- La tappa di Coppa del Mondo di Vertical Kilometer disputata a Canazei (Val di Fassa) il 20 luglio 2012. Percorso di 2100 metri da Alba di Canazei a Crepa Neigra, dislivello 1000 metri. Vittorie di Antonella Confortola e di Nejc Kuhar.
The guy without the poles is clear winner
His name is Kilian Jornet. He is the best mountain runner in the world. Has climbed the Everest in 17 hours, alone, without sherpa and without oxygen !

TheLutrien no, it’s not. Jornet is 3rd. I don’t know the name of the second (the ones without canes), but i know Jornet, and he have canes.
According to the results, the 2nd guy is Saúl Antonio Padua, a vertical kilometer specialist from Columbia.

@@ondrejsmejkal1525 You are absolutely right ! Jornet had No 37, ran with canes and no shirt (only the number). Apologize. But Jornet is the guy interviewed with the green vest at the end.
Kilian is still a great runner he's just won the race Sierre-Zinal (32 km) in Switzerland for the 8th time !
The guy taking the wrong turn at the end was easy going to win, how gutted he must gave been.
Pathing is part of the game. IMO, it felt like a bit of a coin toss between him and Kuhar had he not decided to take the turn (It's a loss of about 4-6 seconds, but the difference between the two competitors was 8 seconds). Saúl Antonio Padua Rodriguez only looks like he's going faster because he's constantly transitioning between high cadence uphill running and power hiking while Kuhar can consistently double pole.
That said, not using poles, taking a wrong turn, and still beating Killian Jornet by a lot is pretty badass.

Coredores dicen que Killian puede correr un marathon plano en 2:20-2:18, que es muy lento para ser sincero

What are the officials for if they can't provide clear directions to the participants? Felt sorry for the second placer. They should review this. Top 2 guys even beat Kilian.
Apparently he wasn't fresh enough to think clearly. Poles serve to better distribute Energy in this kind of races and spare glycogen in leg muscles
@@mattiabianuccitrainer Yeah, but there was an officiating member just a couple of feet away and should have directed the top 2 guy on the right direction. We are not talking about how effective poles are as it varies between individuals.

es saul antonio padua... pero sobrado, sin palos si no a punta de panela. lamentablemente al final cambia de ruta y se atrasa lo suficiente para perder el primer lugar. tercero Kilian, muestra de poder de saul

The world record for a 1000 meter climb is under 30 minutes. the average Joe, like myself, thinks doing it in under 1 hour 50 minutes is the bees knees. Can't imagine doing it nearly 4 times faster.
And, to be honest, the average Joe needs over 3 and a half hours to go up 1000m....
I'll be very happy if I can be by the goal line in less than two hours this autumn, so my time gets officially recorded...😅
