I have received some comments saying that selecting display scaling won’t fix blurry stretched res on all monitors because every monitor handles stretched res differently. If you select display scaling and your game looks blurrier than mine, then try GPU scaling and it should fix the blurriness. If you are unsure what to do then select display scaling as thats what most monitors will use.
Yo critical, how certain are you that True Stretched is safe and not bannable, considering you're using 3rd party software and getting an advantage. Been trying to talk to riot to get a definite answer on whether or not its banable but those are the only things they can tell me, is that if its 3rd party and gives competitive advantage its bannable . Would love to hear your response, thanks.
You will get banned for a 3rd party software. One of my friends did this same exact process and got banned. @@auzzie3462
This is not a good idea as the GPU is already doing extra work scaling. which means it can cause a decrease in FPS, also most people using stretched use it because the pc they use can't handle 1920 with solid frames and GPU scaling in older GPUs is known to cause input lag.
@@auzzie3462 if raw accel isn't bannable when it literally moves your mouse in a perfectly straight line for you then this prob isn't either.
Stretch res helps as a low sens player as well. I play at 400dpi with a 0.5 in game sens, and when I use that on native, it feels like a snail moving across the screen. I’m able to control my flicks and micro flicks with stretched res a lot easier. I definitely recommend messing around with your sensitivity if you decide to play stretch res due to how the mouse works with these resolutions.
👍
Thank you, this is just what i needed. I had the blurriness problem. Yes, the heads were bigger, but i couldnt tell the head apart from the body because of how shit it looked
The heads aren't getting bigger unless ur playing true stretched res, it's placebo
@@jxppe1 true, it's placebo, but dang the head looks like some hentai sht
W video Critical! Love the stretched resolution videos you do! Keep up the amazing content my guy!!
Appreciate it!
great video cheers bro
no problem bro
Very good video bro keep it up
Thanks man
ty for this finally someone actually explained it
no problem, glad it helped :)
i dont think this is true stretched
If i play with "perform scaling on: Display" then it will show blackbars, with or without the tick "override the scaling mode set y games and programs"... I have to have perform scaling on: GPU.
Using this method will it change the resolution on my monitor for when im not playing valorant?
If your monitor instead of gpu is rendering your resolution there’s no point since your input delay won’t be affected anyways
Is there any way to do it without nvdia i have intel uhd graphics
hello guys i need help i have an 4070 ti and good cpu but my game always looks not sharp in full hd. I know that its not my monitors fault bc i also had other which had the same issue. Any1 has a n solution?
What is best true stretched res or the ingame one ?
I actually feel more latency on some resolutions like 1280x1024. But it feels just fine by 1280x960 which i dont get
hmm very weird, just stick to 1280x960 i guess😂
this is because 1280x1024 forces maxes your monitor to 144hz, found this out the hard way.
@@Stax1fy could it also possibly be frame timing/resolution timing
I think that 1680×1050 just like in other games is the best one if you want a little bit of stretch while maintaining quality and not too stretched.
yeah for sure!
@@CriticalRUclips 😁
Hi Critical or anyone who comments but is there anyway to revert these settings and does these settings affect outside valorant?
Nah the settings shouldn’t effect anything else. Your resolution should change back to your regular one when you close the game.
its good when i play with it my aim is good sometimes and the crosshair is better but my background all big but its okay i have it on display too
yeah, when you play for a while. you get used to the UI being bigger but personally the crosshair buff is so nice
Talking about the resolution, I am a desktop player but if I switch to the laptop but play on a same resolution but different size of screen, does the sensitivity work the same?
yeah the sensitivity does change no matter what resolution you play but it may feel different at first due to your fov changing slightly
For everyone to know ultimately its just a preference. It does not reduce input lag , and doesn't give you any direct advantages besides a performance boost which could be helpful on weaker systems. Also if you do end up playing stretched res i'd suggest looking up a proper DISPLAY SCALING(with cru) guide regardless of nvidia or amd settings. Now i'd also suggest enabling (IF ABLE) the following settings to the following resolutions msaax2 with 1440x1080(4:3) and 1280x1024(5:4) and msaax4 with lower resolutions such as 1280x960(4:3) , 1024x768(4:3) and so on if performance isn't an issue for a better visual quality as they do help a lot with aliasing especially in lower resolutions. If you are playing on anything above than 1440x1080 i would not recommend using anti aliasing as it does hinder performance quite a bit
thanks for the useful information dude :)
If playing stretched increases your FPS, then it does reduce input lag. For most that is true, and the amount of reduced input lag is negligible, but saying that it doesn't reduce input lag is wrong.
@@ravencstwo Yeah and also if display scaling is not properly setup or you use gpu scaling etc it INCREASES input lag compared to using native res by a negligible ammount but you didn't see me mention it cause there is no point in doing so
@@infinite6036 I was just telling you that saying it doesn't reduce input lag is incorrect.
@@ravencstwo and i replied saying that the difference is so minuscule that its better left unmentioned. If i did mention people would play stratched and think they are playing on an advantage. To avoid people misunderstanding the statement i avoided it completely.
When I change the scaling method from "GPU" to "Monitor", it will always switch back to "GPU". How do I fix it?
yeah you have to force display scaling. look it up on youtube on how to do it and you should be okay
🔥🔥🔥
yo, to anyone watching this video, stretched res doesn't change anything. if your computer is strugeling to play val, using stretch won't fix that issue, there is about a 5-8% increase in fps, and those are the best cases. it doesn't make the enemies bigger, ur crosshair can be made wider from the crosshair options in game. The only thing that's actually changed is how much you're able to see on your screen at ones, you can kinda say that it lowers your FOV, then stretches that canvas out over the monitor screen.
should i just use native then?
@@gageh67 yes
Also it effects your sensivity because dpi means dots per inches if you lower your resolution dots will change per inch (pixels)
But you can make stretch res like cs btw. But it is in window mode and need to using some program to remove border.

