Maybe surgeon, surgical techs, nurses, etc. used to wear leather gloves, before introducing sterile rubber-latex gloves. Leather gloves allow an excellent grip.
IMHO nowadays, the best tradeoff between elegancy and protection is black nitrile! I adore it! ❤
