As an enchanter player myself, I noticed that that's how you know when they're not really good at the champion. Yeah, just imagine climbing ranked from perspective of being a babysitter without actually getting paid for your time invested. Kind of like being a parent. A great concept to embrace and master, definitely pays off in middle stage of human life.
I guess the same rule applies to all roles. From a jungle perspective, identifying your ADC as a spammer or cautious farmer can give you information to play around with. For hard shovers/vulnerable laners, you can expect to have to countergank. For a Safe wave controller, you can take your time and engage around enemy cooldowns.
As a (bad) support player, this is definitly what i find the most interesting in playing supp : what kind of adc are you playing with ? It changes almost everygame, even if sometimes, we just can't match.
When playing support you dictate the laning phase with your superior utilities. Hence why Skill Capped is recommending ADC to play around the (can be bad) supports. In my experience coaching most low ELO ADCs will follow an engage even if it’s bad. They would only stop following engages if you constantly mess up. My problem in lower Elo is I think I’ve maybe played with a support champion 2 times. They’re usually playing some midlane mage or something weird like nasus. So I’ve just switched to playing Sivir and I wave clear for days. Problem is in team fights I have absolutely no help. Cause no support. But I’ve been slowly climbing this way regardless.
This is the longest winded explanation I have ever seen for telling ADCs "play around your support they set the tone of the lane." There is nothing worse as a support than when you know you have the advantage or even traded to get it, and your ADC doesn't follow up and throws it away. The whole reason I learned to roam was because I kept getting passive ADCs who simply refused to take the easy setups.
Although there is so much truth to this, there lacks an understanding or care to utilize match up strengths in CHAMP SELECT. One main reason cait & lux are a strong duo is their pushing power. The ability to shove lane and keep the enemy poked, even under tower. But then there are those Lux players who Q into your minion wave and only E after hitting a snare. Telling an AD to play further up or around the supp when they don't understand the potential of own champ? Let alone combination? That leads to poor outcomes altogether.
Separately just wanted to note how many laners aren't paying attention to level 2 timing and how to take advantage or even give up space accordingly. If playing tristana, I'm leveling W 2nd ready to go in. If my nautilus isn't walking up hitting minion or prepping a hook angle, how can I play around that better? It takes BOTH players to have some knowledge, then to use it. Lol 👌🏿
So the video basically says "pll in low elo have different strenghts, so you have to be strong at everything to be able to play with everyone" So you need to be a really good played with masters or above skills to climb from low elo
What I get is a Morgana perma W'ing the wave vs Leona/Draven, miss timing her E, dying 24/7 and blaming me for it. Well, at least I could see some things I can apply to my games, thank you.
At this point in league my issue is even if my lane is positive bot theres always a jumgler or top lane feeding someone who shouldnt be fed and the whole game goes down even if theyre shut down 😂 but great tips for the lane appreciate it 🎉
I had a support feed 5 kills before the 5 min mark. Next game, passive Support so I let the enemy slow push a couple waves under tower because I could not contest alone and my support decided to raom in that instant leaving me to try to farm 2 waves under tower while a Jhin, Blitz is blasting me under the tower. This was a Plat support... I think Support is one of the most misunderstood roles. It wouldnt be as bad if it wasn't every game that my support is trash and the enemy support is not.
What if this happens in higher elo where your enemy lane is actually competent and adjusting to your support's "playstyle" leads to losing the lane (either forcing lost fights or playing passively and not being able to farm / getting poked too much)
how to deal with a supp who keeps hitting the cs, constantly pushing the wave, and then dying around the enemy tower by being exposed to ganks? the last game i played kaisa i had a galio against range and when i got my first skill, i managed to get 1 of a 3 players dive under my tower even without my supp, and he was 060 atm 😢
Do you have a video with advice on what to do with the "afk Brand" type of support? The sort of Brand player that sits 20 yards back and never even attempts to throw out any skills, literally having no presence or pressure (even the Amumu in the video was at least positioned in a way where he was a threat even if he didn't do anything). I can adapt to most types of support players but I have no idea how to play with that.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY PLAYING ADC IS A MIND NUMBING EXPERIENCE... Out 5 games, you would only get 1 decent support. You're seriously better off just playing 1v2 and permanently just freezing the wave for a gank (which is exactly what happened in the amumu kaisa game) Support is the only role in the game that doesn't correlate to rank (until diamond and above anyways). The only thing consistent about support roles from iron until low diamond is that they would either play like silver in one game or like a diamond player (in a gold rank lobby).
