- Skiing at Aspen Mountain located right out of the city of Aspen. Aspen Mountain is home to steep fall line skiing with an impressive 3,300 vertical foot drop. The ski area has 9 lifts and close to 900 acres of skiable terrain. New this season is the Hero's High Speed Quad serving a new expert skiing glade area. The mountain is best suited for Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert skiers, there are no runs on this mountain. For easier groomed slopes look to ski Snowmass, or the Buttermilk Ski Area which offers a smaller ski area experience with 4 lifts and 470 acres of beginner and intermediate terrain.

It's amazing how many runs you get for one day of skiing. You must have legs of titanium.
Is Aspen your favorite mountain?
No, that being said its my Dads hes been skiing Aspen Mountain since 1984, its where I learned, its a special mountain. Now adays you just have to look a little deeper past the moviestars and the entitlement around there and the skiings actually pretty damn good.
