      I saw a wonderful, "insider" account from Professor Sachs today. Of American machinations related to Russia since 1991. Disclosing in granular detail the deterioration of relations with Russia. No guesswork over what happened and when.

    The company I work for is based in Germany and is in the industrial sector. I'm genuinely concerned for my job. We make the tools to make cars and spacecrafts. So if Volkswagen is in trouble that probably means we are.

      Zero chance it survives. China sets global standards. If it's sanctioned you can neither sell tools nor buy goods from them. You can collect no royalties from them. You will only be able to sell within the heavily protectionist "golden billion" US vassals. For now. Eventually as with USSR the smaller trade bloc must collapse for failure to pay for competitive R&D. Well China's 7B bloc will beat the US / EU 1B, even by lousy GDP measures its bigger now. And look at the growth rates. 😂
      Regarding space the EU will not be able to compete even with India by 2030, especially as India lures the US tech company trained natives back. What is the future of space stations and moon bases? China and US only.

      A combustion car has 2000+ moving parts. An EV can have as few as 4 in the drive train not counting door hinges and windows and steering wheel and pedals.

    Could you do a session with Sarah Wilkinson. I have understood she has been put in house arrest in UK for reporting against the establishment narrative.
    The authoritarian behaviour in UK is getting out of hand and it’s even reported in Chinese newspapers.

      Interestingly, the Government of Germany utterly submitted to the US when the smartphone became ubiquitous and the politicians who came of age during the democratization of the Internet came to power. Acquiring kompromat is trivial when everyone has a smartphone and uses Gmail.

      It should not be any harder than getting rid of national currencies. In some ways, easier. After all, new countries that were created in the 20th century do not seem to have had any problem with replacing occupier currencies with new national currencies.

    The day after Russia sent troops into Ukraine in Feb 22, the Irish government installed Ukrainian flags the entire length of the road of which the Russian Embassy sits.
    For all their bluster around "recognising Palestine", there is not One single Palestinian flag on the road in which the (state that can't be named) embassy sits.
    The Irish government are told by the EU how to act and they abide because they know when the jobs are being dished out in the EU, those very same Pro Ukraine, anti Russia "politicians" can rely on the EU to further their greedy careers!

    Jeffery Sachs is brilliant. This just shows that not all US Americans at the top levels of government, geopolitics, and academia are ignorant fools about the real world. It sure seems so at times, though.
    Sachs gives me some hope. But it is a tragic sign of the times that the media and general conversations denigrate or ignore such a brilliant and good man.

    When last in Mumbai, I noticed the overwhelming presence of US business people & NGO flunkies. It's been on the go since the 1990's, so they are now embedded in Indian culture. Modi has supported their policies for a long time, so it will be difficult to get them out now.

    I appreciate Jeffery Sachs' first rate analysis of world events. But I remember his anti Trump vitriol in the past and his support for Biden. It's easy to be dogmatic. None of us gets it right all the time. .

    Prof. Sach's story about the Irish politician is very similar to here in America. A large number of our politicians are just as deeply brainwashed and ignorant on foreign policy and geopolitics as the citizens are! It's horrible and pathetic.
