It's a well acted scene and all, but did the guy really need to say he was christian. Being Christian doesn't automatically make you a good person
No but it does help to have friends like that to keep you grounded...
No, he didn't; but they had been best friends for years, and his friend would have been well aware of it. Mentioning that he was a Christian was a reminder to his friend what his motivation was. And sad to say, you're right: being Christian doesn't automatically make you a good person. That comes from yielding one's self to the indwelling Holy Spirit so that Christ's nature is seen and not the Christian. Unfortunately, far too few Christians live their lives that way. And as you indicate, it shows.
