    Very good QandA session. It clearly shows deep thinking and respect for art , talim and guru. He is also a polished speaker who doesn't venue into politically incorrect remarks. His tabla playing is beyond words.
    This bethak is wonderful. Please do host more of such bethaks.
    Please do bring Carnatic musicians such as Prince Rama Varma sometime.

    Thank you Pandit Arwind ji for these rare gems of your sessions.
    1. Yogesh ji has been very honest in his deliberations, and so informative too.
    2. There are only a select few who have sweetness of the tabla sound, as is with Pt Yogesh.
    Don't want to compare, but this is what goes best with the instrumental music, like sitar, sarod, violin & even santoor.
    Thanks again.💐💐🎉🎉

    I don't know if u would notice my comments. However, my high regards for Arvind Parikh Saheb. My late Grandfather spoke very well of you and he mentioned you quite often after meetings back home .
    You are among those lost generations who are not diplomatic or rather evasive in their response and opinion on matters of Concern.
    Very well pointed out the apathy among vocalists ignoring to mention the credit of the creator of the Bandishes and your approach towards fusion.
    A lie can be defended in numerous pretexts, & Truth could cry hard to prove itself. But finally truth prevails.
    This Bebaak & Akhadd mijaaz is what I loved in my Grandfather Pt. Abhay Narayan Mallick and I loved to see in you.
    Great Endeavour, to organise Baithaks with Such Great artistes like Shamsi Saheb in a Podcast format.
    I hope & pray this goes on to shape up in musical conferences of 50s & 60s when artistes stayed together & Listened, interacted and appreciated LIVE.
    My Grand father always bemoaned the dying of this ritual.
    It used to be like an annual Akhada.
    Again my huge regards to you Sir Parekh and your team.
    Jai BHARAT ✊

    Arvind ji should speak to Zakir bhai on the topic of concept of fusion. This arrogance of the classical music is sad. Desh mein bhi fusion hai, pehle bhi tha. Even when two gharanas or two classical art forms come together, it is FUSION

    • @rupaknagar
      @rupaknagar 4 года назад

      Arnab with due respect the 2 gharanas singing together is different thing they dont compromise on basics for commercial purposes...but some fusions not all but the half learned ones compromise....and just beacause it sells well...

    • @arnabdasphysics
      @arnabdasphysics 4 года назад

      Pandit ji probably meant fusions between different genres of music, not just different Gharanas. Also, probably he meant there hasn't been any significant one in this country, that has been widely accepted.

    • @arnabbhattacharyaGG
      @arnabbhattacharyaGG 4 года назад +1

      @@arnabdasphysicsHi, your guess is as good as mine. But across many of these baithaks, Pandit ji's condescending dismissal of fusion music is very marked. The purists look down upon it. But Pt Ravi Shankar, Zakir bhai and many others have taken Indian music global through fusion. Of course, many others have butchered music in the name of fusion too. But, many pure classical practitioners have made music that is unbelievably bad. We should take the best from all.

But, today, when at times I practice, it is helpful because notations had been noted down. I belong to Farukabad Gharana. And I heard my Masterji say, "Tabla is a difficult instrument to play, just like violin".
