A deep dive for the Tree Keepers Oracle would be wonderful. The artwork by Stephanie Law is quite amazing. I'm definitively a fan. Furthermore trees are quite close to me ... Yet ... I'm hesitant to pick up the deck. Maybe Agni Sullins putting out so many decks ... raises suspicion? Maybe it's something else ... Maybe ... I don't trust the deck to not be fantastic-airy. Even though I do like the airy and shadowy aspects ... that would make the deck a good partner to Ian Miller's Grim Tarock. Anyway: If you could do a deep dive ... I would appreciate it a lot.
My kiddos seemed to like the slightly bigger or longer books at a young age because it was easier to hold open without the book wanting to flip shut. Dexterity at a young age isn’t always easy. If the smaller one was slightly longer that would be perfect for staying open to the page and give you the portrait shape you like. (Mine were “hold my own books, thankyouverymuch” kiddos)
The bigger size is more typical of children’s picture books. I think because kids picture books are mostly art and the big books leave a lot of room for the illustrations. You’ll see A5 more as you get into chapter books. I don’t think we have any picture books that are A5 size, though we may have a few that are in between, more like an 8.5” square.
My suggestion is that you should have Peggy make you a custom decided Peggy bag for you tree keeper oracle where the deck goes on one side and the book goes on the other side then I think your guidebook might not bow around the deck. Also I’d love a full video on that deck
Yes an in-depth walk through of Tree Keepers Oracle please! Shadowscapes Tarot was my first deck. The Tree Keeper Oracle is on my christmas list. I can't wait work with them together.
Hi Lisa! I’ve been a children’s librarian for 30 years. The larger size is more traditional for picture books made for preschool aged children (3-5). These books have large images with a few lines of text on each page. These are story books, which sounds like yours will be. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Lisa I am in complete agreement with the new Bohemian Gothic! It is the first edition that I own of it but as I was walking through it I literally kept thinking that I wasn’t aware the cold stamping was on the entire card and it slightly bothered me as well 😂. I was def not feeling wowed but instead feeling slightly disappointed with how it looked and how I couldn’t appreciate the details in the art🙈. I feel better knowing I am not the only one lol. Will def have to play with lights and maybe look through it again in less brightness. We’ll see 🤷🏻♀️
I couldn't believe when I saw "All Along You Were Blooming". Years ago I worked at a bookstore and got the advance reading copy. It was soft bound, so I chopped off the spine & turned it into a disc bound, adding blank pages to journal. It stays by my bed. Often I randomly turn to a page. It has really been a comfort to me on days that I struggle with depression. Hidden Realm is such a special deck to me that I have an unopened back-up copy. Witch Sister's artwork just doesn't resonate with where I am now - so I have passed for now.
Witch Sisters is at the top of my list of tarot decks to get when able. I really want to look at it beside Hidden Realm which is a solid favorite in my collection.
I agree with your oppinion on the cold foil stamping that Babba studio do. It is beautiful but i feel in the latest decks its overdone as it blocks the image unless you hold it a particular way. As a highlight its nice, but i dont like when they cover a complete piece of clothing etc. i actually purchased the 1st edition victorian romantic (no foiling) even though i have the latest victorian romantic because its so hard to appreciate the images that they have spent so much time on!
My Diviner Defintions Oracle also had some gunk on some of the cards (including my healing card too). Some of it I was able to gently rub off with a microfiber cloth but some of it did not.) I’m still looking forward to using it though and would love to hear your more in-depth thoughts about it!
The cold foil stamping on the Bohemian Gothic makes you pick the cards up and if you move it, it makes me feel like lightening is flashing on and off the cards. It makes them feel a bit more alive for me. But I can see why a lot of people don't prefer it. The 3rd Edition will be the deck I regret not buying though. I hope to get it some day.
My daughter will love your book I’m sure. I kind of prefer the smaller one because it looks closer in size to more of the books she has. Honestly either one will work well.
Hi Lisa! 💖 Question for a future Q&A. 🙏🏻 I just inherited my grandmother’s tarot deck, the 1972 Hoi Polloi. Normally I would sage a new deck, but I don’t want to remove her energy. I’m curious how you would approach this? How would you welcome/initiate a deck that you acquired from a loved one? Any advice is welcome! Thank you 🤍
So many nice decks you got! The Hidden Realm is one of my absolute favourites and it's a deck I can literally pull out anytime and as soon as I turn over the spread cards I know exactly what they want to tell me. I also got the Bohemian Gothic and I'm in love. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do! The cold stamping is really lovely and I find it lends a certain liveliness to the images. I also really like the Candle In The Cave. The only thing that keeps me from purchasing it is the fact that each figure has their eyes closed. A deep dive of all of these three decks would be most welcome and I'd also love another deep dive of the Witch Sister as soon as you've studied and used it thoroughly.
