Kinda makes sense. The tritone is horrible and evil muahahaha… So it makes sense to bend both G and Db if a bit unequally so that way you mess with that interval without losing the characteristics of the tritone entirely. They’re separated by a factor of the square root of 2, so no wonder it’s harsh and irrational. Messing with such an EVIL interval makes it sound nicer, yet it’s still screaming! Long live rock and roll.
