Nagler
Pros - Always meeting people, biggest rooms, cheapest, biggest closets, good windows
Cons - Communal bathrooms, Microwaves on every other floor, Only one kitchen on the first floor
Alumni
Pros - Kitchen & bathroom, more elevators and faster
Cons - Evacuates a lot because of personal bathrooms, smaller rooms, Windows dont open all the way
Co-ed
Pros - Renovated communal bathrooms, good workroom
Cons - most things are in the basement, smallest rooms, most expensive.
That's so bizarre, why is the co-ed the most expensive when it's the least appealing (communal bathrooms and one kitchen, smallest rooms)?
since you guys don’t have kitchen can u talk about the dinning plans and how the selection of the halls and rooms happen??
There are three types of plans up for selection, prices and details of which are available only on FIT’s ‘costs’ webpage. Hope this helps!
I lived in Coed (Room 517) for 1 year and Alumni (Apartment 6H) from 1998-2002. Me and my roommates were the only apartment of dudes on our floor all four years. It was heaven on earth.
something about theses dorms idk if its the lighting just feels like home idk how to explain it but the way they look is just so familiar and makes you feel like home .
I was thinking the same thing!
This is so frickin helpful
FIT is my dream college
I really want to go to fit
I’m currently applying to FIT for next school year! These videos always get me hyped
omg me too
did u get in
@@1017syah yess
@@sophia6275 i want to go so bad
@@sophia6275omg what are you majoring? im applying for next year
FIT is my dream school rn and I'm applying in the fall. I have no older siblings and don't know what to expect from a dorm so ty this is very helpful
i applied and i’m so excited i really hope i get in, this helped so much thank you!!!
So helpful since corona canceled tours😭
Thank you so much, I have been looking all over for a video of all three! You guys are angels
This is a great video! Do the apartment/ suite style dooms in Coed have their own bathrooms, or is that just alumni. The website is kind of confusing, so what style dorms have their own bathrooms and kitchens?
Kyla Carter Hi! So both Coed and Alumni apartments have their own bathroom and kitchen! In the video if you go to the last dorm we show, that's Coed and you can see what the bathroom would look like! The only thing is that Coed apartments are pretty limited and pretty much all double, and Alumni are only quads. Hope this helps!
@@ellyrosario18 Okay, thanks so much!
I really wanna go to fit!! I went to their open house last October and it was so nice!! 💗
What did u decide to do?
watching this like im not still in school lmao
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! this was so helpful 👍👍
omg, thnx so helpful!! I wish will get in 🤞🏻
THANL YOU bc they have barely anything on their website either and when they showed us the dorms for accepted students day they only let us see a single in nagler
Wow nagler dorms really are the biggest
I love this thank you soooo much
Where are the fairy lights in your dorm from?? They’re so cute ✨
Thank you! We bought them from Target!
this was so helpful thank you so very much
i would love to make this video for you, are there any questions specifically you have that you would want talked about in the video?
@@ellyrosario18 Awesome!!!! i would like to know how the dorm situation is now and how your online classes have been, and also the pros and cons of going during covid.
Lmao the beginning ahah
This video is soooo great! Thank u sooo much
LUV Coed apartments style and nagler
Tysm this is so helpful!!
Hi! is there anyway u remember what floor or room number the coed hall apartment was?
can you bring mini fridges into your dorm room?
“Starting off the nggahhh”😂
This was perfect thank you sm
Heyy!! Like I went to the fit website and there was a Hall called "Kaufman" Can you make a video for that! And thanks for the tour!
This video was very helpful thankyou so much!😇😇
Also, can you please lemme know that are we allowed to stay with some member from our family in our dorm room? And do we have to pay for the addition in the alumni dorms for the kitchen and bathroom ?
Question, do you pick your dorm and room style or is it randomly assigned? Cuz my own kitchen and bathroom is really important to me yk?
Thank you this was rly helpful
this was a great video! did covid change anything? asking for an incoming (hopefully) freshman
hi! yeah covid did change a lot of stuff, all classes are remote right now, we don't know whats going to happen in the fall though...wishing you the best of luck on getting in!
@@ellyrosario18 Thank You!!
