I'm a Panther fan, but I'll give you some fair assessments on us and what you should do.
1- I believe the Rags will have better games and I don’t expect any blowouts either way. I'm preparing myself for the inevitable OT games. This series is far from over.
2- Our forecheck and defense will frustrate teams, but we're susceptible to 2 or 3 breakaways per game. As well as a few odd man rushes. Gotta capitolize when you get the chance.
3- Try and stay away from the board battles cause its where we are at our best. Attack the middle.
4- Bob is a Vezina winner and finalist this year for a reason. I never understood anyone who thought the goalie matchup was anything other than a push. He will frustrate opposing fanbases. That rat bastard, Vasi had the same affect on us for years.
5- If you're going to attack him, go high. Best bet is to try and take away his eyes. He's really good if he can see the puck and doesn’t give up many soft ones.
6- We did not look good on offense despite winning a bunch of board battles.
7- Lastly, Rempe will get your fanbase hyped, but our top liners are too smart to get into fights with a 4th liner. We got a great PK unit, but im pretty sure we want to limit the power play opportunities. We stayed out of the box, pretty well versus the Bolts, after game 2.
8- We aren’t overwhelming at home, but I doubt we will lose 2 in a row. You guys need to win game 2.

@RangersCentral No problem, my friend. It's unfortunate that more fans of opposing teams can't be more cordial to each other. We don't watch each others team on a daily basis, so I wouldn't expect to know everything about your squad. No matter what happens, the winner of this series will have earned the Stanley Cup appearance. Two great teams going at it. This is all time series stuff. These OT are gonna do wonders for my health. The Rangers need to quit using the stretch pass... They keep turning over the puck with it.. They need shorter passes with support to work the puck up the ice and they need to calm down. They looked a little nervous.. Other than that, all good.. Remember the Panthers got a freebee from Laff and an empty netter...
they are playing east west in a series that is north south. sean avery was pointing out times where they should have dumped it instead of making fancy stick handles through the nz.

The Rangers are being tested by the tougher team. The Panthers are more aggressive than any other team the Rangers have played. The Panthers are one of the best in forechecking and screening and they skate 60 minutes of hockey straight.

6:57 Agreed, Flrodia didn't run away with this game. We had 3 missed breakaway attempts and both teams had at least 3 posts. Granted we need to clean up our game for sure but Bounces didn't go our way either. In the playoffs that can be the difference between win and lose. But we've been bad on breakaways all this season for the love of god can these guys practice them!

It’s over for the rangers it’s just a matter of how many games it takes. Panthers tasted blood sometimes they play with their food but they always eat.

I like the Rempe kid, but if he takes a bad penalty etc...he'll be riding the bench...then your down a forward....and honestly I don't think he can keep up to the pace of a conference final...Rangers need to be on the offensive ...can't score from your own end...Roslovic has some grit...but Vesey is like Marner and Petterson they disappear when the shit gets real...:ets hope its a good series and no injuries to either side...
You cant come out and play with fire for 10-15 mins a night and expect to hoist the prize. All season long this team has had a problem putting in a full 60 . Not winning a cup off PP goals alone.

Whatever Panthers fans are claiming this is a sweep, dont listen to those trolls. The series is 1-0 Panthers, that is it.
This series is a long way from being done. As a Panthers fan, I expect a series win, and did so prior to the start of the series, but I do not expect this to be easy. If they keep the odd man rushes at a minimum, and stay out of the box, it will be easier than it would be if they gave up multiple PPs per game, to the Rangers.
And calling for Rempe wont make much of a change, because the Panthers will not be baited into anything. They are too experienced and focused on their ultimate goal.

The panthers played a sloppy gaming on the offensive side. The Rangers were outplayed.

