MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope you guys had an awesome Christmas spent with your families. This year hasn't been great for everyone but I hope today's stealth camping mission will make you laugh and smile as we head into the New Year. I'm always looking for feedback and ideas on the video's so please if you have any suggestions on how to improve them or what videos you want to see my create then throw them my way! Happy Christmas and thanks for watching! :)
Merry Christmas Will and all the best for 2021. Do you have any New Year resolutions - perhaps a video response would be nice. Take care and stay safe. 😊
Watched a video of a guy off grid in the Alaskan wilderness living off the land....followed by Will in an Asda carpark next to a dual carriageway....living the dream
Just subscribed over a week ago.... loving your work. We all need cheering up and watching this certainly did it for me. After eating that food I hope those Christmas trees you put up were the air freshener type🤣
Really laughed out loud when you described the rice 😂😂. Enjoyed the video but thats crazy to stay for the night. Anyway Merry Christmas. Cheers mat☺️☺️
I enjoy some stealth camping, spent a year living in a 3 door car around Heathrow airport area and never got any hassle. Plenty of good spots on public roads with good nearby facilities.
Yuletide Greetings Will 🎄. ‘Stealth’ camping in Asda car park? Filming your arrival, flying your drone, circling the car park, using their loos, filming the outside of your van ... 😂🤣😆... lol, you’ve got nerve 👌🤩. Thanks for bringing some cheer to my Sunday Will, with Will’s Whereabouts Wackiness 😁... priceless 🥳
I was seriously reminiscing with this video - I did my Masters degree just down the road, at what is now Roehampton University. I used to shop at that Asda! So many student memories. I nearly ended up sleeping in that very car park, but under very different circumstances and after a 11pm run to get more wine for a house party! It was 15 years ago, but it still looks the same! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you! Here's to some exciting adventures in 2021.
Hey Will, I'm caught up with your back vids, and loving this new content. You're absolutely not alone with enjoying #stealthcamping #carcamping #adventures etc. I've done stealthcamping in my past cars - an old Citroen Picasso (where the rear seats are designed to quickly clip out) and a Saab 95 Estate (with a lush beige leather interior, which when the seats are folded down made for a perfectly flat space - just not the headroom like the Citroen). Your acquiring the Ford Galaxy looks an absolute gem - I'm so impressed with the bed space with storage and the side kneeling space. And so - now you've got me looking at cheap Ford Galaxy's! So much potential for it e.g. with that open-up boot, I wonder if you could velcro a full-length curtain all around it have an extended gazebo-style area - maybe just enough for well-vented cooking, or washing space (not this time of the year of course!). RUclipsr Steve Wallis in the US does like urban stealth camping (not inside a vehicle) - such a great concept and could be fun for UK summers. The 'urban adventurist' is such a great theme, and I love your London-based content. In the past when I worked in London, and marriage relations were in a rough patch, I had fleeting thoughts of how possible it would be to office-work during the day, shower and eat there, and then stealth-camp each night, rotating my vehicle around the best spots each night - how much I could save over a year by putting the bulk of my wage into savings and living minimalist. Thankfully it never came to that, but the experience, adventure, and of course the cash savings, would have been awesome. Keep up the great content!
Absolutely brilliant content Will :-). I have spent one night in the back of my galaxy on a z bed but unfortunately I did not sleep a wink, I managed to forget my pillows, I am now in the new year knocking up a bed of sorts for the galaxy and will be getting out for weekends as soon as possible. Massive respect for you fella. Thank you Will.
Got a challenge for you Will... Well while your stuck here for now... Asda, Tescos, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Aldi and Lidl all of them!!! The supermarket sweep challenge! Keep the videos coming mate... Stonking! 👌👍😎
Stayed at Lyme Regis (Jurassic Coast) a few times in my Nissan Xtrail. Parked for £1.60 overnight, and had a sea view. A game changer for me, after the 1st time was buying wind deflectors that go around the top of the windows. That way you can can crack the windows open a tiny bit for fresh air, but keep the rain out.
