You could tell through the movie Eric sensed it was Ariel who saved her, but because she was mute he couldn’t prove it, Eric was obviously suspicious about Vanessa upon seeing her, like he didn’t believe it was her.
I love how he hears her voice multiple times kind of overlayed as you see him getting more confused, you can see him almost questioning his sanity. This is my favorite scene, sends chills down my back every time.
Funfact its actually daylight...the editor make it night cause it will be dangerous if jessica sitting there while the wave are so big and scary at night
One thing I loved about this scene was how distracting and predatory Ursula was being, the way she lured him in, how she threw her voice around to disorient him and striking right when he was vulnerable.
I know that the original 1989 version of always have a place in my heart, so I will say I really liked this struggle depicted here that Eric had. He had his mind made up, and he was going to go to Ariel, but the voice was just pulling him back, getting closer than trying to turn away, but drawing right back. Like a proper siren pulling in the prey.
First of all this is not Eric and what you just described is literally what happened in the original little mermaid. I think a lot of you guys need to rewatch the original little mermaid.
@@ashleymahon9883 in this movie Vanessa and Eric are cute. Ariel is narcissic and toxic character this irritates shit with her one emotion in the face and act without senses at all ( knowing constalations in one scene but put soap in the mouth in another, steering ship in one scene but fork her dreads in another) and her hairstyle us real dread ) game of words!
this is beautiful. reminds me of my disney auditions, and even the times in burbank when these newbies would take over and we would somehow always win.
I wish we would had seen Ursula’s full transformation to Vanessa. I think either it may had looked too scary for children or Disney was just being cheap and didn’t wanna pay more money for the cgi
That's is not scary! Scary is Ariel running over people with the carriage! Or Ariel laughs at Flounder when Scuttle eats fish of his size in front of him, king Triton kling people, Ursula killing mermaids! All toxic and murderous characters! Transformation is nothing compared that!
I wish they gave ariel a pretty gown instead of a summer dress. I get that it’s suppose to fit the “environment” (tropical environment) but if that’s the case then they also should’ve given Ursula a summer dress too instead of a gown.
@@Gacha_Nazrinofficial I think Eric wanted her to be a part of it since he was looking for her despite being bewitched but she ran away due to being heart broken. Even if she didn’t run away, I’m still not certain if they would’ve given her a gown despite the royal family temporarily taking care of her. And even if they gave her a gown at the end when she and eric left to go travel, personally it would look out of place. It would only make more sense for her to have a gown when she and Eric had dinner or when they went they went to go explore the kingdom.
@@livingwithautism3789 I colonies of that centuries they would wear Gone with Wind type outfits with crinlonies till the floor like OG Ariel!
It does. His eyes glowed in the live action and he always appears to be in a trance when they announce the engagement. Eric himself even says he’s trying to make sense of it, and appears confused

I love how Vanessa sings while sitting on the rock, almost in a haunting siren-like manner.
Not her voice
I absolutely love her entrance in both the animation and live action. Quite haunting and beautiful!
@@charlenerafferty3534… we all know this. Obviously she stole it from Ariel.
I loved this scene, Jessica Alexander nailed it playing as Vanessa.

I'm upset they didn't make him hipnotised like in the original.

Never even heard of Jessica Alexander before this. She played the hell out of Vanessa tho. Promising career this girl has

The mixture of the soprano singing combined with the orchestra definitely fits this scene.

Look at that gleam in his eyes; he has to be hypnotized
He must be a pedo if he’s looking at her like that

I dont think Ariel is invited to the wedding. Hence why she didint get ready for the wedding. Also because she ran away early

In the original cartoon, Vanessa utilizes Ariel's voice to lure and hypnotize him...