Yeah I was also instantly wishing this video was from the other perspective. As a support player, I have these exact same issues and feelings about this topic. I found this pretty insightful.. Being on the same page is kind of the most important element… Making the right play, alone, becomes the wrong play… And that’s hard to manage sometimes… Like… I see an opportunity to shove and crash a wave and reset, and my adc is mad that I pushed the wave… Or I see an opportunity and I help set up a freeze, and I tank some minions to pull the wave, and home boy just blasts the minions I was holding… We have a “push” ping, I want a “freeze” ping 😂
@@MiloThatch420 i think press Ctrl and left click is good enough ( the yellow Stop sign) just spam it when u see your sp hitting the wave :))) or just ask them :)
If you cant dodge skills shots, you dont have mechanics, cant 2v1 and outplay 4 man dives give up on reaching high elo with adc. Your support is either the one that stands 10 meters behind you, or the support that dies once in lane and roams rest of game. Rank doesnt matter with support until D2+ (as other have mentioned in the comments). Half of the accounts are elo inflated. In some games you are playing 3v1 because support is actively screwing up wave management.
1:45 is a lie. Riot August confirmed that diamond midlaner may not be equal in terms of skill when compared to diamond support, it's more like system tries to balance supports in both teams lol. Sadly we don't have different ranks for different roles in game. Again, diamond support != diamond midlaner.
I had a friend, an adc, and I was supp and we played quite a lot together. I played aggressive supps and my friend played their adcs aggressive, so that was not a problem, however, once we switched roles, I was the most safe playing farmbot ever while my friend still was aggressive as supp, which ended up in us losing every lane. We quickly switched back after this incident. That said, whenever I play adc, I just hope everytime that my supp just does... absolutely nothing, because I know I can play safe and manage the wave alone. The only thing they should do is preventing the enemy supp to make a play on me or them. More often than not, the enemy is baited into a bad play cause they are simply bored! In my Elo, no one has patience.
Same I'm a super aggressive support but as ADC I want to farm till 2 items before even moving for a single fight ( only for gifted kills ( min 80% survivability))
While I do think that generally matching your support's playstyle does help, if you are stuck with someone just hiding behind you in lane, it is just doomed. You either don't match the playstyle, try to force things and fail like you said... or you stay back as well, letting the enemy push. While this seems like a decent option at first, it is basically just conceding the lane, giving their bot (probably unnecessary) prio, making life in mid and jungle a living hell. On the flip side i had supports going full ham on the enemy botlane while i was playing jhin and we just couldn't win a dps-race. This videos tip implies that just following that up helps, but it usually ended up badly, since the matchup just wasn't suited for that. So from my personal experience, I totally can not relate or agree with this point made in this video. What I said might only apply to high Diamong/low Master. Maybe in other elos the free prio might not be used by enemies as much. Or maybe I don't apply it right. Anyways still high quality video, thanks for putting those out for free. I learned a lot from them and if this vid helps anyone climb, hey who am i to judge :P
The problem isn't bad support mains, is the autofilled players who almost never play support and don't understand how the lane is different from other lanes.
Problem is, none of these players are supp players, they just got autofilled and then its up to the fact if they took their prescription today or not.... after 100 adc games these season i queued 1 garen top and actually played my first game of this season.
What about the games when ur team lead and then they just stop play and are just dying 1 by 1 in our jungle while enwmy team together takes all the objectives? Or when your aggressive type of player support/adc ich choosing fights that cannot be won? Trilion times I have played enchanter support with supoort items and end up with the mlst dmg dealth to enemy in game. Also with best warding score. And yet we lost. And the best option when you win bot with your support you had to adjust to him and after that 7/0 offtank toplaner kills you like you are a minion and you cant do shit about it because every single champ has now gap closer...
All they have to do is buff gradually adc in lower elos and bring an authentication system for preventing the smurfs/boosters. I don’t have to play like a Diamond just to have some sort of influence in a Gold elo match. No wonder finding a match as an adc only tooks a min because no one else plays it
The problem with that in my experience (not in league cause i'm new here but in other Mobas) is that when you ask a passive tank to engage, 2 things can happen as a result: - Either he';s gonna take it personally and will start tilting and play even worse. - Will not know how to engage at the right time and will just engage at the worse moment everytime since he has no experience engaging cause he's used to playing passive.

Me (playing alistar with phaserush) : i go in with "w" "q" "e" and run away. My adc: ooga booga have to save alistar => Dies or ADC: OOGA BOOGA alistar engages so this is fight he wants => losing the trade. ADC: useless support. Me: after disengaging => 100& hp while i poked them a little. I could do this without any help. conclusion i can't play phase rush alistar because it actively ruins synergy. I have not seen any compent adc understanding that i just want to play as a poke champ (in certain situations). It's truly sad, i can have very high winrates if my adc simply would stop dying for an engage which wasn't meant to be an all in.