Did you get in? 😀
Was it a lot of work to move all your stuff?
Hi! Yes and no. We both had a lot of stuff, but Elly and I arrived at the same time and our parents helped us both move in. RA's were also out helping students move into dorms!
Can you name from cheaper to expensive? The each style dorms
Hi! We believe Nagler traditional is the cheapest and Coed apartments are the most expensive, but we are also not 100% sure. I have attached the FIT website for reference on Housing Rates just to give you an idea! www.fitnyc.edu/residential-life/costs.php
@@ellyrosario18 thank you so much!
It’s so helpful!! In your personal opinion, which hall do you think has the best condition? Including the room and all the amenities!
this is just my opinion, but I think for apartment style, coed apartment is the best as far as space and amenities, but for traditional style I would probably say nagler just because of how spacious the rooms are and the huge wardrobes and that you don’t have to share that closet space
Wait can you have visitors?
when covid wasn’t a thing yes, you just had to sign them in and for overnight guests you were only allowed one but now with covid i don’t think any visitors are allowed
Is the first room (Nagler), the double traditional style?
yess!
are the rules annoying for like visitors, nightly roaming lol or like wanting lil sleepovers is that a thing
for day visitors you have to sign them in at the security desk in the building but if you want an overnight visitor you can only have one and you have to register them at least the day before
are u able to go in the communal areas 24/7? like if i want to take a shower at 1am, can I? haha
haha yes, the workrooms in the dorms and the communal areas like the bathrooms and kitchen are open 24/7
Do u always have dorm mates
Kezia Boateng Addo Yeah pretty much, they mostly have doubles and alumni is all quad apartments. There are single spaces but they're very rare, and often only used for people who need it for medical reasons.
ive applied to FIT. im torn between alumni and coed halls XD the air hockey and pool tables are the best parts XD
haha congrats, I hope you get in! but if you're torn because of the workrooms, you can go to any workroom no matter what dorm you're in!
I go to HSFI literally next to FIT and I pass there all the time hoping that I get in
I really want to go there!!
We’re are you today? Did you graduate?
this was so helpful
nice dorm
Hi I am going to FIT in the fall and I am going to live in nagler hall do you know which one is bed 1 and bed 2? Love this video super helpful!
Hi! I’m sorry I don’t remember which bed is which, we just talked about which bed we would want beforehand like who wanted to the window one
Which dorm includes a bathroom and kitchen
That would be apartment style in Co-ed and Alumni dorms
Do you know if they still allow roommates because of covid ?
i’m honestly not sure, i don’t think so but i would call and ask to make sure
Hi I am attending FIT in the fall and I am going to live in Nagler I was just wondering which one is bed 1 and bed 2? this video was super helpful!
Hi, congratulations! but i’m not sure what you’re referring to with that question, can you elaborate?
@@ellyrosario18 hi thanks! & on my housing this year it tells us which bed we are assigned and it says I’m assigned bed 1?
@@natalierodriguez8373 hey so sorry for the late response, I think thats something new they did this year, maybe because of covid, so i’m unfamiliar with which bed is which, i’m sorry :(
AAAAAH make more videos!!!
Love yalls content but its funny cuz at 4:24 time on the vid a girl is wearing an astroworld hoodie.
7:43 is this room coed double traditional room?? it doesn’t say they have an apartment style coed on the fit website 🤔
Hi! No its not the double traditional, that style was shown right before the one at 7:43, the one you’re talking about is the coed double apartment/suite. I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be showing on the website but here www.fitnyc.edu/residential-life/residence-halls/coed.php it talks about how the top floors are the suite style
@@ellyrosario18 Thank you so much! This video was very helpful
Question are you able to bring refrigerators or microwaves in nagler?
Hi! Unfortunately no you can’t bring refrigerators or microwaves but there are fridges on every floor and microwaves on every other floor!
How many people leave together in alumni?!
Alumni is only quad apartment style dorms, so 4 people. Unless you live with an RA then its 3 :))
how much is a room in each??
how loud are the fire alarms?
Do they allow air fryers? And if i can sneak it in will i get caught easily
i don’t believe they allow air fryers because they don’t allow microwaves and its really at your own risk if you decide to bring it since there are room checks
Thank you for the video❤️ do you know how much is the dorm fee per month?
