bigger and this commercial makes me respect ford more because not only of the touching storyline, but also how they threw that personal message to our armed forces at the end of it. great commercial and good job ford.
Our 1997 Ford E-250 church van has 240,000-trouble free miles. I think for the most part that if you take very good care of your vehicle and drive it right you should be able to get 150-250,000-miles out of most any brand of car.
what a great commercial what a great great car Ford first on race day fast on race day and last but certainly not least ferocious on race day no junk Chevrolet
I've always been 100% GMC my first was a 57 Chevy.. GMC made Tanks in WW11 and a list of other thing as did Ford. Without them we might be writing in German or Japenese. I will say this Commercial made me feel good. Welcome home to all Our Troops
Ford, the Hallmark of American auto manufacturing. No bail out ever. GM has been bailed out 3 times. If your into a lesser vehicle then GM is for you. If you are a patriot, drive a Ford.
The Explorer is one of the few vehicles with a high percentage of domestic parts. On the other hand, Ford's Fusion and Fiesta for example are assembled with a high percentage of foreign made parts. Just because a vehicle is ASSEMBLED in the US, like your parent's explorer, doesn't mean it contains 100% American made parts. However, the explorer is in fact one of the few vehicles with a very high percentage of American parts. Accords and Camrys are more "American made" than some "US" vehicles.
Since it seems like everyones giving their opinions, heres mine. I like Chevy,Ford, and Dodge, each have their ups and downs. My family all drive chevys and such, but i also really like the cummins from dodge, and ford is truly a good company, so i would be fine with all three. Why cant it be so easy like that for everyone?
@posthumanfetus you call yourself an American right? Well, how could a commercial like this hurt your 5 waistless minutes of life?! This was a beautiful commerical, very well done. It tells a story and it asks that all American Support our Armed Forces.
True, but you also have to factor in the amount of Tax Revenue that the gov't would have lost from GM vehicle sales. Good and bad results came from the bailouts.
Wow, I was weeping by the end of this commercial...but it is so much more. This thing captures everything that can be right. Thank GOD for soldiers, for families that welcome them home. And thank God for even the unique memory that a car when we were teens can still evoke. God Bless you all
Yeah, I remember all those who welcomed us back -- nobody, nobody, and nobody.

Better bump that to 115.
I'm not a ford guy but this is a damn good commercial
Unfortunately he had already bought one right after boot camp from a dealer right off base, 10 year payment plan at 76% interest.
Ken MacMillan Holy fuck! My SSgt used to tell the new Marines in my unit about dealerships just off base!
They're real shysters. Avoid them at all costs.
I just know someone, somewhere in the comment section is gonna be like "that's a mustang commercial, not a ford one"
Ferds and mustangs are the same thing, whaaaaaaaaa........
CharlieTownend it's a chevelle commercial what are you talking about?!?
You were that person
I know this is a old video but it came across my recommended videos. So im taking the time to show my gratitude and appreciation for all who has/is serving for our country. Mad respect!!!!!
This commercial first aired on NBC’s American Dreams on Sunday nights. Ford made this commercial to introduce the new 2005 Mustang.
This is why I love ford they run in the family

Best commercial I've seen in a long time. Wasn't expecting this. I have 3 Fords in my driveway.
Mustangs have always been fun cars to have. Nothing feels better than owning one. That powerful and loud v8 is every Americans dream. All this new electronic shifting shit can't give a person the feeling of a good old stick shift on a weekend.

G'day from downunda. I love my GT Falcon, and I love the American Mustangs, old and new. We do make pretty good cars, there and here. Ford, #1 forever!
The Most Awesome Car Commercial EVER..
That's my dream car right there
Red 2005 mustang GT
This one is a spot on match
i got a 89 ford bronco 214k miles, and a ford f150 157k miles. both run like the day they came out of the factory. dont look it, but they do. buddy of mine has a 98 ranger. 320k miles! runs perfect.
Yes, that was the whole point of the advert. To tell you they did. It was to thank them for serving the country.
Love the fact the s197 is meant to be a newer Remake of the classic. Fits perfectly
My 1995 Lincoln Town Car has 318,000-miles. Since new it has only had several power window repairs, rear air suspension conversion to coil springs, 1-water pump, and one a/c heat blend door. Not bad for 318,000-miles with over half being in town miles.

Was this shot in texas?
best commercial ever
How I felt when I came home and got mine outta storage only thing was I bought my own just before deployment. then about 8 months later after gettin married made the mistake of trading it in. I stayed ford and got an f150 but I miss my mustang and I will get another.
For all the bickering going on here, you have to admit this is one hell of a commercial. Ford hit our hearts with this one.
Fuck the haters I friggin luv this ad .....go the Blue Oval .
I was expecting him to press the key on which the camera pans out to an old Ford focus and the dad to start laughing. A bit like that numskull commercial :D
you sir, deserve a medal. go blue oval.
sometimes I wish we had longer commercials like this!
That wasnt a commercial...it was a good movie!
Commerical that was a movie, bravo bravo
Now there's a million of those on craigslist for cheap :P. Shoulda gave him the cobra
I've never heard of a 5 minute commercial. If I was watching something really important to me and this thing came on for five minutes, I'd probably throw my remote through the tv.
Yeh it’s goated
this is seriously the first ever commercial that had me get emocional...

only comercial to ever make me cry lol!

what a great commercial what a great great car Ford first on race day fast on race day and last but certainly not least ferocious on race day no junk Chevrolet

The red mustang doesn’t look bad it still kept its sharp look
Ford, the Hallmark of American auto manufacturing. No bail out ever. GM has been bailed out 3 times. If your into a lesser vehicle then GM is for you. If you are a patriot, drive a Ford.
Before I watch it(saw soldiers): Am I going to cry?
During the video: YEP
After: THAT MUSTANG THOUGH!
FutureTrucker Jen RIGHT!
"And watch out for crowds son".
A wonderful to our troops and to an iconic American masterpiece.
There are two kinds of people, the ones who drive a Ford, and the ones who wish they drove one.
This is the best Ford Commercial ever and reflects on the company as a whole, Go Ford
Besides his dads Shelby
The best commercial(actually made me want a mustang)😊

Since it seems like everyones giving their opinions, heres mine.

@posthumanfetus you call yourself an American right? Well, how could a commercial like this hurt your 5 waistless minutes of life?! This was a beautiful commerical, very well done. It tells a story and it asks that all American Support our Armed Forces.
