Most are. You just fail to realize a reviewer isn't the same person you are.
I don't know Owen almost 70 people agree with me, and if you read the comments on most ign reviews, it's talking about how ign is trash etc
the reason this review is good is because luke actually takes the time to play all what these games have to offer and on top of that, he's a car enthusiast. The issue is with most ign reviewers, they don't take to time to fully play the game or actually understand what the franchise is about. Which means they'll judge it in a way that nobody wanted them to. Its like that with the uncharted 4 review. Lucy reviewed that game and yet she never played the other uncharted games, and so it got a 8.9 (it turned to a 9.0 due to fan outrage and multiplayer.) Gregg miller on the other hand reviewed uncharted 3 and did play the other ones, so he saw that the game evolved, so he gave it a 10. in short, ign always get people with little idea of what that game is about to review it and end up give it a score lower than it should be.
Dude, its a plague on the industry of so called "games journalism" PC Gamer's review of ReCore is just a disgrace. Love it or hate it, at least play the freaking game before making a review. The guy who wrote it actually spent time complaining and deducting because the game lacked fast travel and a game with a large open world should have fast travel... That would be all well and good, except the game does have fast travel, it's shown very obviously after just 10 minutes of play. Needless to say, the reviewer didn't even play the game, probably just stole snippets from xbox 1 reviews and youtube clips, pretty disgraceful
I think it deserves atleast a 9.8 if not a 10! this game blows every other racing game out of the water, forget drive club and crew, play Forza!

Well that depends a lot on what you're looking for. Hardcore simracing fans will most definitely stick to Project Cars, asseto corsa, iRacing or DiRT Rally while others may prefer the arcade madness of Trackmania.
Of course it comes down to preference but saying it beats literally every other racing game is flat out wrong.

Never had any of the xboxs but bought a Xbox One S primary for its 4k Blu ray player. I played Horizon 3 last night and wow am I sold... This will be my first xbox game ever and I'm not even a racing fan.

unfortunately gt sport is just a sliver of gt7, so it will lack the features of the full game, whenever that comes out. to me, it's the worst thing about the gran tourismo series, which lately has just been kinda meh imo

GT sport is as much arcade as driveclub is. And GT7 will be a arcade simulator like the previous gt or forza games, it's far from a real race simulator, you would be able to notice if you'd try a real racing sim vs gt with a proper ffb wheel.

DriveClub came out 3 years ago and still looks better, but I'm still excited for Horizon 3
It looks better in terms of realism. But Forza looks better just due to the fun and lighthearted tone it takes usually.

GT Sport might not end up being as trashy as we thought it was originally going to be since it has more development time, and at least there is local co-op in it.
Forza has local multiplayer too. Horizon is the only series that is co-op online. The Motorsport Forza games have split screen (local) multiplayer.
Amazing game on the Xbox One unlike Playstation 4 who have none good racing games lmao but how can they forget that cars drives in the wrong position. They should drive on the right side not the left lol.

GT Sport has less cars and more tracks than F5 and I'd prefer more tracks over cars but still... That was in 2013 and was a launch title... F5 had an excuse... GT Sport has been in development FOREVER.

After reading some of the comments... Gran Turismo still exists?! I feel like Gran Turismo went down the shitter when Forza came out. Don't get me wrong, I loved Gran Turismo, but it's going to be hard to compete with Forza at this point.

More cars? Not really, because it's a bs move if you take one model of a car and divide it in to 5 indentical cars, who's only difference ist that one has an interior view and the rest has been produced in different years. Better physics? Maybe... But if you wan't more of a simulation game, than the most realistic physics engine has project cars. So at this point GT has nothing new to offer because a list of 1500 cars which in reality are between 150-300 isn't worth getting a PS, because on consoles the best racing games are on Xbox

A game like the "Binding of Isaac" perhaps. Mechanically, the game, in a lot of fans opinions, can be considered perfect for the goals its trying to achieve. However, the niche appeal of such a genre prevents any reviewer from giving it a 10 because giving a 10 would be a "gold standard" and assumes the game is a must play and genre defining, a bold statement to make. The point I'm trying to get at is that a game doesn't start with a "10" and gets points docked off, it starts with a "0" and is given points to define a standard. Someone can make, mechanically, the perfect game of "Pong" but it would probably only achieve a score of 7 at best. Giving a "10", in my opinion, means that this game excels above and beyond the standard for the genre and would be what every other game in the genre will look up to. If Forza Horizon 3 was a "10", then then "Forza Horizon 4" should have a pretty difficult time living up to its predecessor. Albeit, innovating in the racing genre is probably more difficult than other genres but still. Welp, there is your long winded answer. Lmao what am I doing, i should be doing hw.
Sadly, Forza Horizon 3 is headed towards "End of Life" status, and it will be discounted until it reaches End of Life on September 27.