I use streched res bcz i have a lapto with ryzen 5 4600h processor which is gud one to run game above 200fps at 1080p during the global release idk what riot did i get 100-120 fps only and i need to 144z to get that smoothness or else it feels like playing with 30fps streched res makes the game smooth
Edit : If somone know how to fix plz help me
Edit 2; Holy shit i found it if u have same spec as me and have 16gb ram then just go to nvidia control pannel and enable thread optimization and see the magic
idk as the game gets older the updates will change and graphics get better so it may be harder to run now. you should be fine on stretched res tho. have you tried optimizing your laptop?
@@CriticalRUclips yep
@@yuva990Is your ram 8 Gigs?
@@Chugeera nah i have 16 gig ram
I do have same specs but how much fps you gain from thread optimisation?
i got 34 inch monitor i do all that but i still got black bars even if i put valorant on my native res i still have blackbars and my aspect ratio setting is locked cant change between letterbox or fill.....
idk thats so weird, what stretched res have you tired?
Turn off image scaling then go to that aspect ratios settings it will be opened and use full screen or no scaling
for some reason when i use true stretched res when i load into a game it js changes to 1600 x 900 anyone know why?
not sure, lots of factors could lead to that happening. riot are tying to stop true stretched res so that might be why its messing up or it could be something to do with your hardware
Should I make stretched in nividia also or just from the game
just from the game :)
anyway to keep your mouse sensitivity when its stretched or nah?
Yeah 100% keep
i just want to ask about the sensitivity, does the sensitivity also changes when changing resolution? (i think it's called edpi, idk but u get what i mean)
i hope not because if it did, then i'll be having a hard time finding my comfort sens again
It does not change so to say. However it might 'feel' a little different.
it doesn't. i switched it up in game all the time and it feels absolutely the same. i think it all comes down to personal preferences. after all, what good does doing the same as pros if it's not to your comfort?
yeah it doesnt change your sens, it may feel different at first but i think its mainly because of the different fov on stretched res compared to native res.
My 1050ti has no fps change or performance change when I swap from 1920x1080 to 1440x1080 why?
a fellow 1050ti user :) I would recommend to make sure your pc is optimised if your looking for better performance. that means adjusting your windows and nvidia settings to get the most out of your specs. i would recommend a youtuber called "panjno".
That strech res only streches gui and crosshairs
in panel nvidia i have only GPU not the display how to select that ?
1:22 i say here, if you dont have display scaling then you will need to search up how to force display scaling on youtube
any1 knows how to fix the blurry thing with an amd graphic card?
not sure about amd, sorry!
can you do it on laptop? because there is no display setting on nvidia control pannel if u on laptop
U won't be able to do it on laptop
yeah i don't think you can do it on laptop. try search deeply into youtube for any working guides tho
why is my valorant on 4:3 i want it to 16:9
How about for 2k Monitor gamers? What's the best stretched resolution for us 2k monitors?
idk man, i dont have a 2k monitor so couldnt tell ya.. sorry :)
why does nobody asked about how to change off-game resolution to basic one? (1980, etc) I don't want to scroll through the browser in 1024
well for me its not an issue because i wont go on my browser between games or anything so i guess you just have to close valorant if you want to use your pc in 1920x1080. just one of the cons of stretched res i guess and you cant fix it obviously
I did this earlier today and now when i put windowed my aspect res goes to letterbox, help?
why exactly are you trying to play on windowed mode anyways?
WINDOWED MODE REDUCES FPS , PLAY FULL SCREEN
my just switches to 1600 x 900 when ingame
many things could cause that, gpu settings, monitor, in game settings
If you want guys the real stretched res you need winexp
You got things mixed up. the GPU uses its scaling to re-render each frame by the GPU, instead of taking the Monitor scaler which is "display" also it depends on the monitor scaler.
so if your monitor doesn't have good scalers on low resolutions like ZOWIE(I tried) monitors, Put it on GPU to make it look better on low resolution.
if Alienware (I tried), they have good built in display scaler, so just use Display
Idk about other brands, but u need to test by urself, in all cases, GPU makes the game much better and not blurry unlike display scalers.
ahh you may be correct, when i did my research display scaling was the best for better quality as it did sound correct. i guess its quite dependent on the monitor which i didn't know. i will make a pinned comment to address this. thanks for the helpful comment!
I have a zowie 240hz monitor, so you are suggesting i should use gpu scaling?