Sum up your video: You're playing a shitty role that Riot can't fix and at the full whim of your support who has no clue how to play the actual game outside of tossing shields from 20ft behind, so there's nothing you can do.
Would be nice if my ADCs would give me some idea of what they want, instead of doing what appears to be random stuff from my viewpoint and then flaming me for not being perfect for whatever it is they wanted.
For once, this is just plain bullshit. 2nd exemple, opponents are very passive considering they basically play 2v1. That doesn't happen much. + they don't really explain how they got out of 1st perma push during 1st exemple. Usually the only way I found (certainly not the best of course) is to wait having him die to obvious gank, despite having used the push opportunity to deepward and spamming pings.
Yeah, this is the primary reason I prefer duo queue. When 99% of your league games see you botduoing with someone that you're in voice coms with, you get really in tune with their playstyle and can often learn a lot from each other. I picked up on aggression and trading from my partner and he picked up on wave management from me. And yeah, League of Legends is a fundamentally different game when you're on the same wavelength as your support. It's much more fun that way, if nothing else.
And then you have players that think they can swap to support for the first time in diamond because they had a bad run on their main champ and role and they're just clearly not up to caliber but played it anyway cuz they're upset. That or autofills, and then it's doomed. Pray the jungler or your solo lanes are good and play for other lanes I guess lol.

This was a Plat support... I think Support is one of the most misunderstood roles. It wouldnt be as bad if it wasn't every game that my support is trash and the enemy support is not.
ahaha, tuesday night, what a LoL specific description!
I've gotta say, i have learned an insanely important "trick" with this video. Thank you very much.
In my last game my Support was 0 2 min 1:30. He thought it would be smart to invade alone... Twice
What if this happens in higher elo where your enemy lane is actually competent and adjusting to your support's "playstyle" leads to losing the lane (either forcing lost fights or playing passively and not being able to farm / getting poked too much)
Thanks, maybe that's what I love about ADC. You need to play together to win
A random criticism, but I actually really liked the music in this video! It’s good to hear things switched up.
how to deal with a supp who keeps hitting the cs, constantly pushing the wave, and then dying around the enemy tower by being exposed to ganks?
the last game i played kaisa i had a galio against range and when i got my first skill, i managed to get 1 of a 3 players dive under my tower even without my supp, and he was 060 atm 😢
Most of my supports put all their points into inting.
You don't. You CS for the entirety of laning phase, and then you join teamfights.
instructions unclear my nautilus keeps dying over and over landing hooks on the wall and blaming me for it, at 0/3 he goes midlane and runs it.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY PLAYING ADC IS A MIND NUMBING EXPERIENCE...
Out 5 games, you would only get 1 decent support. You're seriously better off just playing 1v2 and permanently just freezing the wave for a gank (which is exactly what happened in the amumu kaisa game)
Support is the only role in the game that doesn't correlate to rank (until diamond and above anyways). The only thing consistent about support roles from iron until low diamond is that they would either play like silver in one game or like a diamond player (in a gold rank lobby).
sometimes you get a yuumi who sits afk on you, not even a q to speak of
yo do a guide for supp
plz
Yeah I was also instantly wishing this video was from the other perspective.
As a support player, I have these exact same issues and feelings about this topic.
I found this pretty insightful..
Being on the same page is kind of the most important element…
Making the right play, alone, becomes the wrong play…
And that’s hard to manage sometimes…
Like… I see an opportunity to shove and crash a wave and reset, and my adc is mad that I pushed the wave…
Or I see an opportunity and I help set up a freeze, and I tank some minions to pull the wave, and home boy just blasts the minions I was holding…
We have a “push” ping, I want a “freeze” ping 😂
This is a support guide. Recognize what kind of player the ADC is and adapt to it.
@@MiloThatch420 i think press Ctrl and left click is good enough ( the yellow Stop sign) just spam it when u see your sp hitting the wave :))) or just ask them :)
BROOOO WHEN I SUP AMUMU , WE ALWAYS WIN 😂😂😂. He has stun. That's like one of the most OP things about him
If you cant dodge skills shots, you dont have mechanics, cant 2v1 and outplay 4 man dives give up on reaching high elo with adc.
As a support main it's hard to know that when I lock in my neeko, and need to win early to stay relevant
If they hide behind you just tell them to go roam and then 1v2
Most of the time i get supports wanting me to engage and wondering why i am so bad at it. Then flame me for not going in or starting something.
The problem isn't bad support mains, is the autofilled players who almost never play support and don't understand how the lane is different from other lanes.
"the support you're playing with is the same elo as you"
RUclipsrs constantly sending challenger players in to bronze:
I don't understand what 7/8 of those stats on the octagon is supposed to represent in game
No wonder finding a match as an adc only tooks a min because no one else plays it
How to adapt to your support not only sitting back but also flaming you?