We enjoyed that Will. I think its great to be constantly pushing the boundaries of places to stay 😁👍. Bit too much water in that rice as you found out. Add just a bit and a bit more as and when needed. Tinned food is so easy to use and tastes fine if you add a bit of salt and pepper which they have to take out to satisfy the health police. Keep them coming 😁👍
I'm a long distance Europe lorry driver and can recommend 'Quies Natural Wax Earplugs' pull fluff off, warm in hand, roll into a cone and push deep into ear canal, you won't hear anything. They say use once, ha i use them for 2 weeks at least.
Raining is one thing, hail stones are another! But you do get used to it 🤙 Can't wait for the Austria vlog, beautiful place! I go to Andorra instead now as it's cheap as chips and stunning! Stay safe mate, loving these 🙏
The one thing i like about our camper van is we can just pack up and go no need for hotels and having to worry about booking a room or been told that there are no rooms available the last time i was away was goth weekend in Whitby
Ear plugs! I am a hammock camper and often the noise keeps me awake when I camp. I just use cheap in ear plugs. They do not cancel all the noise but bring it down several notches which helps me adjust to slumber quicker. I also noticed all the condensation inside. My friends use a small dehumidifier, you might try one, they are pretty inexpensive. In cold parts, ice build up on the inside of the windows is a pain and a dead give away to the stealth camper! Cheers!
Yep, I agree with the ear plugs suggestion... makes a real difference. Good suggestion about using a dehumidifier... nothing says 'someone sleeping in here' more than fogged up windows.
I love this, im in west london and me and my 7yr old daughter want to come stealth camping with you. Give us all a location and we will come and join you on the next one.
I do a lot of work for a for a number of supermarkets (Asda included). I have had a few overnight (and sometimes daytime when I'm on nights) stays in their car parks. As I work in the store I have access to their showers too. As long as there is no "Parking Eye" cameras you'll be fine!!!
Just found your channel and it’s awesome. Me and the wife (both healthcare workers) have been into van escapism for a few years now and your videos remind me so much of when we started with our little Vito van. There is a good book called the camper van cookbook which is all recipes for one pot cooking in campers. Some lovely recipes in that, very tasty. Also you can play the yellow tag game if you stay in or near a supermarket. Towards the end of the day they reduce some food by loads as they would just be chucking it out anyway. They stick yellow tags on it with the new price on and usually put it all in one place. The game me and my other half play is to make an edible meal using the yellow tag foods only. We take it in turns and decide who cooked the best food in the van!
Hi Matt, I'll have to look into getting that book as would make my meals a bit more expansive. Hah the yellow tags game sounds like fun, I'm sure theres some very weird and experimental meals that come out of that!
I have only just discovered your channel and I enjoy your videos. Really hope your saving some money for a full van. Be great to see you living to the max in a full van conversion with a kitchen etc. Could do some survival cooking videos etc lol
I'd recommend parking the front of the car facing the wall. That way, even fewer people can see in. Next to walls too to avoid a draft and reduce the effects of the elements.
@@WillsWhereabouts You're welcome matey! I actually went car camping across the North Coast of Scotland during the summer...in my Peugeot 107. That led to a lot of creative usage of interior space (or lack of). It was an epic experience though and I'd happily do it again. Good man for keeping it going during the winter too! I don't think I could hack that.
Hi ASDA Roehampton has a 2 hr parking limit, operated by parking eye, they gave me a £85 ticket, as I stayed over the two hour limit. . . How have you avoided it. . . they rejected my appeal
My local Asda in Sussex doesn't have any parking signs either. It's open 6am til midnight and they lock the gate from 1am til 5am. I know people who stay overnight there. Never been an issue for them as long as they don't need a v early start.

I sleep well in my car with the sounds of the car driving by. It helps me sleep, but I was born and raised in NYC so.

Must have been pretty noisy with all the planes around
Mate, you really should put something underneath that stove when you cook. Other than that great video!!
I remember spending the night in a asda car park years ago. The car broke down and was waiting for a tow. Great video will