I’m so happy you like my Diviner Definitions Oracle! You are correct that the synonyms do not repeat any other word in the deck. Talk about a challenge in writing that book.
Indeed it is a challenge!!! You did a fabulous job! :) The tarot book I just finished had a heavy focus on words and I challenged myself the same way - and I'm doing the same for an oracle deck I'm working on (primary keyword, sub keywords per card.. none repeating.... lol) and it's definitely challenging in the most amazing way. Lexophiles unite!!! :D
Love these videos! For the children's book, I personally prefer the smaller one. If you have time, could you do a walkthrough for the Candle in the Tarot?
I agree with you on the new Bohemian, am still trying to see how I feel too. I def hate the box and wish it was a extra you can buy but not the box it comes with lol
❤NEW subscriber. When I saw the, "Diviner Definition Deck", I just thought, "I can soooo connect with this". I constantly write and love using different words to convey my intentions, feelings and thoughts. I would love to see how you would use them. I think I would use them for clarity in a reading...but I haven't done a reading in years...(Long Story). 😊
Love the Candle in the Cave Tarot! You did cover it in a Hot Takes video (I was one of the people who requested it). I seem to remember you not liking the font on the cards at the time, so you anti-hauled it lol. Glad Dustin and Dani changed your mind! It's so pretty
Was surprised to see my name on the sloth book 🤣 I got the Diviners Definitions Oracle too, loving it so much! Between the color gradients and words I am in heaven.
I am really curious about your experiences working with the tree keepers. I was super underwhelmed and found it so basic. I expected more. The deck is perfectly usable, good keywords, and stephanie’s art is divine. I just expected more depth from the book.
Okay, so I’m a librarian, specializing in children’s books. Tips for picture book publishing, if the goal is to actually use it with kids, the bigger the better baby. If it’s more of a cute extra for adults, smaller is better.
My diviner definitions have marks too, my decks never stay pristine for long (tiny hands handling problems 😂) so if anything I hope the creator gets some sort of make good out of the printing company.
Ahhhh! I was going to buy Candle in the Cave for myself on birthday Thursday if my husband didn’t get it for me and now it’s gone!! 😢 I should have made him tell me earlier but I didn’t until just now and he didn’t get that one.
Hi Lisa, Love this deck haul video. Would love to see a walk through of the "candle in the cave" deck. I have just receive my copy and its been put away for xmas day. Its looks so lovely and would love to see your thoughts on the deck. There is nothing out there like it that I have found. Take Care Terri from Australia 🦘🇦🇺 💜
Gosh, the Diviner Defintions Oracle cards work for me in a surprising way by enhancing the readings. The kinks on many of the cards also bother me. I'm hoping the deck creator will replace them.
Nooo that's so disappointing to see all the markings on your dictionary deck!! I usually like to keep my decks in as good of a condition for as long as possible, so I know if I'd received my deck like that it would be a huge bummer 😩 I admire that you're able to look past it! With that being said, as a word lover this deck really appeals to me!! 😂 and I even remember the mini word oracle one you showed off a long time ago that you picked up at a shop! I thought that one was super cool too.
With the Bohemian Gothic the cold foil stamping doesn't look right when it's on dark/black images. It's okay if it's on the brighter colors but not on the darkest parts of the images. This is my first time having it and I was also disappointed in the book and interpretations. Too confusing and negative. Like how were they able to make the 10 of cups/pentacles negative? Kind of a downer. I hope Candle in the Cave gets picked up for mass market!! There is no more in stock last I checked so this deck keeps showing up on peoples channel but no one can purchase it and no one knew about it.

That dictionary deck is pretty cool. Hopefully all that stuff can easily be wiped off.

The Diviner Definitions deck is VERY like the Spreadcrafter's, which I have and love

I had few cards on Diviner Definitions, that had printer production smudges, but havent gone through the entire deck as yet.

Yeah…the cold foil stamping was a bit too much. I thought I got a misprinted deck! 😅
The deck is still beautiful, just more challenging to use
Re: book size, I always appreciated the slightly larger size when reading books to my kids, easier to ‘share’ the pictues.
The Diviner Definitions deck looks pretty neat. Love the colours and shiny gilding!
I;m super intereste din seeing more of the Diviner Definitions Oracle from you!

Think about what the pictures might look like ( as manipulated for sizing) for the book project.

May I request for a dedicated video about the tabletop cloths that you have and others to order? 😢😊🤗

Wow where did you get that pretty fabric cloth
All my cloths and tarot bags are made by my wife, Peggy. You can find her etsy shop at sparxcreations.etsy.com

Off topic but where did Peggy find that beautiful fabric?
add a ribbon to your wooden box and you wont have to tip it.
