The original mold used for Shattered Glass Sideswipe had a missile launcher with two very long missiles. The missiles could be held in his hands and used as clubs. So this guy just got clubs.

On the original Armada Wheeljack the missiles he can fire could be used as clubs in robot mode, so that's what those batons as you called them are. Armada Wheeljack also had a minicon named Windsheer who was renamed Whisper when the original Shattered Glass Sideswipe was made in reference to the G1 micromaster of the same name. The shoulder missile launcher can also be plugged into the side of Sideswipe's alt-mode. And Whisper's alt-mode is kinda a rough amalgamation of a B2 stealth bomber and F-117 stealth fighter
There's also enough space to just chuck the matrix inside the torso in both modes

Great looking set! Wish we had a Pulse Canada because the shipping ok these is pricey! The colour schemes on both figs are what sells it. In terms of slight retooling and colour swaps this is how it's done. I only wish they used more SS86 toys molds for the SG line. Imagine SS86 Ultra Magnus in SG colours. Great review mate!

@@ToysareRuss Gamestop for pre orders, toy shows for older figs and Facebook groups for everything else. I can't get SG figures at all in Canada unless I want to pay a huge markup!
I can't wait till mine arrives. Then I will have all of the Sideswipe molds except the Toxitron version. That's gonna be a hard find where I live. There really getting there moneys worth out of that mold. Great video. 👍👍✌️

Got mine yesterday, they’re a cool pair. Not sure if yours is the same but the “neck” on Sideswipe sticks up more than all the previous versions of the mould, and it doesn’t look like he’s peaking out over his chest lol 👍🏻

I got this set on preorder and they really do look great and I am looking forward to them. I've gotten them all since prime and ratchet in gen selects and we need more decepticons really but I really like the deco differences of the sg universe.

I only managed to collect the original Hasbro Armada Wheeljack with his Mini-Con, Wind Sheer; as well as the Takara Micron Densetsu Rampage special 5-pack with 3 of the X-Dimension Jet Microns & his partner Micron, Hawk.
This certainly looks titillating! (But what do we do with that Hot Rod redeco? Do not fancy that mould which is prone to breakage.)

Cheers for this, helped me to decide to buy one. It’s a nice way for me of owning a Rodimus without having to buy the trailer, which I don’t really have room for. Plus a Sideswipe and cool colours - bargain 😊

It's horrible how they package transformers now. Wrapped in the cheapest toilet paper they could find. There is no window at most a big hole in the box that exposes the figure to all of the elements. Great job, Hasbro!
Some of the closed boxes I’m now ok with as the art and detail on them is insanely good.
@ToysareRuss I do like the artwork as well. I miss the ability to be able to display them in their box. I'm an in-box and an out of box collector. The cardboard they use is even cheap and flimsy until you get to the leader class. I miss the ability to see what you're getting without having to open it. Even if I'm going to keep it in-box, I have to open it to make sure the right piece is in it.
It’s funny you call him rodimus unicronous, when that toy was originally based off his shattered glass appearance anyway.
The story behind sideswipe is kind of funny. When they made wheeljack in Japan, they were looking into more G1 aesthetics, and so he just happened to look like sideswipe. So when they started doing shattered glass and used Unicron trilogy molds to represent G1 characters, wheeljack was chosen for sideswipe. But since wheeljack had the whole, scratched out Autobot logo into Decepticon, they had to keep that for sideswipes character as well. So now shattered glass sideswipe is a former evil Autobot now good Decepticon

Why do you never show shoulder articulation in your review videos? You do shoulder rotation, but never articulation. Pretty consistent with all your reviews too

@@ToysareRuss I'm sorry, it's the rotation, or spinning the shoulder around that you do show. It's shoulder articulation, or shoulder extension is what you omit. For example, show is the armpit, if that makes sense
