I think those teams assumed there was a person opening the doors manually standing inside the trap base. When you ran out and grabbed a gun, they thought the trap was disarmed without someone to activate it. They underestimated the trap as a crappy manual one.
I used to watch these rust trap videos before playing rust and thought they were pretty funny, but after playing rust these videos are so damn hilarious. I can’t stop laughing about just how easy this is!

PRO-TIP: Once you move trap bases because of too much heat it isn't a bad idea to surround the original one with landmines, spikes and bear traps for entertainment purposes.

I have the pressure plate connected to the door controller and it isn’t working? Does it need power? I thought the pressure plate made enough of a pulse to power the door controller. Does the door need to be unlocked?
instead of hiding the traps behind a door, you could "accidentally" add a wall built in the wrong direction, making it weak on the outside. You could also weaken said wall to make a raid seem more enticing