does changing res affect lineups?
yeah if your using a lineup where you have to use the UI but with your crosshair then no
i am surprised that people still havent realized that stretched res that we use in CS does not work in valorant, the game is designed differently and prevents the advantage of wider models, the only thing stretching is the UI, crosshair, abilities etc, not the models, thats why I on ultrawide monitor need to also play with blackbars on sides regardless of which res and scaling in nvidia panel I use, its RIOT's decision to prevent an advantage over an enemy with either higher fov or wider models.
use stretched res its allowed
@@Rinnqgan i was thinking of editing my comment, i actually found a workaround to have it stretched like i have in CS, but i dont think its intended, i tried it and didnt like it so i am using 16:9, but i can make valorant stretched, i wonder if its bug or workaround, when in game i go to video, select 2nd monitor as output, DO NOT apply, and ESC back to game, it stretches it, weird
@@BeowulfGaming yeah but i mean u can also do it with 1 monitor really easily just search on yt
Stretch res is much more better even if it doesn't stretches model, I mean it will increase ur confident man, or you can also use true stretch reses.
@@krishnanilsarkar5014 i moved to 16:9 some time ago in both CS and Valo and finally broke that habit i had from 1999 to 2019, and i enjoy it more now, also the stretched res in CS (btw i know a trick to do it in Valo as well) does make it easier to spot enemies and models are wider but also move faster because the distance to travel on display is longer, makes it harder to hit a jiggle peek. To each their own :)
how can i fix blurry resolution with intel
not sure :/
Does this also work on gaming laptops?
Not sure
why does my computer stretched 1440x1080 but has black bars for 1280x960
maybe its due to your monitor man, some monitors act differently to different resolutions
Yes, you will decrease the res for FPS and not your graphics
“Your fps also reduces” allo
yessir
I mean this is NOT a bad vid but the reasons why people wont use stretched are wrong
because in valorant you'll only have a true stretched resolution if you use third party software because valorant rescales the default ones ingame to 16:9
also stretched cuts of some of your field of view or vision.
i personally prefer stretched but still play native res due to the bigger field of view.
yeah very true! thanks for sharing this :D
Yeah that is true but you know… 4:3 is just an undroppable habbit
bro ı dont have ndvia how ı can do that

