@@ThePerpetualStudent I'm in my fifties and unfortunately live in an incredibly liberal state. I can tell you firsthand that leftist policies are unbearable, unhealthy, and are extremely counterproductive and destructive. I envy you living in a free red state
It’s a requirement to bash Regan, especially when you’re parading as a leftist while living in luxury. Sort of keeps people’s focus off of their hypocrisy.
He exudes masculinity but in the pure positive form, far from toxic. Real masculinity includes having empathy and having the courage to express it like he does
As a young lad I heard Red Roses For Me by the Pogues and thought it was too raw and Shane couldn’t sing but they became my most listened to and most frequented gig band. I heard these lads last week after being converted to Fontaine’s DC and loved their NPR gig. It’s really good.
I'm so sad. They're playing in my hometown, but they've sold out and plus I'm only 17 and it wasn't an all ages show. Hopefully they'll come back to Albany again. It isn't often we get such cool acts like yours.
I don't agree with 75% of what they are saying, especially the privilege bit and the toxic bit. But I don't care, their music has energy. The music is a medium that connects people, politics divide people. I listen and accept the music bit, the lyrics are not for me, but doesn't matter. The guys have believe system and message that I don't agree with, who cares. I can just say "soy boys" or stuff like that, but that is a term that divides as is the "toxic man". People should find points they agree on, not ones they are divided by. And music a great medium for that. Lot's of energy, chaos, primal sounds, good job, that's punk! The message is not against the machine, it supports it, but people learn, people grow. Don't let stupid words divide you, listen to the music, not to the lyrics (if you don't share the message), be happy, be positive and be punk!
Oh my, I always thought I liked Idles but listening to them, especially when I got to the 5.58min mark, I realised that I love them. Thank you for encouraging me to have faith in the human species.
I find it hilarious how the fascists in these comments, and fascists in general are unable to see politics in art. They are so very ignorant and completely blind towards the context.
I dont even think you know what fascist means. Disagreeing with what someone says or criticizing it doesnt make you a fascist. Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.

Just curious how did Regan screw people over?
Yeah, kinda wondering the same thing myself. I think when you become a famous band the first thing you're expected to do is shit on rightwing politics...funny thing is leftwing politics aren't doing too well right now are they?
@@thedfsanchez9576I am 45. As I get older it seems to be a prerequisite. I have lived in two states now. One, liberal, and one conservative. I am much happier living in the conservative state. Right win politics is not perfect but I definitely lean that way as I have ages.
@@CRGtx325LOL. Hear hear!!
Immense & proper quality production m8!
thank you!
He exudes masculinity but in the pure positive form, far from toxic. Real masculinity includes having empathy and having the courage to express it like he does
Hoped that that watermelon line in love song was referring to dirty dancing, haha, love IDLES
As a young lad I heard Red Roses For Me by the Pogues and thought it was too raw and Shane couldn’t sing but they became my most listened to and most frequented gig band. I heard these lads last week after being converted to Fontaine’s DC and loved their NPR gig. It’s really good.
Joe would make a great teacher.
These guys remind me of the 1980s early 90s DC punk scene. Love them.
Was there a knit beanie convention I missed?
love this band's music and attitude
Cant hear the interview cos the music in too loud in parts
THANK YOU MATE I NEEDED TO HEAR THIS
Just here revisiting that comment about the royal family in light of the Oprah interview.
I'm so sad. They're playing in my hometown, but they've sold out and plus I'm only 17 and it wasn't an all ages show.
Hopefully they'll come back to Albany again. It isn't often we get such cool acts like yours.
that was mesmerising
Decent dudes, can't respect them enough seen them at kendal calling, hear them everyday.
I don't agree in the point of "men privilege" but damn that was so interesting !
The closest thing we have to modern day Sex Pistols. What an exciting, intelligent and vital band. These guys are important.
Agreed, absolutely. These blokes are urgently necessary in this age.
Uh, the Pistols weren’t pussies.
@@stinkybritches4540 The sex pistols were a boyband.
@@danmickle2604 Sex Pistols bothered the ESTABLISHMENT... Idles haven't nor NEVER will. LOL 😂
These boys couldn't parrot establishment any better. They're doing what is popular
Amazing band! I love everything they stand for 🙏🏼
I find it hilarious how the fascists in these comments, and fascists in general are unable to see politics in art. They are so very ignorant and completely blind towards the context.
maybe everyone is sick of rock just being safe and lame
I dont even think you know what fascist means. Disagreeing with what someone says or criticizing it doesnt make you a fascist.
Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.
We need more radical and prejudice ideologies in modern society
where are the fascists?
Ol beef Right here
Beautiful!

Love IDLES.
Cournioni thank you!!!
What’s the second song called
What is male privilege and where do I get mine?
Its just millennial liberal bullshit. Masculine males are needed more than soft men who cry and complain. Male privilege is a myth orchestrated by castrated soft men who want to be excepted by their confused friends
@@Anthony-lv9lr found the toxic male
@@VincentGilmore whats toxic about natural male qualities? Which part of masculinity didn't progress human civilization for centuries? I dont think pussy men built the pyramids. Stop with the stupid trendy buzz words you learned from the poisonous left.
@@Anthony-lv9lr oh you’re so naive. There’s nothing wrong with being a male. There’s EVERYTHING wrong with being a male blind to your own advantages and beliefs that you cannot express emotions or always have to act like a hardass. Just cry a little or go to fucking therapy.