Assuming there is currently a game out there with a 10-mile wide sandbox racer with 600+ cars. Tech currently has it's limitations. Perhaps in another 20 years that will be a thing.

Glad to see it got reviewed so well. It looked amazing and I was worried that it wouldn't be able to compete with the previous iteration that did so well.
Hate games nowadays making these HUGE maps then the game doesn't even run. The forza games show quality over quantity ( map wise) but the with the number of cars, amazing songs, visuals, customisation and general presentation... this game holds the racing crown now.

I was a Need for Speed fan but it isn't to argue against, with a review of 6.3 it's safe to say Horizon series is the best racing game currently on the market. I feel sorry for PlayStation owners.

Usually it is the PC games that have to be terribly dumbed down to run on consoles, so in this case, I can kind of agree that we are likely to see a poor console port for the PC. Otherwise, there wouldn't have been much work that needed to be done in order to let the PC players have the demo at the same time as the console players. Just the fact that they delayed the PC demo until after the game launches is a bad sign for PC gamers.
+Trueflight Silverwing Well Forza 6 Apex was released to PC to help them with optimization. so we should see a nice port

This game is amazing but the worst thing about is the players online deliberate ram into you during races and it completely destroys the fun. In the end, it doesn't even matter if you're are a good driver or not.

Alex Merriam Get better? You can't stop people from manoeuvring their car directly in front of you and making you swerve off the track or crash and stop almost completely.
You can stop that happening if you play smarter. Just wait for them to fly around it, then take it properly. If you do this on all the early corners, you will get far enough ahead to stop them from even being able to ram you.
This happens in many forza games with newbie players, just make sure to look behind you frequently.

Xbox has the best console first person shooter franchise (Halo), the best third person shooter franchise (Gears), and the best racing game franchise (Forza). Excellent console to play video games

I got chills, I've been playing the Forza Franchise since Motorsport 3 I've seen it evolve year after year and introducing the Horizon series it what they needed. I put countless hours into the Horizon 1&2 and enjoyed every second of it. I got chills watching this, I can NOT wait to sit back with my headphones on, listen to great music and play one of my most anticipated games of the year. It was a well deserved 9.5.

I imagine because it's a racing game. There's no attempt at a story so I imagine it can never be a masterpiece however great. This is a good sign as the means this could be one the best racing games to date.
The only thing I could extract from what he said in the video is that the game only runs on 30 FPS. Maybe that's why,

Forza Horizon 2 was mostly 70% the reason I bought an Xbox One instead of upgrading to a PS4 (I had a PS3). I'm sooooo happy I bought one because Forza did well on this game.

KSI doubtful. If it does it probably wouldn't be for a while. Quantum Break is coming to Steam the end of the month... 6 months after release. I'm not waiting 6 months to play FH3 lol. I bought it on the Windows Store. I haven't had issues with Forza 6 Apex at all from the Windows Store and that is a beta.

Horizon 2 had my favorite opening to a video! Can't wait to see what they have and most importantly what music choice they have in store for us.

Story based games get 10 because there aren't games that can do one thing better than them. For racing games, driveclub will always have beter graphics, nfs will always have better customization, (for now) gt and forza will have better car list, the crew will have a bigger map and you will never be able to combine all these in one game
I'm not even a racing game guy and I love FH3. It's about as close to perfect as one can get. Worth every penny.

I've only played the demo, on a 5+ year old 1080p HD tv, Xbox one, and it's without a doubt one of the best looking games I've ever seen.

I sit here as a PS4 and Xbox One owner, laughing at the comments. I prefer the PS4, and would pick it over the Xbox One anyday. But i had to own the Xbox One just because of the Forza Franchise. Best car games by far. But for console exclusive games, the PS4 wins imo.
No, its not fact. Its your opinion. I pryder the joypad on the ps4 more then the Xbox one. Its a matter of prefrence. The things you hate on the ps4 might be the things that i love. Im not a ps4 or Xbox one fanboy. I like both consoles. I just prefers the ps4.
Dude seriously, I know exactly where you're coming from. This is the only game that ever remotely tempts me to buy an Xbox. It looks like an open world version of Drive Club. If they had like 6 quality exclusives like this they'd be unstoppable. They only have this and maybe Gears. The rest of their stuff is 1000% hot garbage.
Also, the DS4 is better for one reason, you can actually feel the force feedback more because your hand actually touches more surface area of the controller. That said, the DS4's durability is terrible.

Well honestly I never got my self into Forza series much after the original Xbox. Now I played Forza Horizon through free gold games this month and I've actually grown to quite like it. It reminds me so much of NFS Most Wanted (2005) and NFS Carbon. I think Microsoft has gotten me into there Horizon series and I might actually get this game soon.
