    Correction: 5:23
My translation shows that he says the Ocarina is from Colombia. NO. He says the Ocarina is pre-Colombian which is a time statement not a location statement. Pre Columbus (1492). You can see below a few comments from others and me about this as far back as 7 years ago.

Visit to an instrument maker in a remote village in Ecuador.

Great video! Just a small correction on your subtitles. He said ocarina is a pre-Colombian instrument, Not a Colombian instrument. Meaning from before Columbus's arrival. Nothing to do with Colombia the country.

Thank you so much for the correction. I wish I could go back and re-edit it into the clip but then I would lose my views on youtube. So I think I might add it as text message. But thanks for your attention to detail.

    whats the armadillo one called

I think that is the charango. Originally they made it from the shell of the armadillo. They still do because you can still buy them but they are more expensive than the wood charangos. Nothing is wasted. You eat the insides and the shell becomes a guitar body. Who knows what all the other parts are used for. I think the armadillo is pretty common- kind of like a skunk or racoon in a shell. I have another video ruclips.net/video/6c90ap6_FGg/видео.html where Sache plays one of his handmade wood charangos. You can see the back is curved like the armadillo.

So sad the translation in English is not accurate. Additionally, it should contain credits to the music artist and the place where this video was made. It is important to respect one basic principle of the Otavalo people, which is to respect the house of the owner who lets you get in. The ocarina is a pre-Columbian instrument which means it was used before Europeans
    came to Las Americas.

Maybe you can create a proper translation to replace the one made by the two 13 yr old exchange students from Mexico. Then the task will be to try to post the repairs. The pre-Colombian translation error was pointed out 6 years ago and all I could do was draw attention to the correction and as you can see is already in the previous comments and the video description. Thanks for watching.