The fact of the matter is, the Rangers have not been dominant in these playoffs. Of course they swept the Capitals, who the Rangers were expected to beat, but despite the sweep, the Capitals had the Rangers pinned in and were outworking them for many parts of games. Carolina did as well, outside of the 3rd period of Game 6, and the games where the Rangers Special Teams unit dominated the games. Also, the goaltending was much different, where Lindgren and Andersen are not Sergey Bobrovsky, who is a much better goalie than the Rangers have faced so far. And this Florida team has 4 good lines, play a very tough system, and can absolutely smother the opponent, especially a team like the Rangers, who like to play the East to West game, looking to pass instead of shoot first. This is a series where unfortunately the Rangers will most likely be exposed, and it will be extremely difficult to win 4 games out of the last 6, unless the Rangers change their way of playing.
Rangers should try to score first. Otherwise, if Florida score firsts, then they park the bus. Vegas won three of their four games in the Cup Final, last year, by scoring first and managed to score quite a bit

It’s not the coach, it’s the players. If you can’t get fired up for a playoff game at home, somethings wrong. Remember these same players lost games 3 and 4 at home vs the Devils last year.

Lets see where tonight goes. Usually bounce back. FL respects this team. The most penalized team in the league took two penalties and one was a bench minor. That will limit some of their typical dirty play. Rangers need to be better. Id like to see Jack out. Fil on L1 and bring in Rempe for one game to see where it goes.

We need to watch tape of last year between the panthers and vegas!Vegas!! Golden knights destroyed them and outplayed them.
Vegas had a big team, physical so the Panthers couldn't overwhelm Vegas the way they did in Game 1 against the Rangers.
They weren't that much bigger and they beat them with stretch passes like crazy.

I know no one will agree with me but I would sit Chytil and kakko for rempe and wheeler Chytil has barely played this season he’s not gonna miraculously win rangers the series and Kakko just hasn’t been good he’s not useful enough and wheeler and kakko are the same speed they are both slow as shit but at least wheeler can at least make passes and finish better than kakko and rempe needs to play they need guy finishing every check and crushing every guy he’s comes in contact and Gus obviously should be sitting for jones
Also chytil is playing a position he isn’t as used to so I just don’t buy he’s gonna do much besides get hurt in this series

There is no grit or sandpaper with this team. None. Not really any emotion either. You would think you would come out amped. Been watching a ton of the 94 stuff and I know the game has changed a lot since then but damn. Not going to win anything with out both. What worked in the regular season is out the window. This is playoff hockey. If Rempe does play just stick him in front of Bob. He will take a beating but he is a big tough kid. Maybe the only way is to screen him a lot. Watching all the 94 cup stuff and I don’t see this team winning. We were spoiled with the Messier’s and graves and leetch’s. Gritty proven winners like Anderson and Mactavish. This team can’t do shit when then are getting outplayed physically. If it was a skill and no checking league then maybe. You only can get lucky so many times. Being outshot every game too. That catches up to a team. IDK just my opinion. I miss old hockey personally. Not just the game but the players. Tons of personality throughout the league that you don’t see anymore. Used to be that your best player was your captain. What happened there?

It's actually not over if the Rangers lose game 2. The historical percentages for a team losing games 1-2 at home and coming back to win the series is 19.8%. So one out of five times, a team losing games 1-2 at home have come back to win. That's surprising but true. The Rangers did it against Montreal in 1997.
Even if it's 2-0 Florida the series is never over until it's actually over in hockey. Even 3-0 leads have been lost twice in the last 15 years. Gotta deliver every win it's never gonna be handed to you. This coming from a Panthers fan.

Far from over. The historical odds of winning a 7-game series are 19.8% for a team going down 0-2 with the next game on the road. Oddly, the odds are higher for a team losing the first two at home than on the road. The Rangers did it in 1997 against Montreal.
Coming from a panthers fan, for what its worth, its only the 1st game both teams are still feeling each other out and will make their adjustments accordingly..its gonna get chippy and cheap shots will come, as the series goes along..I mean WTF? NY isn't in the eastern finals for nothing!! i guess I'm saying there is a lot of hockey to be played still..the series is definitely going 6-7 games

I’m a Stars fan and don’t know much about the Rangers or Panthers but what struck me was, according to the radio announcer, the amount of Ranger players on the ice that had played in none or maybe one or two playoff games this season, one player hadn’t played in the last 70 something games due to injury. My gut feeling was the Rangers were in for a bad night.
that was only one player - chytil who was out with a concussion most of the season. but hes a skilled 21 oa pick so in a perfect world you want him in the lineup. but is this the right moment?
