    Start Watson and Braun. Bring MPJ off the bench with Russ, run a 5 out with the Second unit and possibly push leads. Braun Watson and Gordon can be a solid defensive and athletic trio to play alongside Jokic and Murray. It might take a few games to get them acclimated to their new roles but defensively they can make a huge immediate impact. Russ has played with Durant and MPJ has a very similar game. They may end up having great chemistry.

      This is simply how the market goes. I’m not sure why we still have these conversations. A player that’s not purely elite will be among the highest paid when they sign a new contract. Then the market goes up again and they are out of the top 10. Murray didn’t even get the full max, let alone if he would’ve achieved any accolades. Again, this is simply how it goes.

    Of course they do. They’re literally 2nd best odds to win the west and 5th to win title (but would be favored head to head in the finals vs anyone besides MAYBE Celtics who they were 2-0 vs last yr).
    They’re essentially the 3rd best title odds to win. If they’re 100% healthy im taking them to beat anyone in 7 games.

  • @FrankM-u1w

    Better win it this year, there is basically no chance with 3 guys getting paid over $140 million next year. Even if Jokic is probably underpaid the other 2 of them are way overpaid and will have to push their bodies close to injury nightly to make them worth their deals.

  • @SDesWriter
    @SDesWriter Месяц назад +2

    The Wolves winning is a pipe dream. OKC is NOT the best in the West. Dallas beat both of them with an injured Lulka. Now they have Klay, Marshall and Grimes? Assuming no major injuries, Dallas is easily going to be the team to beat.
    I'm hoping Braun takes a step up because Russ could be a great spark off the bench. But if they have to lean on him as a main cog, I think they're screwed. MPJ is the key. He can be a 25ppg scorer, but he also showed he can disappear when it matters. It's going to depend on how he plays this year.

    • @fastage101
      @fastage101 Месяц назад +1

      Idk how people think the mavs getting klay is magically gonna get them a finals win! Klay has played like garbage and teams are gonna attack him on defense forcing the mavs to take him out! Buddy hield would have been a better option. The mavs will be 4-5 where they’ve been for a while. Kyrie is also starting to get older and isn’t gonna be able to move how he does forever

    • @SDesWriter
      @SDesWriter Месяц назад

      @@fastage101 3rd most 3pt shots made in the league at 39% is "garbage"? Maybe do some work on your math skills before you comment....
      The Mavs had a career 32% 3pt shooter at SF last year and Boston responded by covering Luka & Kyrie plus the Centers, then daring Washington and Jones to beat them from the outside (and they responded by shooting under 20% for the series). Then the bench players were equally bad. Klay has never shot worse than 39% and has never played with an actual PG who could get him open looks, and now you have two 38% 3pt shooters who play tough defense coming off the bench.
      In 5 games, Dallas lost by double digits twice, by 7 pts twice, and won by the 3rd largest marging in the history of NBA Finals. Now you've replaced 3 non-shooters with 3 guys shooting 38%-40%? And you don't see how it will help? Are you drunk? Did you forget Doncic is the 2nd leading playoff scorer in history, but was playing the entire playoffs on a sprained knee and played the Finals with a sternum bruise on top of it? And STILL averaged 29/10/6 against Boston?
      Yeah, I'm liking our chances.

    • @fastage101
      @fastage101 Месяц назад +1

      @@SDesWriter you don’t need shooting to win championships you need defense . Look at all the teams that have won lately. They have dominated on defense in the post season. You also need a guy who’s gonna contribute not only in shooting but rebounds and assist and klay doesn’t do that. Klay averages 2 assist per game and 3 rebounds that’s not good enough for your teams 3rd best player. Klay has been terrible in the post season the last 2 years. You just lost not 1 but 2 key pieces on defense. The reason why it worked in GS is because they had 3 guys who could defend whole curry and Klay shoot. Luca is far below average on defense and kyrie is good against guards but struggles against match ups. Denver’s starting 5 is beyond better than the mavs. Murray is below kyrie, AG is far better than PJ, MPJ has out played Klay and shoots the same percentage he rebounds way more, and Christian can play stellar defense especially on big bodied SG which Luka is, jokic is still the best player in the world. You need defense and offense and yall don’t have defense. Let alone Luka has health concerns and Klay is 34. Plays 3% is 2% higher than league average but his FG% is 3% lower than league average. And every player has injuries in the playoffs don’t give me the excuse that his ankle was beat up

    • @SDesWriter
      @SDesWriter Месяц назад

      @@fastage101 Dallas held Boston to 20ppg below their average. How much better does their defense need to be? They lost because they couldn't hit open sots. It allowed Boston to go on runs and it gave up easy fastbreak opportunities. Yes, Luka being healthy means another 5-10ppg, but that would barely be enough to make them competitive against Boston's defense (even better than the Mavs). They needed a 15-20ppg scorer and now they have him plus 2 bench players to bring in for defense and knock down open shots.
      Boston can get hotter from 3, but they can't play any better as a team. Brown is a 22ppg guy and Tatum tends to play below his average in the big games. KP is their only ace in the hole, if he manages to stay healthy for once. Then again, Lively won't be a rookie this time around and I think that contest will be closer as well.

      They got worse. Russ is far from prime Russ so he shouldn't play more than 15-20m a game during the regular season, and CB is not the screen navigator KCP was so guards will get downhill on Jokic a lot more and the defense will collapse and suffer against good 3 point teams. We also have no one who can shoot 3s outside of 3 starters, allegedly Strawther but he's got to do it for a couple seasons before I will rely on him to make them.
      Also we haven't seen Murray yet but he looked hobbled in the Olympics, like he didn't heal from the season. And you can bet he is furious most of the sports world said he isn't worth $50m a year, but historically Murray is injured if he pushes early in the season so that anger might backfire. With Russ around who has his own problems, I could see a big fight or something happening sending Murray to a suspension with Russ barking bad things in Murray's ear.

Murray is gonna be a beast because of Russ. Russ is also gonna provide energy we’ve never had on the second team. CB may not navigate screens as good as KCP but he’s good at it. CB also brings a presence towards the paint KCP didn’t bring, Braun also does better on bigger SG which a lot of teams have now. Peyton should be better and was a force on defense last year. Sheesh if you want a heavy defensive team 😂the huge length you go jokic,Murray, Peyton,AG, and MPJ that’s so much damn length to play against
