The first dancer is outstanding.
She's now dancing with The Royal Ballet :)
@@mandapanda1804 Her control is so amazing as well! This was a very difficult choreography and she nailed it!
@Tinita Bondi I do agree that she was a bit stiff, but I wouldn't call her wooden. And I think that she was quite well timed. Also, she was in the finals of one of the worlds biggest dancing competition, so I'm pretty sure that anyone would stiffen up in that situation. I do agree that she should have added a bit more emotion, but I do think that you are being a tad picky. Even by ballet standards lol. Not hating lol, just giving my opinion.
ya see she actually has turnout unlike me
The second girl was so good at playing her part! She's literally Princess Aurora
I was just about to say "That Aurora!!!" Just wonderful !!
♡♡
I was just gonna say that! I think she’s really a princess
Vincenzo did so well at expressing his character which is something you rarely see on a competition as the dancers are often too focused on technique so I thought that was brilliant.
Yes! I remember watching this live and he was stunning! 💖
Yu hang's variation was so beautiful! Her positions were perfect
It looks little bit emotionless but her variation perfectly showed she has great technique and I was so impressed
To be honest, in this variation it’s difficult to be emotional. The role is just a shade or a ghost and there isn’t any argument with this role. But yuhang is lack of expression indeed and good at technique, so this variation is a good choice for her.
Don't pick a bone out of an egg, she is outstanding, or judge wouldn't give her the first prize.

She shouldn’t have smiled. You have to take into account the context of the ballet.
Tinita Bondi Never have I ever seen someone trying to insult a dancer by pointing out the fact that they got into the FREAKING ROYAL BALLET... Wtf dude
Hang Yu: Exquisite control, impeccably one with the music, the best of the three, IMHO
Madison Young: Ethereal beauty, captured Aurora perfectly, sweet and graceful portrayal
Vicenzo: Explosive, powerful, pure dynamite
OMG! That last young man made my heart sing! Absolutely gorgeous. Madison Young is also so amazing at playing the character.
Madison is brilliant!! Her technique is flawless, but her expression and effortless upper body are far, far beyond her years!! Such fluid arm movement right down to her fingertips. Beautiful!
The ballet world's future looks very promising. Such wonderful new talent coming up every year!
Hang Yu is incredible. She's better than ballerinas I see in the top companies.
She could stay en pointe for an hour w/o flinching
Why tf is no one talking about the dude? He was amazing
Shawn?
@@michaeljacksheeheen YESSSSSSSSS 🇨🇦
I actually thought he was more inspiring than the girls.
In my opinion the 3rd prize winner SHOULD have been awarded the 1st prize. The 2 girls danced well, but that 16 year old literally had it ALL there. You GO son. Bravo well done.
IKR!!??
Madison Young was absolutely gorgeous! I especially loved the subtle expressions she displayed - very regal and princess-like.
Three stunning performances and performers. Many professionals would envy their execution of these technically difficult variations. I wish all three winners a long and happy career in dance.
Oh boy, that young lad won me ! Bravo!
I would hate judging this competition because I would give all of them flawless scores! All three were incredibly talented!
the first girl´s eyelashes are seriously longer than my attention span will ever be
omg yes
Is that all your attention on? Why watch? Go take a walk!
They’re false I believe
but so is my will to live so it’s all good
They’re fake dude
RC they never said they were real 😂
Yu Hang 💛💛💛
She stole the show along with Primo.
Somebody “stoled” my burrito. 🤣
The Library Is Now Open ummm Buy another burrito then ..? Idk.
The young man had such style and aplomb exclamation
He had some trouble staying centered in his á la secondes just sayin'
Scarlet Gill Those weren't fouettes; they were a la seconde turns. Guys don't often do fouettes.
The first girl preformed very well !!!!!!!
These dancer's have a really bright future! Stay focused!
The first dancer is the best!!
😍🤩
Quite frankly, I loved the Aurora so much I never once thought of my favorite ballerina Margot FONTEYN!
A most deserving winner.
La prima ballerina esprime il piacere della danza e riconduce con grazia i passi alla melodia
La seconda esprime una levità fatta tensione elanista e motile
Il terzo ballerino comunica un efficace senso di occupazione totale dello spazio proscenico. TUTTI MOLTO CAPACI.BIGHIN GIULIO RENZO
I have to say the first and last dancers executed it beautifully. The precision and sharpness are just up to professional standard. The second dancer is pretty, but she is quite tall which I find less suitable to fully embody this role (the long limbs lend her difficulties to refine movements). She does have good stage presence. But can obviously see her execution to be lacking compared to other two.
Even though I am not a fan of the costume as it doesnt smoothe her at all, I think this is the most beautiful Aurora I have ever seen.
aww😄..Aurora is one of my Absolument Favorites! Miss Young was practically perfect until the small issue of port des bras @ 3:18. 👏 bravo. would have loved to dance the first two✌💞
I'm really curious because I think she should have had first place -- to me the first young lady had great technicality but no emotion so i found her a bit boring to watch. What was wrong with her arms? Sincerely, I Don't Really Dance
Scarlet Gill
marszenka there's a turn she got off her pointe shoe not in balance. But truly to me it's her ending. In ballet variation, you have to finish in balance (or stability) through the music no matter what. You saw her feet were back and forth in the last pose? That's too clear to ignore and justify. I think that's where she really got her points off.
I thoroughly despise the Aurora variation, but the dancer in question was just a beautiful dancer!
Daang what must it feel like to be 1st 2nd or even 3rd at the Prix de Lausanne... even being a semi finalist..
I don't like Aurora's variation, but Madison was beautiful, so flawless. She has a bright future! ❤️
Hang Yu was the best female competitor in the 2016 Prix de Lausanne.
The first ones accuracy and control is so amazing
다들 너무 잘해서 넋 놓고 봤다...
Those people's body posture is perfect... I am jealous as hell
With Madison Young i forgot the dance..i just watched her face..she is so sweet. :o)
To be honest, me too.
The third one was amazing
Wow, so beautiful.
The second girl is outstanding
the most beatutiful ever!!!!!!
I danced the second variation for my Gala performance last year! I’m 15 btw, 14 at the time. It wasn’t near as good as Madison though 🤯🤩
Ali Bube That’s amazing! You’re still young and to be able to dance that role shows a lot of strength and control.🤗🇨🇦
That Shade variation was such an unusual choice---the music sounds like a clock running down and in all the times I've seen it performed that's usually what the dancing look like. Ya Hang just made it sparkle. But yeah, Madison Young was a wonderful and perfect Aurora. I don't know how I would have chosen between them. (Plus Vincenzo di Primo Italy is so *complete* a dancer---technique plus style, looks to be the next Roberto Bolle.) Anyone know if these dancers have made into some big company somewhere---as principals?
Madison young went o Houston ballet for apprenticeship, Vincenzo di Primo went to Royal ballet as an apprentice, and both are part of the prize of winning the Prix. Both I foresee will join the Corps once their apprenticeship ends.
Yu Hang went on to win YAGP2016 senior women placing 1st, I think it's quite rare to win both the Prix and YAGP in the same year. She's now continuing her training at Royal Ballet School on the Prix's scholarship, but she was also awarded an international scholarship by Royal Ballet this year as well so I thinks she's doing another year at Royal Ballet School. Not sure which company she will join once she finished her training.
I think they are doing quite well.

