    Hello honey,
I’m only 18 but I’m obsessed with accessories and jewelry I’m thinking about being a jewelry designer but I don’t know if it’s a must to join jewelry design school?? Or I can study interior design, PT etc… and then learn how to design them by myself or any course and make my own brand?
    Thanks in advance ❤️❤️❤️

I think you will gain so much experience and skill if you were to join a specific jewellery/silversmith course, as you'll be more aware of how it it is to work with metal and a better understanding of the production side of the business. I definitely notice a difference working with customers who have a jewellery background compared to those without one :-)

Hi Kim! I had a question about your experiences with customers ordering rings to be made by your facility. Which sizes and what quantity of each ring size should a designer order from a manufacturer when starting out? I know you mentioned that new designers usually order 20 pieces to start with, but when it comes to rings it is a little daunting to figure out how many to get made of each ring size when it comes to men's and women's rings. Thank you for all the helpful information, love your videos!

Hi Anthonie! Funny enough one of my next videos was going to be on rings, it's sizes etc. Great question! So the 20 pcs to start with is just our terms of our minimum quantity for an official order (not sampling). In general, the most popular size rings that my customers order for Ladies is: L, M, N, O and P. That doesn't mean you have to go for those 5 sizes but could potentially opt for say 3 sizes, maybe call it a Small (L), Medium (N) and Large (P) - some of my customers prefer to do that. Having said that I also have customers where they will order in the half sizes too, so L, L1/2, M, M1/2 etc because they find some consumers want to have an exact size. It makes sense to do that and also if lets say their main focus is rings within their jewellery collection.
Also I think it depends on the ring design, if you're designing heavy signet rings for example, expect the more larger sizes to sell as opposed to finer more dainty rings. The quantity should depend on a) what your supplier's min quantities are and 2) what size(s) ends up being your best sellers so you know what sizes to order more of in your repeat order.
With regards to men's sizes, I've found the average men’s ring size is somewhere between size R and U so again, if you're not too sure then an S and T would be safe. I manufacture more women's rings though so I could confidently say that ring sizes between L-P are the most ordered. I hope that helps and thanks for prompting me to do a vid on rings soon!