Hi! There is no dorm fee per month, it's just going to be the price of the dorm per semester. There is a non-refundable $500 deposit when you submit your housing application and it goes towards your total housing charges. I will attach the FIT website for references on Housing Rates to give you a better idea! www.fitnyc.edu/residential-life/costs.php
Elly and Chloe thank you so much for the answer! Does financial aid help with reducing the price?
@@Barbez1231 Yes it does!
Can you have mini fridges in your room?
technically no, they do room checks but they can't check your closet, so do what you will with that information
is Kaufman hall not available anymore?
Hi! Kaufman Hall are upperclassmen dorms. We only covered the freshmen dorms (Co-ed, Nagler, and Alumni) for any upcoming freshmen!
hi is it possible to get any single rooms? i want to try dorming but im not rly into rooming w another person ☹️
its possible but extremely rare, normally you have to have special circumstances of some sort that would make it beneficial or necessary for you to be alone
how much is the rent for each room?
Hi! I will attach the link to the FIT website for references on Housing Rates to give you an idea how much each room will cost! www.fitnyc.edu/residential-life/costs.php
How much are the Coed apartments? They don't say on the website.
I believe about 5,000-6,000 per semester, i don’t know the exact number but here’s a link to the website where it has the prices www.fitnyc.edu/residential-life/costs.php
hi !! is there a dorm with only a bathroom and no kitchen ?
Hi! We don't think so. The dorms are either traditional or apartment style. Apartment style dorms have both bathroom and kitchen and if it's not apartment style then the traditional style dorms have communal bathrooms and no kitchen area!
Does fit allow microwaves in traditional rooms?
unfortunately they do not allow microwaves in traditional style rooms, however in nagler there is one on every other floor, and in coed they have a kitchen in the basement
LUV UR DORM
which dorm doesn't have the communal bathroom???
Alumni doesn't have any communal bathrooms
thank u!! also what is coed?
Coed is one of the dorms!
How do you manage without AC in Nagler? Is it manageable?
its manageable for sure, it was really only super hot the first week we were there but because of covid we didn’t really see how it was in the spring but we had lots of fans which made it pretty manageable for august and early september
@@ellyrosario18 did you buy table fans? How many for your room? And are they easily available at decent prices?
@@twirlingranas4622 we had the like tower fans and a rotating standing fan, i think in total we had about two or three and we already had them but i think they’re like $40
Guys I applied. I spent $50 but Does anyone know if they accept financial aid from Florida
Yes, they do financial aid as long as you fill out the FAFSA form on time
Can you guys make another FIT video again soon
i promise we’re working on it!
how much per year is fit?? my dream is study there but im Brazilian so I think is more difficult idk
fit is one of my dream schools too! i am not sure, but i believe that the tuition is about $15,000, but the total cost of attendance (including dorms and stuff) is about $45,000
@@catherinekitchens7454 that’s too much;(
hi so you can find all of the tuition information on the FIT website but for out of state in the associates program with dorming its about 32,000 for one year
@@ellyrosario18 oww ok thank you
Hey! What is the fee structure per year of these dorms?
Hi! i’m not sure off the top of my head but you can definitely find it on FIT’s website
@@ellyrosario18 alright! Thanks
Update
ok someone help me convince my dad there's money in fashion cause I need to go here
i totally recommend going to the open houses or info session with him! thats what helped with my parents!
hey applied for the fall semester 2020 and I wanted to know when will the school tell me if I got accepted or waitlisted or rejected?
So when we both applied, we got our letters on April 1st and most people we know got them by April, you might want to call them and ask but it may be delayed because FIT doesn't have any finalized plans for how fall semester is going to be
@@ellyrosario18 I called them and the voice mail said that its all by email ,so I have to wait until they email me?
@@medusa8087 Yes, you can wait for them to email you. If you want, you can always email Admissions because they usually answer questions regarding acceptance letters!
yazmin Perez if you applied on time, it should be in your email, check your spam also!
@@elijah6377 thanks but ive been rejected because there taking less people now because of covid.
Do you think I should apply again for next year?