Incredible dancers
大好き💓💞
The last guy was amazing, but I feel like his dance didn’t have enough story in it!!!!
LaylaJo it doesn’t have to have a story to be good
Техника высший пилотаж!
The guy was the best
Vai Vincenzo! Orgoglio italiano

Que coisa mais linda!
Love Aurora😍
The boy is awesome
Very clean!!!
Well Hang Yu is had the perfect body of course, and perfect technique, but her variation wasn't dreamy at all! All the sharp angles and movements, I didn't like that at all. But that's of course the decision of her tutor rather than herself.
My, such a doomed pronouncement for a girl in her teens after a few days of seeing her in a competition. Your experience of a "stage mommed" teen prodigy-type cannot translate to a young dancer that you, to our knowledge, have never met, nor spent years personally observing. You dislike her dancing, that is your prerogative, but your dislike does not translate to death of her career.
Lighten up...
watch hang yu's contemporary performance and then talk about her not having artistry and stage presence
Anon Y. Mous Maybe in many judges' eyes, it's easier to build up more artistry on technical perfection, than to bring the technical skills to perfection on a relatively more mature artistry. Artistry can come with age and also depends on the type of roles that you are performing. So there're more subjective factors in. However, the techniques apply in whatever piece you play. It is clear to everybody, including the theater goers, if the dancer is in balance or not with the turn/jump landings or the ending pose. Those judges are all very experienced. If you feel there is a weigh more towards one than the other. I'm sure there's a reason. Nonetheless, Madison is awesome. The second place also says a lot of her successful very mature artistry, doesn't it?
If you've seen Hang Yu's contemporary dance, then you wouldn't have said this. It was probably just how her instructor thought was best for her. Hang Yu can express a lot of expression and artistry. just sayin'. Don't have to agree with me.
@Bonny D. Just too sad and pathetic. Your amateur comment coming from "drum coach" is just full of prejudice based of race. That's why you could only sit behind the computer and imagine that you would hire Madison over Yu Hang. If you think the more experienced judges are unfair, you should become one yourself. Too bad, you are just a racist amateur drawing very subjective opinions about a teenage girl would never have artistry based on this one clip.

リアルオーロラ姫やんって思った
舞台上では綺麗ですが、素顔めちゃくちゃ可愛かったです…美の暴力
watched this for too many times, I noticed that young made a small mistake during the second last turn, I think she lost 1st just because of the technique, her upper body is absolutely amazing . Different people judge from different part. So both of them are very good! Although I prefer YOUNG :)
The first dancer is amazing of course, but you actually shouldn’t smile when doing the shade variations! You have to think about the context of the ballet.
Di Primo, the next Vasiliev????
whats the first variation is called
It's the 3rd shade variation from La Bayadère :)
@@white.swan. thank u!
В Авроре очень не хватает академизма в руках. По диагонали такие волны кистями как в арабском танце.
У любого постановщика своя интерпретация
@@АндрейХимей где Аврора, а где арабы... И интерпретация это одно, а слабая техника - это другое.

Péssimo...
The Chinese girl is too outstanding and extraordinary that makes the second girl looks horrible. Plus the choreography of the second girl is so easy and requires no skills
Lei Pei I beg your pardon? “The second girl looks horrible and required no skills? “If you think “ Aurora variation” can be performed without technique / skills, then you are a looser spewing venom to make yourself feel better!
@@VeganOnPointe Don't have to go all that harsh...!
Owl Sailing virus spotted.
The Library Is Now Open that’s rude.
the second girl is too large for the ballet. 3d and the 1s is ok.
Eva Dugina Now she's at Vienna state opera directed by Manuel legris😘
ya shouldn't be judging a ballet dancer by their size. Everyone is different. Like if you were her and you had amazing artistry and technique and all the companies said 'you are just too large,' how would you feel??!! same goes with your home country, your skin color, and so and so fourth.
Dum 😡😠😠😠😠😡😠😡💣💥