How to get rid of the black bars on the sides
Do you know how I can GET the black bars on the sides?
lol
not sure, it could be your monitor being weird. try different resolutions to see if they all show black bars or not
I use 1440x900 - 16:10 isnt that good?
yeah thats a decent res
Can u help with black bars please..
add my discord and i can try help ya - Critical #4952
When I do stretch res it shows black bars in my screen.Does anyone know how to fix?
Its always like that just get used to it
Go into the range first > Change to the resolution you want on Nvidia > Put your native resolution (1920x1080) + Fill + Windowed Mode in Valorant > Apply > Run Winexp as administrator and remove the edges + Maximize.
That's how i removed my blackbars
it must either be your monitor or Nvidia settings causing the black bars unless your trying to do true stretched res which is much more complicated
you have wrong scaling mode in your graphics card
it doesn't work for laptop users right?
this video was mainly for Nvidia users and i should of mentioned that at the start.. try search deep into youtube for any working laptop guides. im not sure weather its possible tho

solution for amd users?
idk, this guide was mainly for Nvidia users. there should be a guide on youtube no??
Btw always use gpu scaling if you have a modern gpu
how to do it with AMD gpu?

fnatic leo uses 1280x1024 DRX buzz uses 1280x960 ange1 uses 1280x960. just check valorant pro settings mate.
Is it impossible for a laptop to do this?
i think so, maybe if you look on youtube or reddit then someone may have found a work around
i dont have nvidia ?
i used to do that on amd when i didnt have nividia, just miss around amd settings its pretty easy to do
Not using win exp. Not true stretch lol
my hz feels lower on it
fair enough, you shouldnt actually have lower refresh rate unless your not creating the stretched resolution properly
Nvidia Display scaling > Select Display over GPU is correct but as never worked none of 17 computers that we have on in our cafe with various spec! So that's something to review
yeah check out the pinned comment! i have received lots of mixed comments about using display or GPU scaling but it mainly comes down to what monitor you are using and how that monitor scales the resolution

@@CriticalRUclips I send to you
Nope when you play stretched there are sole other changements firstly you have less fov but same enemies scales and by the fact that your game is less large, thé enemies run faster so 16/9 so much better
yeah i guess theres pros and cons to stretched res, it just depends what you prefer!
Ironically using stretched results in a lower FPS for me, because on lower resolutions the CPU tends to do the majority of the work while the GPU is kinda chilling. My GPU is good while my CPU is approaching the end of its lifecycle, so I actually get stable 144 FPS on 1440p high settings while with stretched res I only get ~100 :D
oh damn fair enough dude, for me its kinda the opposite.. my gpu is a little worse than my cpu. i got a 1050 ti
Haha I would choose only 1440X1080 because in valorant when you use 1280X1024 it will only strech the HUD and cross hair and actually little bit a materials but not that player it will only blur your view and you will see like only pixels is kinda hard on mid range and higher like 30-50 meters you see actually shit with that res and in 1920X1080 you have more clear view but you have pretty shitty crosshair so I really can recommend 1440X1080 because it will not destroy your view that much and your cross hair will be same on 1280X1024 or 1280X960
yeah 100% agree.
How do you make ur game saturated like that
I just add it while editing to make it look a bit nicer, but you can do this for your game to you just gotta download vibrannceGUI
I have 1050 GTX and get 300+ FPS without stretch res.
jeez i got same but i get mad fps drops without stretched res with 180 capped frames. your cpu probs much better than mine
@@CriticalRUclips i went from 16 gig ram to 32 gig ram and gained 100 fps
Why is it blurry
Could be your monitor or Nvidia settings
@@CriticalRUclips what do i do? Gpu scaling looks less blurry but the screen still looks like garbage
This is an in-depth explanation of why "stretch res" is BS, this video does not explain how to get stretch res, and true stretch res is bad anyways.
In-game strech res is literally just giving yourself a disadvantage. As long as your FPS is above your HZ rate you are 100% fine unless you want minorly better input delay.
There are options to reduce your resolution to boost fps without stretching the image for no reason. In game settings do not make enemies bigger, it just makes your UI uglier.
The "benefit" of your crosshair being bigger makes no sense since the settings for crosshairs are so versatile, and you can legit make stretch res crosshairs on non stretch resolutions.
If you think the heads are bigger it's placebo, riot has made absolutely sure that you can't use in game settings for stretch res, and vanguard can and will ban you for true stretch res.
If you ever see a video from a content creator that looks like true stretch res they are 99% of the time just editing the video. Also true stretch res, while making the enemies wider, also makes your horizontal movement scale accordingly, so not only will your vertical and horizontal sensitivities be different, making it harder to control, you also won't actually find it easier as it's the same distance on your mousepad as you move around, also you lose some FOV so there is almost no advantages to even true stretch res. You might think "oh then I'll change my sensitivity" but then your vertical sensitivity will be even more fked and you can literally just change your sensitivity on normal res to get the same results without all the weird scaling and vertical-horizontal sens issues.
TLDR:
The little numbers you see on your screen like "16: 10" "4:3" etc. only apply to UI and the rest is just scaled back to native. The only way to get true stretch res is to use a 3rd party software which is bannable, and true stretch has very few upsides and many downsides and will not help you click heads.
No hate to the creator of this video I'm sure they just don't know but I mean it's pretty easy to just boot up the game, change the res, and realize it does nothing.
is stretched res meant to look kinda blurry tho
not really, mines always been clear as day
1. Just make your crosshair bigger.
2. Play native aspect ratio but lower res like 1600 ✕ 900
3. Don't fucking play stretched
why you so against stretched res😂
because it does nothing but nake your UI uglier. You can get all of the benefits you mentioned in the video without sacrificing UI.@@CriticalRUclips
Its really not that useful. It doesn't make player models bigger, which is its main advantage in fps games like CSGO. The fps gain tbh is negligible, so that leaves us with just a reduced field of view which negatively impacts your game.
yeah fair, i mainly use it for more stable fps and the bigger crosshair is so much nicer. after using it for a while i literally can't switch back LOL