I mean, in the mumu support game, why not just ask them if they are okay with engaging? Pings also work.
The problem with that in my experience (not in league cause i'm new here but in other Mobas) is that when you ask a passive tank to engage, 2 things can happen as a result:
- Either he';s gonna take it personally and will start tilting and play even worse.
- Will not know how to engage at the right time and will just engage at the worse moment everytime since he has no experience engaging cause he's used to playing passive.
Do you have a video on runes, secondaries and so on. I'm new and I have no idea what they are?
I'm the agressive type who flames the adc for not following.
Me too brother they always just barely get away because my AD wont follow
I wish I had y’all as supports 😭 My friend is semi-new and refuses to maintain a line with me. Just stands back. As Rakan of all champions.
@@medbot728as a „semi-new“ Player by myself:
Rakan is Not the best supp to learn the game.
I started with seraphine, she is super easy to Master
Or let him Play tanks since thats Meta: leona, nauti, amumu, maokai… super easy champs to learn.
Best Luck for your Next Games as Duo Lane, Hope These Picks may help your bro improving his gameplay 👌🏻
Best tip: me and my Duo mate abuse amumu + miss fortune. The fun begins lvl 6 😉
@@medbot728make him play soraka and nami at least he will heal u
Aggresive supports= bad, the adc decides when to all in and stuff
What’s the skill of my afk lux that is consistently q-ing the wave and losing me bunch of farm over time while refusing to base at 1hp just to get aa once under zurret and dies?
How do u stay sane being a slave to ur supports playstyle when u can just play a solo lane and have fun lol ADC main since season 4 and im having a blast in lanes where i decide everything. Would only adc if i have a support im duoed with that matches my playstyle
And thats is why there are 5 roles in the game, for me, i never solo lane.
Most of the time I focus on the enemy champs and help my adc feed to the point when I go help jg the adv can solo both of em
Just add voice chat and willa be no problem
Im the "fuck it, we ball" kind of support
Well if you dont try to force early and wait for support to engage... well you'll press tab at 6 min and mid jung and enemy top are all feed af and you cannot even fight them. So yeah cool concept but arent applicable in real scenario
pyke main so if the adcs ass i leave lane 😭
Is this narrator Ezreal's voice actor? Dude, definitely sounds like him.
Sum up your video: You're playing a shitty role that Riot can't fix and at the full whim of your support who has no clue how to play the actual game outside of tossing shields from 20ft behind, so there's nothing you can do.
i will categorize this taric as a warwick player
"You should not tilt about", my stomach just screaming USE THE FKIN QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ
actual good video lol did NOT expect that
Would be nice if my ADCs would give me some idea of what they want, instead of doing what appears to be random stuff from my viewpoint and then flaming me for not being perfect for whatever it is they wanted.
So it should work the other way around right?
How do you know that you will hit lvl 2?
A standard Tuesday night LMAO 🤣
"if your support is bad at one thing that just means they're good at another"
Who's gonna tell him?
20 dollars for 1 month? bro thats not normal stop putting the yearly month price at the end of the video thx
Once I tried to play support... now I play only mid cuz it is much easier (I don't even have a rank)
8:16 ya sure you guys aint low elo? that q is blocked
When I see my support pick ashe or twitch, I know I'm fucked
I can’t tell if this video gaslit me into thinking I’m a good adc and my supports are just bad
What if my support goes mid all game
The only role where you aren't even allowed to have your own playstyle if you wanna win xD.
This is such an obvious non-obvious thought. Thanks!
Try this from iron 4 playing adc solo, then ill subcribe to this service
I mean if playing Sona Soraka Lulu and enchanters in general could get every support players in platinum...I suppose we would know 😂
I applied these tips to real life with my new business partner and things are going great now, thank you
For once, this is just plain bullshit.
What about support that who doesnt stop dying D:
Yeah, this is the primary reason I prefer duo queue. When 99% of your league games see you botduoing with someone that you're in voice coms with, you get really in tune with their playstyle and can often learn a lot from each other. I picked up on aggression and trading from my partner and he picked up on wave management from me. And yeah, League of Legends is a fundamentally different game when you're on the same wavelength as your support. It's much more fun that way, if nothing else.
99 % supps have big ego and mad
That Amumu man....
0-11 supports put all points in to boosting.
This guy sounds exactly what i imagine a challenger neckbeard to sound like
If that amumu was my support I would of called him useless that he's taking my xp and I'd be better off alone 👍
I feel like this video is disregarding the fact that the adc himself has strengths and weaknesses and probably cant adapt to certain playstyles.
One tip. Click the fucking lantern.
