    Katrina here, Thank you 😢 for inspiring me to get out again after my husband and father passed away within the last 22 months.
    Im watching this episode from my 12ft back door Jayco star craft 2020 .
    Even though I'm on a house sit with my inheritance, 😂 my fathers 12yr old dog .
    Only 20km from home and hooked up to power lol...😅
    Relaxing away from the house , mundane.
    Next inspired to free camp .

    Great clip mate, thoroughly enjoyed it. Re the online booking, I’ve no issue with it as it tends to keep some of the ferals out that wreck nice sites and yes some people may change their mind last minute, especially if it ends up raining. However don’t believe all the sites are always booked either, not having a rant here but often the sites are “all booked out” as a way of National Parks and government authorities to control just how many people are actually getting in and using National Parks. It’s part of a larger plan to lock more and more of us out of these pristine stunning locations for a number of reasons. And it really gets my blood boiling BIGTIME 😡😡
    Keep up the great work anyway mate, new subscriber from Sydney 👍

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  2 месяца назад +2

      I don't recommend my awning to most people as it's one of the best awnings on the market and Australian made. Meaning it's also one of the most expensive. Most people don't need to spend this much on an awning. But if quality & buying an Australian owned & made awning is important to you & your going to use it enough to justify the investment then go for it. Google camp king industries. They also make the rooftop tent I'm using. Top quality gear 👌👍 yeah I actually have a ladder on the side as well that I normally keep in the canopy. I can access the rooftop tent from all 3 sides

    what a damp mossy place SW WA is in Winter. the positive is you have place to yourself. you’ve demonstrated use of a “dirty” outside kitchen to come up with tasty high protein meals. the nice part was sitting in front of a wood fire. i was put off by your wearing the heavy rain gear & boots in damp muddy conditions. oh for a fully enclosed lounge to relax in. also bending down or squatting when cooking over wood fire. you can cope with that at your younger age. if older with chronic back weakness like myself, can have consequences.
    still better than backpacking to a campsite where you must plan carefully in advance to limit pack weight.
    you have all the mod cons of home, while listening to the sounds of the bush. you are guaranteed a dry comfortable bed, a cabin to sit or lay in, minimal packing up & know the trip back home won’t be physically demanding.

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  2 месяца назад +5

      It rains nearly every weekend at this time of year here lol. You don't need a flash rooftop tent. I used to do it in tents, swags & cheap gazebos. You make the most of what you have. Everyone here knows it rains most days here so they are aware it will most likely be raining when they make the booking. I believe they should have an option to cancel their booking getting a refund & opening the site up for others who are willing to brave the rain to book the site's

    • @nathanbates1260
      @nathanbates1260 2 месяца назад

      Even when it's not raining loads of sites are booked out but so many don't turn up, for whatever reasons..plans ect change I get it. But you can cancel bookings these days and get 70 percent refund or something. I've done it myself a few times. Then others can get out there and enjoy the outdoors.