me who just increases crossair size 🤡🤡

xD
It will not increase your bullet's scope of contact

this moment when mid-game you changed crosshair for the biggest one you could and now your team is screaming at you: "WHAT IS THAT CROSSHAIR BRO"
Is this banable?
Absolutely not, many pros use it and it’s literally in the game settings. “True stretched res” is bannable tho because thats using a third party software to change the game settings
@@CriticalRUclips thanks for clarifying
але для русачей такое видео где?
idk im not Russian
Isn’t Valorant a Cpu based game?
yeah
No. No games are "cpu based"

@@CriticalRUclips question, why use display scaling over GPU?
MAKES YOUR CROSSHAIR BIGGER??? NO WAY lol, Just make a bigger crosshair
thats not how it works lol
You Forgot to talk about the real reason why people do this.....
which is?
you are doing streched res incorrectly man the only real way to make it not blurry and stretched is to have 1920 by 1080 and a 4 3 aspect ratio but i dont believe valorant offers this anymore you may be able to find a way tho yall are all just changing ur resolutions and calling it streched rez but thats not what streched rez is at all depending on the fov streched rez doesnt even stretch its easy in csgo and r6 even because the fov is so low but valorant is resting at 103 and you cant change it so in order to actually get it to where heads would be bigger it would take more than just changing resolutions on your monitor.
yeah there are not fov benefits to stretched res. however for people who may have performance issues like fps drops and input latency. then stretched res can help make the game easier to run as its played in a lower resolution. also there is some minor benefits which some players may like which are the stretched HUD and stretched crosshair.
@@CriticalRUclips your input latency isnt going to change from streched brother...
it definitely can affect it, your game being easier to run can allow faster processing therefore latency is reduced. but obviously there will always be some input delay between your kbm @@thouxanth
latency does not change from stretched res. Latency, also known as ping, is a measure of the total amount of time it takes your gaming device to send data to the game server and then receive it back on your device your ping will never be affected by the resolution you play at, this is widely known and as far as I can see you are the only one in this comment section saying otherwise I see a ton of people correcting you on this mistake... have a good one. @@CriticalRUclips
input lag and latency are not the same thing my friend.@@CriticalRUclips
amd users crying rn
as an intel user i still can never get any advantage
Stretching is CHEATING> You have to play with bigger models to hit the shots? Cheating.
yeah true stretched res is definitely sketchy but normal stretched res is all good. allows for more fps, less input delay and larger crosshair!
But it makes the enemies faster so.
placebo
perhaps, but people need to understand that their are actual benefits of using stretched res
