if my cargo which was initially booked to the USA and change destination (not in USA) after the vessel departed, what do i do with the AMS that i have filed? do i delete them? or change the details of POD?
If you are the cargo owner, you cannot change the details in AMS. Your freight forwarder or the NVOCC will do the amendments subject to penalties as necessary.
Hi, If I was a broker only, i have my own freight forwarder. Basically, i will be the middle men between freightforwarder and clienr. Who will be notified as party, who will be the consignee?
Consignee is the party who handover the goods to the freight forwarder. If you act as the consignee (Issue cargo related documents like invoices,) you will be the consignee. If you are only acting as a middle party to assist the communications, actual cargo receiver will be the consignee. Notify party could be either the consignee or consignee's bank. It depends on the payment term related to the transaction. You may read/watch articles on NVOCC, freight forwarder and international trade for better understanding
Hello i have a question if i,m a freight forwarder and i have process HBL and MBL what detail i shoud to filling AMS sample HBL No. or MBL no. normaly carrier is already filling AMS and ISF shipper they are handle this process correct pls advise
Hello, Shipping line files AMS and Consignees should file ISF. Yet, as a freight forwarder, you too must file AMS with the HBL. Mainline file AMS with the MBL.
Hi Johanna, To fill AMS you should have a software which has access to Automated Broker Interface (ABI) of US Customs Border Protection. There are software available in the market which you can purchase. You need to contact CBP to register your company for AMS filing
