Can a 2004 Mazda RX8 Pass Emissions With an Ebay Catalytic Converter? PT. 2

In this multi-video mini-series, I will be preparing the Rx8 for the emissions test, starting off with the installation of the catalytic converter.

so did it ever pass?? i gutted my cat and have emissions due and cant find an oem cat for less than 1K so wondering if there is a solid aftermarket cat that will get me to pass because aftermarkets are hit or miss

You mean the one that sounds like a screaming banshee on cold starts 😂 yes I do.

@@MavvSpeed it really dose😂. I did a similar install. Bought my 06 for $1,500 without any emissions components. Sourced the part ( junkyard, amazon, & eBay) and got it done. While driving around to get it ready for emissions the clutch went out. So really hope to see it work out for you. Currently planning out the clutch replacement, any suggestions?

@@Noubee I’ve heard good things about the Exedy stock clutch kit. If you’re wanting a little heavier of a feel, the stage Exedy kit seems to be a good bang for your buck. As long as you aren’t planning on going crazy with power, I’d stay away from any of the super expensive ones. These things don’t have enough torque to warrant a high-performance clutch in my opinion.

​@@MavvSpeed So, did it pass smog? I have the check engine light on RN., And im trying to get it passed in September 2023. Let me know if this alternative worked. Thank you.
