  • After several years of play I thought I would opened this up to see what is inside. It never really had any suction as per the advert to "suck up real bits of debris!"
A bit of a mission to open up but interesting to see the motor and fan assembly. Complete with 'filter' too.
I was not able to improve it so perhaps I was just expecting more from it :)

We are having a similar problem with our grandson's vacuum. It seems to me that when I was putting it together there was a rectangular (4cm x 2cm) plastic piece with a small (5mm) square hole that syphoned the small bits of paper into the suction chamber. Like yours, ours no longer has this piece (at about the 2:30 mark of your video, you show the bottom with a larger 2cm round hole in it, which is what ours now looks like). I think we're experiencing the same problem. The vacuum works fine when we replace the long wand with the shorter one, so I think the suction is probably OK.

I got one of those and I replaced the motor with a edf fan and it worked good

Having the same toy (so weak vaccum) for my little girl, do you have the edf model you've used ?

Yea ours never really picked up well even from new! Think there is a fair bit of difference in tolerance when they are put together.

Sure have, it's an excellent cleaner considering it's mains powered, bagless and quite a few years old now. I liked it so much I bought another one.
